Procurement and Administrative Assistant 

 

Research Triangle Institute (RTI) is an independent non-profit research institute dedicated to improving the human condition with over 30 years’ experience assisting governments, communities, and the private sector in managing their environment and natural resources. We are looking for candidates to fill new positions in the recently awarded USAID funded Tuhifadhi Maliasili Activity. The goal of the project is to address dynamics that hinder habitat connectivity and the long-term persistence of biodiversity in Tanzania. The positions will be based in Dar, Tanzania with some travel required to the project areas.

Procurement and Administrative Assistant

The candidate will provide overall management of project Logistical needs including but not limited to the processes of procurement (Local and International), and oversight of asset management and inventory control.

Skills & Abilities:

 

  • Master’s degree or Bachelor’s Degree and 1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Additional professional training in procurement and logistics management preferred
  • Knowledge of USAID procurement policies and regulations a plus.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and procurement software;
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills
  • Experience in general business administration and financial management;

Private Sector Engagement Officer

The Officer will provide technical support for activities that cover identification of potential products and services, value addition, quality assurance, and linkages to broader markets for conservation friendly products and services.

Skills & Abilities:

 

    • Master’s degree in business administration, biodiversity conservation, ecosystem management, natural resources management, Environmental/natural resource economics, environmental science or/and Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of experience in private sector development and agribusiness.
    • Experience and/or training on agribusiness, value chain assessments, and innovative financing models by different financial institutions.
    • Experience working with counterparts at various levels of government, private sector leaders, and other stakeholders preferred;
    • Proficiency in English is required.

Communications Officer

The Officer will support the project’s internal and external communication strategy and development of communication and other technical deliverables,

Skills & Abilities:

 

      • Master’s degree in relevant field and or bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 1 year of experience in communications and/or outreach.
      • Strong knowledge of USAID’s CLA principles
      • Communications experience on donor-funded projects preferred.
      • Experience preparing communications plans.
      • Demonstrated ability to think strategically about communications objectives.
      • Great communication and interpersonal skills in English.
      • Ability to travel and work throughout Tanzania
