Prospective students selected to join the Mwalimu J.K. Nyerere Mlimani Campus, the College of
Information and Communication Technologies and the School of Journalism and Mass Communication
should report on Saturday 28th October, 201 7 for verification of fee payment before the Orientation Week
which starts on 30th October, 2017. Applicants selected for admission into the Dar es Salaam University
College of Education (DUCE) and the Mkwawa University College of Education (MUCE) should report
directly at the Colleges’ campuses.

TCU | Extends the application for bachelor degree Programmes for the academic year 2017-2018

TCU wants all students who got multiple admissions to confirm attendance to just one university of their choice, or risk being locked out by the university watchdog.

TCU has extended the exercise for six more days beginning Monday – which means that students who failed to secure admissions after missing the criteria or because of competitiveness, have until 22/10/2017 to seek a third chance.

According to information posted on TCU website, the only students allowed to apply anew would be those who weren’t selected during the first and second selections

Last week, TCU spokesperson Edward Mkaku told The Daily News that verification by TCU had since established that some 20,000 students got multiple admissions at different higher learning institutions – and had been given until Thursday last week to confirm with their respective universities before TCU gives them the “green light” to such ad missions for the 2017/2018 academic year.

TCU is opening the third phase to allow more students to confirm their preferred universities. The TCU also says that applicants who will fail to confirm a single university of their choice would be locked out, asking serious applicants to communicate directly with their preferred universities or visit the universities’ websites instead of going to TCU offices.

Since the government banned TCU from admitting students to various higher learning institutions, students are now forced to apply for admissions at their preferred universities, which should, in turn, forward the names to TCU for verification.

The TCU further requires all successful students to report to their respective universities by October 30, asking the higher learning institutions to forward those names to the Higher Education Students’ Loans Board (HESLB).

The USAID PROTECT Project is a five-year project that is funded by USAID though March  2020 and is implemented by RESEARCH TRIANGLE INSTITUTE (RTI). The objective of PROTECT is to address the dynamics that threaten biodiversity conservation and inhibit private, sector-led growth in Tanzania’s natural resource sector. RTI is recruiting for a FINANCE ASSISTANCE.

Main Responsibilities:

The Finance Assistance will be responsible for assisting the Finance Manager and Administration Manager in ensuring the overall financial processes are adhered to and executed in timely and qualitative way. He/she will assist in ensuring that the internal finance processes are followed, cash flow and other financial forecasts are prepared.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation and submission of accurate and timely monthly financial reports and supporting financial documentation.
  • Assist in preparation and consolidation of Monthly Reconciliation packages
  • Manage and monitor payment for workshop/training and advances to staff
  • Receive and process all invoices and documents from the field offices.
  • Manage staff advance and ensure are accounted for per RTI policies and procedures, any cash not spent is deposited in a timely manner and issue receipt
  • Review of staff advance balances and remind staff to liquidate them before the end of the month.
  • Post data into QuickBooks by following established accounting techniques and procedures.
  • Ensure payroll statutory deductions and VAT claims are submitted in compliance with local laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

 

  • A Diploma / Bachelor in either in either Business studies or Accounting or Financial Management plus 6 years’ relevant work experience or a Master’s degree and 3 years’ experience
  • Proficiency in excel and knowledge in other accounting software packages such as QUICKBOOKS
  • Able to work effectively with minimum supervision
  • Able to work under strict deadlines with monthly and yearly closing procedures for accounting records
  • Good organization and administrative skill
  • Excellent communication, organization and reporting skills, team player, trustworthy and responsible
  • Excellent attention to detail
