ASL is looking for a Content Creator.

As a Content Creator, you’ll be working alongside the marketing team in order to create social media content. You will be responsible for creating new assets for the team to post, sourcing stock photography, occasionally shooting your own photography to post, creating motion graphics or short videos (typically from existing assets), creating infographics and concepting new ways to connect with ASL’s audience.

This is a great opportunity if you are ready to:

Position: Senior People and Culture Officer

Reporting to: Head of People and Culture (HPC)

Responsibility:

Responsible for Assisting/ supporting the Head People and Culture in facilitating all personnel related issues (recruitment, training, talent management & performance management) in accordance with VFT – MFB’s policies





Main tasks

 

  • Prepare and update manpower plan and succession plan.
  • Responsible for recruitment, advise the HPC on shortlisted candidates to ensure that the organization has the required quality of staff.
  • Prepare P & C budget for Board approval.
  • Prepare and update Compensation and Package Scheme.
  • Work with HPC to prepare position matrices for staff and design staff positions and HAY grades in accordance with the organization changes.
  • Monitor report and suggest appropriate actions with regards to staff turnover.
  • Responsible for P&C/HR manual review.
  • Ensure annual staff training plan & budget.
  • In collaboration with HoD develops and reviews staff update/training manuals/modules.
  • Work with the HPC to coordinate Our Voice survey & reporting, monitor the implementation of the identified gaps.
  • Ensure consistent coaching for performance conversations.
  • Monitor all employment contracts and ensure timely update of staff contract in accordance to the country labor laws.
  • Keep track on all legal issues in liaison with Advocates and Department/ Business Centre & Branch Managers on matters arising from different areas of operations.
  • Provide guidance to the P&C whistleblower committee on policies & regulations governing staff disciplinary and other related matters.
  • Responsible for Staff Monthly reports and newsletters when due.
  • Respond to daily employees’ questions/issues timely and in an appropriate manner.

 

Education/Experience

 

  • Bachelor Degree in Human Resources Management
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a professional HR environment
  • Understanding and training in the Labour laws in Tanzania
  • Experience with and proficiently in using Human resource information systems
  • Payroll management and experience in benefits administration is preferred

 

Special / Personal Abilities

 

  • Highly developed sense of reliability and correctness
  • Excellent trainer, facilitator, mentor and coach

Position Title: Senior Communications Officer / Content Creator

We’re looking for a Content Creator who will create a steady supply of photo, video and written material for Amani to use for social media, public relations and fundraising purposes. This role will also involve communications with donors and visitors as well as documentation of Amani’s work in the streets and locations we serve.





Major Duties:

 

  • Shoot and edit high-quality photos and videos of Amani’s children, youth and programmes, in the city, in family homes and in the streets (including at night).
  • Gather and write inspiring stories about the children we serve and any milestone achievements or program updates in Aman
  • Write professional press releases about program events and milestones to make Amani better-known in local and international media.
  • Maintain these stories, write-ups, photos and videos in an organized digital library.
  • Repurpose or develop new stories, write-ups, photos and videos for use in Amani’s blogs, newsletters, emails, social media, reports, proposals and website.
  • Send out Thank-You letters and emails twice a month to people who donate.
  • Respond to email queries from lower/mid-end Amani supporters.
  • Welcome visitors and visiting groups to Amani and provide them a tour of the Children’s Home.

 

Skills & Qualifications:

 

  • Experience in using photo and video editing & design software.
  • Experience in managing and creating content for social media, specifically Facebook, Instagram and
  • Excellent level of written and spoken English, with storytelling skills being a strong plus.
  • An intermediate-level grasp of Swahili is a strong advantage.

 

Education & Experience:

 

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (preferably in Communications, Journalism, Creative Writing, Public Relations, etc.).
  • At least 3 years experience in a (non-profit) communications role.

Role: Country Accountant

Seeking a Country Accountant on a 1-year fixed term contract. The Country Accountant will be tasked with performing key reconciliations such as reconciling transactions across the general ledger and sub-ledgers together with other key accounts.

Location: Dar es salaam

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Perform and review ledger subledger reconciliations for all balance sheet items.
  • Perform and review inventory and tax reconciliations.
  • Perform and review reconciliations for bank & cash balances; debtors; suppliers; inventory and control accounts.
  • Generate fixed asset register and fixed asset movement schedule which ties to the General Ledger.
  •  Generate aged open balance listings for all items in the balance sheet.
  • Generate a list of all proposed reconciling journals.
  • Perform financial record audits to ensure compliance with IFRS and with the law.
  • Ensure all accounting procedures follow IFRS.
  • Assist in instituting financial controls (including end of day, end of month procedures) that are aimed to ensure integrity of financial data capture and aide in the process for regular reconciliations.
  • Analyze financial data and trace discrepancies.
  • Review financial documents to identify inaccuracies.
  •  Perform review of reconciliations and tasks carried out by the bookkeepers.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration; CPA qualification; MBA/CFA a plus but not required
  • Thorough knowledge of IFRS and experience with accounting and financial procedures
  • Strong investigative and analytical skills; ability to identify errors
  • Experience reconciling accounting figures and financial records
  • Appropriate handling of sensitive information
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Team player with the ability to work with multiple parties

POSITIONPROJECT COMMUNITY MOBILIZATION OFFICER 

Duty Station: Simanjiro-Orkasumet (Manyara Region)

Reports to: WASH Engineer

Duration of Contract: 10 Months

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Responsible for the implementation and supervision of all planned WASH community
  • Responsible for conducting community meetings with relevant stakeholders for the identification and implementation of water, sanitation and hygiene
  • Responsible for liaising with government officials and other stakeholders for the planning and implementation of all WASH community
  • Demonstrable knowledge on hygiene promotion approaches for participatory and community diagnosis (e.g. hand washing, menstrual hygiene management, COVID-19, sexual and reproductive health).
  • Implement and develop hygiene promotion activities and campaigns
  • Compile and collect field data for evaluation indicators of verifiable objectives of the
  • Advice the project Wash Engineer on how to improve WASH interventions with the agropastoral
  • Prepare weekly, monthly and annual activity and progress
  • Active in detecting community needs and suggest future interventions
  • Preparation of activity concept notes, activity plan, compilation field data and
  • Maintaining work relationship with Co-workers, beneficiaries, and district council for a good image of the organization.
  • Organizing, verifying and filling of project source of verification documents and ensuring safety of all Red Cross materials and
  • Strengthening of Red Cross branch and sub-branches, and dissemination of the Red Cross to communities in Manyara
  • Promoting WASH awareness, facilitation to community and supervision of construction of sanitation facilities.
  • To facilitate procurement activities at field level as per TRCS procurement
  • To facilitate financial management of the project activities as per TRCS
  • Ability to use computer software package (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Perform any other duties assigned by his/her supervisors from time to time

POSITION SUMMARY: The Strategic Information Assistant is responsible to conduct and

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

  • Conduct physical files reviews for all program indicators currently reported, verifying consistency between various source documents and reporting platforms
  • Work with field teams and facility providers during the review exercises to identify documentation gaps and corrective actions
  • Track and document review outcomes through specific templates developed by SI team
  • Regularly communicate with supervisors with activity updates and challenges encountered, including sharing brief daily summaries
  • Work with facility data clerks to ensure all reviewed records are also reflected consistently and updated as needed in the CTC2 database
  • Perform any other assigned duties by their supervisors

 

Required qualification, Knowledge and skills:

 

  • Required: Medical degree in Public Health, Sociology, Community Development, Statistics, or other related discipline from a recognized academic institution
  • Required: Demonstrated familiarity and experience working with government tools and reporting for HIV/AIDS indicators, such as the DHIS, CTC2 files and database,testing registers, care and treatment registers, monthly and quarterly summary forms,among others.
  • Advantage: Specific experience with monitoring & evaluation activities utilizing these tools
  • Excellent communication skills, including writing and presentation skills. Fluent in both Kiswahili and English.
  • Basic skills on computer usage (MS Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint at minimum).
  • Flexible to work after normal working hours and weekends at various community and facility locations.

  • Provide leadership in the development, implementation, and management of the ICAP program strategies in line with CDC and PEPFAR strategies in the context of the country plans.
  • Engage stakeholders in all aspects of the BBS, from preparations, data collection and dissemination of findings
  •  Lead the development and implementation of the BBS for KP, including female and male sex workers and people who inject drugs and their sexual partners.
  • Conduct the training for data collection team on BBS for KP, including responding driven sampling
  • Build local capacity for a sustainable surveillance system for KP in Tanzania.
  • Supervise data collection team during the implementation of the BBS.
  •  Conduct supervision and monitoring visits during BBS data collection.
  • Prepare regular reports on program activities for CDC and the New York ICAP office.
  • Communicate regularly with MOH and National partners.
  • Represent ICAP in meetings with government officials, CDC, and partner organizations.

Required Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

 

  • Advanced degree in public health, epidemiology, international development or a related field.
  • Previous experience with Bio-behavioral surveys among key populations, especially with respondent driven sampling (RDS) methodology
  • A proven record of excellent management, leadership, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
  • At least 6 years of senior-level experience designing, implementing, and managing HIVrelated projects in developing countries. Experience in HIV surveillance preferred
  • Experience working with KP in sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Experience supervising data collection teams.
  •  Significant experience leading capacity-building initiatives.
  • At least 5 years of experience living or working in a developing country; previous experience working in Tanzania preferred.
  • Experience working in collaboration with local government partners.

  • Assess eligibility of prospective participants who present at the study site
  • Administer verbal informed consent and obtain consent from eligible participants
  • Conduct semi-structured KIIs and/or FGDs with formative assessment participants
  • Take detailed and accurate notes during KIIs/FGDs, write expanded field notes after KIIs/FGDs and transfer notes into MS word or other applicable program on a daily basis
  • Support rapid qualitative analysis by entering deductive themes into the rapid analysis matrix
  • Review notes from KIIs/FGDs for completeness and accuracy.
  • Work as a member of a team and attend daily, weekly, and monthly team meetings
  • Identify and report any adverse event to the BBS Site Coordinator
  • Meet and support the BBS Site Coordinator to discuss progress and submit accurate and complete reports
  • Ensure notes and consent forms are properly filled and securely stored in a locked cabinet or box
  • Maintain confidentiality, ensure ethical standards are adhered to and informed consent procedures are properly administered
  • Ensure high quality data, ethical and moral conduct to collect accurate and valid information
  • Schedule return visits for any incomplete interviews and inform the BBS Site Coordinator of any return visits scheduled
  • Reminding the interviewees about the return visit a day before scheduled return date
  • Ensure all materials in custody are maintained with the highest level of safety and diligence
  • Process compensation for study participants as per study protocol
  • Managing field level payment to study participants and being able to do retirement timely
  • Perform other duties as assigned by study investigators

 

Required Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

 

  • University degree in social science, biological science or any other health-related field
  • Prior experience conducting qualitative interviews and focus group discussions. Experience in qualitative research with key and vulnerable populations especially female sex workers (FSW) and people who inject drugs (PWID) will be an added advantage
  • Knowledge of and practical experience working with key and vulnerable populations in the
  • HIV response or community-based research
  • Must have strong interpersonal, writing, and communication skills
  • Speak in a clear, pleasant, and understandable voice
  • Ability to adapt and work with diverse groups of people
  • Willingness and ability to work with key populations including female sex workers and people who inject drugs
  • Ability to adhere to protocols and standard operation procedures (SOPs)
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
