Key Responsibilities

 

    • Transport and Deliver Goods, sales driver is responsible for moving materials along his/her assigned route and bring these goods to customers.
    • Follow Routes and Schedules, sales drivers must maintain his/her scheduled deliveries and respond to factors that may affect their route, including traffic and weather conditions.
    • Sales driver must determines the most efficient delivery schedule based on expected delivery times. Adjust their schedules for un- ajira expected road closures or hazards.
    • Collect customer payments, sales drivers collect payments from customers at the time of delivery. For customers paying with a check, the route sales driver ensures that the check is properly filled out and that the amount is correct.
    • Perform vehicle Inspections and Maintenance, route sales drivers is required to inspect and maintain his/her vehicles to ensure safe operation.




  • Conduct regular maintenance, inspections, and emergency repairs. Route sales drivers should be familiar with protocols and practices for removing their vehicles from the road due to mechanical failure.
  • Maintain Records, sales drivers must maintain detailed records related to their activities on the road. This may include daily logs of stops and deliveries, records of payments and transactions, and information about customers who refuse delivery.
  • Maintain Records of mileage, amounts they pay for fuel and tolls, and information about deviations from their usual route due to road or weather conditions.

Job Description

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises and helps people to survive and rebuild their lives. At work today in over 40 countries and 22 U.S. cities, we restore safety, dignity and hope to millions who are uprooted and struggling to endure. The IRC leads the way from harm to home.

The IRC has been providing education services for Congolese and Burundian girls and boys in the Nyarugusu Refugee Camp since January 2014 and extended education services to Mtendeli refugee camp in March 2016. Services cover the full education spectrum from pre-school, through primary and secondary school, Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET), and tertiary education applications. Schools follow the country of origin national curriculum (Burundian and Congolese).

The IRC is the consortium lead for the DIFD project which is being delivered in partnership with Caritas and Plan International. The one-year project is designed to increase access to quality education for children in Nyarugusu, Mtendeli, and Nduta refugee camps.

Scope of work:

The IRC is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Education M&E Officer to carry out M&E activities for the UNHCR Education project in Kibondo and Kasulu / Mtendeli& Nyarugusu Refugee Camp. Working under the guidance of the Education M&E Manager, the post holder will be responsible for direct planning and implementation of their activities, leading the enrolment at a camp level, generating report, sharing data with the education to inform programming as well as reviewing monthly reports with focus on current and correct data. She will also be responsible to respond on data request by education officers/Managers upon request, participate on trainings and capture pre- and post-test data for reporting and determination of activity impact. The Education M&E Officer will work with a team of M&E officers to ensure all M&E activities are carried out in a timely manner. The Education M&E Officer support the refugee incentive Education Community Outreach workers, Head teachers, inspectors and Coordinators; supporting them in managing their time and activities effectively and building their capacity, where possible.  The Education M&E Officer will represent the IRC education team in relevant camp-based stakeholder meetings. This post holder will facilitate collaboration and working closely with other M&E staff and program staff within IRC in creating and maintaining a robust M&E system of the Tanzania country programs.

This position will report to the Education M&E Manager and work in close collaboration with DFID Education Manager and is contingent on the IRC being awarded funding.



Responsibility for Education M&E Officer

 

  • Under guidance of the Education M&E Manager, support preparation and implementation of baseline, midline, end-line assessments, including tool development and identification of gaps.
  • The Education M&E Officer, shall support the education programme team to realise their quality data and reporting, including reminding them on what has been planned but not implemented as per the work plan and Logframe indicators.
  • Conduct regular school monitoring visits for data verification and ensure all real time data is correctly collected using the appropriate tools.
  • Ensure that all data collected in schools is in line with quality standards for education program
  • Work closely with head teachers, school inspectors, Incentive Coordinators and education officers to ensure that the correct monitoring tools are being used.
  • Ensure quality standards and processes for data and information generated from the Education program are met.
  • To make sure that any data collected is analysed and feedback given for improved programming or school management
  • Ensure that key indicators are tracked across the programmes/ projects and camps and consolidated on a monthly basis and report shared to programme staff.
  • Contribute to submission of high quality reports as needed by reviewing data shared in the reports by programme Officers.
  • Ensure client feedback is regularly captured and documented in the feedback logbook and other established mechanisms.
  • Work closely with Education M&E Manager in strengthening the IRC Tanzania country programme M&E system and roll out comprehensive M&E plans, aligned to IRC’s Monitoring for Action (MfA) framework, with corresponding data collection and analysis tools aligned with agreed work plans, the log frame, and performance indicators.
  • Follow and abide to the reporting calendar and ensure timely submission of IRC and donor reports and indicators data.
  • Plan and deliver programme staff capacity building activites as per the gaps/ need established.
  • Report any violations of IRC’s three core values (Integrity, Service and Accountability) as per IRC WAY reporting mechanism. The reporting of violations is an obligation on the part of all staff members.

 

Data Management

 

  • Participate in design of data collection tools
  • Conduct regular data quality checks, suggest improvements where necessary.
  • Conduct data analysis to inform programme implementation and to contribute to wider organizational activity trends.
  • Ensure proper management and storage of data.
  • Protect confidentiality of records and information used during data entry.
  • Work with Education M&E Officers to ensure that the education database is kept up to date at all times.
  • Conduct regular data verification exercises.
  • Support implementation of annual student enrolment programmes, including data verification and entry.
  • Respond to data queries from programme staff, IPs and general stakeholders.

 

Representation and Partnership

 

  • Support coordination and participation in monthly Camp Based Education Working Group meetings, providing minutes to the regional Education Working Group.
  • Ensure all education projects  are integrated and coordinated with other IRC sectors.
  • Participate in programme review meetings, providing appropriate data.
  • Participate in Joint activites like monitoring , reviews, study, evaluations, assessments and others with other partners, stakeholders and donors

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor Degree in social sciences, statistics, Project Management and evaluations or other related fields, or any degree but with a post graduate diploma or advanced diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation or Project Management from a recognized and accredited  University
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Monitoring and Evaluation from International NGOs or a Humanitarian organisation.
  • Demonstrated Skills and Competencies
  • A commitment to IRC’s mission and humanitarian principles.
  • Receptive to building and maintaining positive relationships with people from all backgrounds, genders, cultures and viewpoints.
  • Experience working with refugee communities desirable.
  • Knowledge of Education M&E, in particular Education Management Information Systems.
  • Experience working with children, preferably facilitating age appropriate focus group discussions and/or interviews.
  • Experience in planning and delivering training.
  • Experience in development of age appropriate data collection tools is a plus.
  • Understanding of data analysis (SPSS or similar).
  • Experience in community mobilisation and coordination.
  • Highly collaborative and consultative approach.
  • Good IT skills: knowledge of MS Word; Excel and Outlook required
  • Swahili and good English written and oral skills required.  French and Kirundi a plus.

JOB TITLE: District Laboratory Coordinator (01 Position)

WORKSTATION: Temeke Municipal Council

REPORTS TO: District AIDS Control Coordinator (DACC)

 Basic functions:

Provides technical assistance to MDH-project supported Laboratories in the District and provision of high-quality clinical laboratory services.

 Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical assistance and supportive supervision to the laboratories at regional, district and health center facility levels.
  • Assist the laboratories to provide adequate and reliable testing services to support HIV and TB care and treatment services in the region.
  • Work closely with other units, District Health authorities and other implementing partners to ensure adequate coordination and efficient utilization of resources for effective laboratory services in the region.
  • Assist in the development of laboratory policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that will ensure implementation of activities of management, quality assurance, personnel performance evaluation and documentation to assure compliance and adherence to regulatory guidelines.
  • Assist in the implementation, monitoring, and documentation of laboratory test results including follow-up on abnormal results and critical values.
  • Provide logistical support for the procurement and ordering of laboratory reagents and supplies.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports on logistic management of reagents and consumables in order to improve supply management.
  • Assist in development of continuous training programs focusing on laboratory testing, QA/QC, GLP and safety.
  • Assist the laboratories to implement and maintain ISO 15189 laboratory accreditation standards.
  • Support the laboratories to properly implement data management practices and ensure accurate and reliable reports and data are generated.
  • Ensure preparation of monthly and quarterly reports and submission to the appropriate authority.

Education and Professional qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in health laboratory sciences or biomedical laboratory sciences.
  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience in working at laboratory project management in the HIV/TB Care and Treatment settings.
  • Vast experience on implementing QMS for the laboratory ISO 15189 accreditation standard.
  • Ability to collaborate with government health management teams and other partners.

JOB TITLE: Medical Officers (01)

Reports to: Health Facility I/C

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Providing clinical care to HIV patients in the Clinic including:
  • Management of Opportunistic Infections
  • Staging of HIV patients for Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) eligibility
  • Initiating patients on ART
  • Managing complications of ART
  • Initiation and monitoring of Post-Exposure Prophylaxis

REPORTS TO: District AIDS Control Coordinator (DACC)

The Maternal and Child Health Officer (MCHO) is a self-motivated individual who will assist the Regional Maternal and Child Health Officer (RMCHO) in implementation of the MCH activities at district level. She/he will report to the Regional MCHO and will work in close collaboration with the Regional Maternal and Child Health Manager (RMCHM).

Duties:

  • Assist MDH supported PMTCT and Pediatrics clinics to meet the national standards for comprehensive management of HIV/AIDS
  • Support the MCH unit to achieve optimal uptake of viral loads services among clients in both pediatrics and PMTCT units
  • Providing technical assistance to site staff on implementation of national standards for PMTCT and Early infant diagnosis at PMTCT within the respective district.
  • Coordinate and actively participate in Joint Supportive Supervision (JSS) with the district teams
  • Support and supervise facility and provider tailored mentorship
  • Identify training needs among supported facilities and ensure that quality trainings are conducted
  • Offer follow up of trained HCPs to ensure that the knowledge gained translate into skills and competency acquisition

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To support implementation, M&E and reporting of TB, TB-HIV services under the Afya Kwanza project, as well as other relevant activities.
  • To support implementation of initiatives to address key program, donor and national priorities – such as intensive TB screening and case finding among PLHIVs and IPT- in line with national guidelines
  • To provide TA to the DACC, DTLC and HFs in planning, implementation, M&E and reporting of TB, TB-HIV services
  • To support RTBHIV Manager to asses and implement initiatives to address skill and resource needs in TB, TB-HIV services through supportive supervision, mentorship, on-job training, CQI and other approaches in collaboration with R/DTLC, R/DACCs
  • To support timely collection and submission of TB, TB-HIV data – as well as support strengthening of the related M&E systems – in collaboration with the M&E team
  • To support RTBHIV Manager in writing technical program documents including reports, best practices, lessons learned and other relevant documents

Duties and Responsibilities

Data Entry Officers will be under the direct supervision of a data Supervisor and reporting to the site manager.

Tasks for a Data Entry Officer will include but not be limited to the following activities.

  • Enter quickly and accurately clinical, laboratory, tracking or other forms into database under the monitoring of Data Supervisor and reporting to the Site Manager
  • Communicate both verbally and in writing with supervisors regarding forms with problems
  • Sort and file forms as needed in numerical order or by date
  • Communicate both verbally and in writing with supervisors regarding database problems
  • Reconcile differences between different databases by running compare program, reviewing appropriate form and correcting all differences
  • Locate and review archived or filed forms if necessary
  • Attend data staff meetings at the specified times
  • Communicate both verbally and in writing suggestions for improvements to data entry or data flow to supervisors
  • Complete other data tasks as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A Minimum of form four education, certificate or diploma level training on computer study.
  • At least one (1) year experience of data entry
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to work independently and in team
  • Committed to work and adheres to work regulations
  • Maintains confidentiality in all aspects
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, multi-tasking and organizational skills.

Major responsibilities shall include:

 

  • Examine internal IT controls, evaluate the design and operational effectiveness, determine exposure to risk and develop remediation strategies.
  • Troubleshoot security and network problems.
  • Respond to all system and/or network security breaches.
  • Test and identify network and system vulnerabilities, and create counteractive strategies to protect the network.
  • Conduct efficient and effective IT audit procedures.
  • Ensure audit tools are effectively used to bring efficien­cy and effectiveness in the audit process.
  • Communicate complex technical issues in simplified terms to the relevant staff.
  • Perform regular audit testing and provide recommendations.

  • Develop a strong understanding of business and system processes.

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Degree in Information Systems, or a related field of study
  • Certified Information System Auditor (CISA).
  • A minimum of one years’ experience in Information Systems Audit.
  • Understanding of Banking systems, Operating Systems and Databases.
  • Understanding of Information Security standards, tools and best practices.
  • Understanding of IT Governance and IT Audit fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of internal auditing, internal controls, risk management and corporate governance.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with incident & response management, disaster recovery, business continuity, data management, data integrity, capacity planning, vendor management, IT project management, systems development and implementation methodologies, networking, and cyber security a plus.
  • Familiarity with COBIT and COSO methodology a plus.
  • Some knowledge of Internal Audit software preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel, Access, and ACL a plus.

  • Conducting official visits to business community for marketing
  • Initiation of various communication channels, awareness and sensitization and planning for publicity strategies and campaigns to  increase visibility of TCCIA
  • Establish pool of resource persons for Radio and TV Programs which can be used for TCCIA Visibility, outreach and Analyzing Media coverage
  • Performing any other duties as may be assigned by the Commercial Development Manager from time to time

ACADEMIC AND PROFFESSIONAL SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Mass Communication, Marketing or a related field.
  • At least 3 years previous experience in Private and vibrant Business Sector as Public relations Officer or above.
  • Experience gained in Private and Business sector is preferred

BBC Swahili Service operates a digital first strategy, publishing content online and on social media platforms, this alongside producing radio news and current affairs programmes in Swahili. The service’s focus is to produce world-class digital content that makes sense of news and events for our local and global audiences.

Role Responsibility

We are looking for an experienced digital journalist to create content in multiple formats, in Swahili primarily and in English if required. They should be capable of creatively engaging audiences with interesting storytelling angles and techniques for all digital/social platforms. You will work to Senior Digital Journalists, and the Assistant Editor and Editor of the BBC Swahili Service and be part of a team with colleagues based in both Dar es salaam and Nairobi and other parts of the region.

The digital journalist will produce news and features in text and video, working across digital platforms to ensure the highest quality content is created for our audiences, and to make sure all content produced conforms to BBC values and editorial standards.

Other duties include:

To report, present, research, write, translate, edit and adapt text stories, video or audio material for audiences on digital platforms and radio

To create original digital content for all multimedia output

To be responsible for thinking through and around editorial problems, developing realistic alternative strategies and approaches.

To maintain professional journalistic standards of accuracy, impartiality and fair dealing and adhering to the BBC’s Editorial guidelines.

To offer ideas for programme content; to suggest new angles on existing stories and to put forward stories not yet covered.

To be responsible for a moving story, amending and updating material as required. To be able to freshen a story and write interesting headlines.





To provide content for other areas of the BBC including the BBC Africa hub and BBC News
