Role purpose: 

 

  • The head of Innovation and Care is responsible for leading and managing the digital innovation & Care that delivers end to end digital innovation that is meant to not only improve user experience but also company revenue.
  • This role is responsible for recruiting, maintaining and growing appropriate digital applications and solutions as well as improving digital channels for customer touch points.
  • To define and execute digital strategies taking innovation as a critical pillar in the digital transformation. Management of P&L for the portfolio while working together with other technology and commercial teams on delivering the relevant digital solutions.
  • Drive down operational cost by executing the Vodacom digital strategy in the shortest possible time using the existing digital squad and relevant partners.
  • Establish digital Innovation and Care KPIs (dashboard) and reporting tools for continuously improvement in the overall performance of the division/sub function.
  • To lead in living the Vodafone spirit way.
  • Develop a clear roadmap for the care channels (MyVodacom App, web) and other digital channel to align with Vodafone/Vodacom digital strategy.





Must have technical / professional qualifications: 

 

  • At least Bachelor’s Degree in Economics Computer Science, Information Systems, Any engineering degree,
  • A postgraduate qualification in the above fields is preferred
  • Ten or more years of experience in Telecom business, preferably in building and managing large innovation engines
  •  Five to seven years of leadership responsibilities in large delivery organizations, managing cross-functional teams and/or organization-wide programs, influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders effectively within complex context
  • Extensive experience in commercial, Value added and digital services
  • Extensive experience in leading innovation functions through digital transformations in complex and dynamic environments, in order to take advantage of digital opportunities and enable digital business outcomes
  • Professional experience and knowledge of digital and Telecommunications industries strongly preferred

Summary

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Office Assistant will work under the direct supervision of the HR & Logistics Officer to perform her/his assignments within the office. The Tanzania MEL Specialist will oversee all aspects of the CPRC monitoring, evaluation, and learning in Tanzania. Under the supervision of the Tanzania Project Director, the MEL Specialist will coordinate with HQ-based M&E and Project Teams, the Tanzania CPRC project three Technical Leads for Community Engagement & SBCC, MNH, and FP. In addition, the Specialist will work closely with and build capacities to partner M&E teams and activities, particularly during data collection and analysis. The Tanzania CPRC MEL Specialist will ensure the application of best practices for data collection, analysis, reporting, learning within the project team and with a larger audience, including donors and MOH stakeholders. The position will require an emphasis on working closely with the HQ M&E Director or his designee and on creating externally relevant results and progress reports.

-Lead the MEL unit in supporting the CPRC project in tracking and measuring achievement and progress toward activity goals and results

-Lead CPRC Tanzania during baseline and end line activities, with the support of the Project Director

-Lead in-country assessments and annual project evaluation to track achievements and changes toward reaching the CPRC project overall goal in Tanzania

-Under the guidance of the COP, Technical Director, Tanzania Project Director, and HQ M&E Director perform additional or complementary analysis of data collected, including baseline and end-line data collected

-Lead the development of terms of reference and methodology design for in-country program monitoring level reviews and evaluations to ensure that processes will generate relevant learning on respectful care

-Support internal and external Activity evaluations as necessary.

In Tanzania, EpiC will be implementing an HIV service delivery project among key and priority populations, adolescent girls and young women; and orphans and vulnerable children which aims to reduce HIV infections in pursuit of reaching 95-95-95 goals.  To achieve this goal, the program will support targeted prevention and case finding strategies at community level amongst the targeted populations.

Job Description

The Regional SI Officer is responsible for implementation of monitoring and evaluation (M&E) activities within the assigned region(s). He/She will work with EpiC staff in the regional office, local community-based implementing partners and GoT counterparts at regional level to ensure that M&E activities are appropriate and meet USAID and FHI360/EpiC requirements.



Specific duties include:

 

  • Provide direct technical assistance and capacity building in the design and implementation of the M&E activities in the communities served within the region.
  • Work with local community-based implementing partners and KVP groups, health service providers and GoT counterparts to provide support and guidance on project M&E activities, especially data collection, management and analysis for use in decision-making and course correction.
  • Conduct routine monitoring visits to project sites, conduct data quality verifications and data triangulation using official tools.
  • Ensure that the quality of activities adheres to EpiC and PEPFAR standards by supporting the development and implementation of appropriate mechanisms to ensure quality.
  • Manage project databases (DHIS2, DATIM, Infolink, IPRS, CTC2 database, CTC3 Macro database etc.) to store, manage and analyze project data.
  • Compile, consolidate and submit PEPFAR/USAID Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annual and Annual Reports to Senior SI Advisor.
  • Develop systems for data quality assessments, review, control and verification within the region and at partner level.
  • Propose strategies to increase data use and demand amongst Project, Partners and other stakeholders.
  • Review and analyze weekly/monthly/quarterly reports to identify the causes of potential bottlenecks in project implementation and to enhance quality of reporting and communication.
  • Orient and distribute data collection and reporting tools to CSOs and KVP friendly Facilities.
  • Share or distribute project targets to the regional team for monthly tracking or monitoring.
  • Document lessons learned and best practices in M&E, according to USAID and PEPFAR guidelines.
  • On a monthly basis, analyze regional-level data and provide approved reports to EpiC regional and HQ offices and other relevant parties.
  • Build capacity of local partners in project M&E, especially data collection, management and analysis for use decision-making and course correction
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Health Informatics with 5-7 years’ relevant experience and good programming skills; OR Master’s degree in Computer Science or Public Health Informatics with 3-5 years relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 4 years’ working experience at a similar position especially in implementing HIV and AIDS interventions
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office and database management systems (SQL Server, Access etc.); Knowledge of SQL for database development.
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software problems.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in correcting data errors or omissions
  • Considerable knowledge of data management policies and procedures
  • Knowledgeable in software development technologies
  • Initiative, creative and proactive mind in implementation of new ideas
  • Ability to resolve problems and find best solutions in data management.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize own work.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in technology.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

The Public Affairs Section of the United States Embassy in Dar es Salaam is seeking qualified candidates for the Fulbright Foreign Student Program. Online applications are now available. The Fulbright Foreign Student Program is the largest Fulbright program with Africa and provides financial assistance for a maximum of two years of study toward a graduate degree in a U.S. university or for participation in a non-degree research or nonacademic professional program. It is designed primarily to strengthen African universities through higher degree training for faculty members. Applications are also accepted from prospective candidates in public and private educational and cultural institutions, independent research institutes, and professional institutions.

The Fulbright Foreign Student Program is open to any qualified candidate but strongly encourages the inclusion of female candidates and prefers candidates who have not had extensive recent experience in the United States. Eligibility Requirements

  1. Applicants must be citizens of Tanzania or permanent residents qualified to hold a valid passport issued by Tanzania.
  2. Applicants must have a record of outstanding academic achievement and preparation in their chosen field of study. They must show high motivation and serious commitment to completing the program and to returning home.
  3. Applicant must have at least the equivalent of four (4) years of university study or the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor’s degree. Candidates that have three (3) years of tertiary study should have the equivalent of thirteen (13) years of primary and secondary school and their undergraduate degree should allow them to be eligible to pursue higher education in Tanzanian universities.
  4. Applicants who wish to pursue study in a field other than their current field of study must demonstrate adequate background in that field.
  5. Applicant must meet the minimum scores on required standardized tests.
  6. Applicants must be affiliated with or committed to working at an academic institution or public or private institutions in Tanzania upon return, and should have the endorsement of their home institution.
  7. Applicants should have a high motivation and a serious commitment to completing the program as scheduled and to returning home.
  8. Applicants with no extensive or recent U.S. experience will be given preference.
  9. Applicants must have a bachelor degree obtained before May 30, 2018, as well as at least two years professional experience relevant to their prospective field of study.
  10. Applicants must have a sufficiently high level of English proficiency to enable them to complete a full-time program of graduate study in the United States.
  11. No applicant may receive more than one Fulbright Student grant, including Humphrey Scholar alumni. This does not apply to the Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) Program alumni.
  12. Employees staff (LES) employed by the State Department/United States Agency for International Development (USAID) are ineligible for grants during the period of their employment and for one year following the termination of employment.

In Tanzania, the Fulbright Foreign Student Program is administered by the U.S. Embassy’s Public Affairs Section, which nominates candidates to the Fulbright Scholarship Board in Washington, DC. The Fulbright Scholarship Board makes the final selection of candidates. For the Embassy to complete the nomination process before the deadline date for submission, we urge aspiring candidates to submit their online applications by March 31, 2021. Applications received after this date will not be considered.

Funding

Fulbright funding is for a maximum of TWO years of funding in a master’s degree or doctoral program. Students accepted to degree programs less than two years are eligible to only receive funding through the designated period of degree completion – as stipulated by the host institution. Master’s applicants are given placement priority.  Ph.D. candidates who secure funding from outside sources will remain under Fulbright visa sponsorship rather than have sponsorship transferred to the host institution. Ph.D. candidates unable to secure funding for the additional years will return home without completing their degree.
