DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. To register and issue licenses for passenger service vehicles and goods carrying vehicles;
ii. To conduct roadside inspections and enforcement of licensing conditions;
iii. To conduct reviews/surveys in order to assess the supply and demand for cargo and passenger services;
iv. To keep proper and up to date record of data/information of the road services providers with a view to providing technical inputs for regulation of tariff, fares and setting maximum levels of same;
v. To keep proper record of timetable for passenger vehicles and ensuring that they are adhered to;
vi. To evolve codes of conduct for the road service providers and consumers; and set enforcement mechanisms including penalties for defaulters;
vii. To constantly monitor activities of road service providers with a view to appraising Management on their performance;
viii. To prepare individual objectives/targets and performance standards as part of the individual performance agreement in consultation with the supervisor; and
ix. To perform other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
(i) Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma either in Transport Management, Economics, or Commerce majoring in Accounting, Finance or Marketing from recognized institution;
(ii) Experience in transport and logistics operations will be an added advantage; and
(iii)At least six (6) months of similar working experience will be an added advantage.

About Niambie
BBC Media Action’s Niambie (‘Tell Me’) project provides a unique space in the national media for young people to discuss important issues on their own terms and in their own language. It engages and informs young people from across Tanzania, creating a platform for them to talk to their leaders. Evidence shows that Niambie contributes to increased self-efficacy among young people and women and increased ability to engage in discussions and take action on issues that matter to them.

Social media channels that provide a space for young people to interact with each other and share their thoughts on important issues
Capacity-building with young professionals from five regions across Tanzania
Collaborative partnerships with national media organisations who broadcast the Niambie radio programme
About the role
Reporting to the senior producer, the Videographer / Graphic Designer will be responsible for filming, editing and creating innovative visual content, ensuring that our online output is of the highest creative and editorial standards and serves the needs of our diverse young audiences.
S/he will be expected to come up with visual creative story ideas and treatments for Niambie’s social media platforms. The successful candidate will also be expected to stay up-to-date with new camera and editing technologies, be willing to experiment with new online graphic creation software and propose ideas to ensure Niambie remains at the forefront of online content creation.
The Videographer / Graphic Designer will be directly responsible for managing all the project’s visual productions including regularly filming and editing videos, designing and producing infographics and taking/editing photographs to a high standard for use on our digital platforms. The role requires strong editorial skills and a firm grasp of Tanzania’s new online content regulations.
The successful candidate will be expected to work independently to a high standard and be capable of making decisions about content and formats without supervision. This is a new role within the Niambie team and candidates will be expected to propose ways in which the post can help to strengthen Niambie’s digital output and grow our digital audiences.
Main duties:
- Originating and delivering high-quality video and pictures for original digital content
- Liaising with producers, research and project staff in content planning meetings and production
- Checking digital content and visual materials for publication to ensure they are accurate, legally sound and comply with the BBC’s editorial standards and child protection policy
- Filming and editing of still photos and video
- Attending events for reporting purposes as assigned
- Supporting young professionals to pitch stories and create content for Niambie social media channels
- Working with the research team to gather and analyse online interactions and sharing information with the production team
- Travelling outside Dar to gather content and support the radio production team

- Knowledge of radio production and sound editorial judgment
- Excellent English and Swahili writing skills
- Good computer skills – ability to use audio/video editing software preferred
- A good understanding of audio and visual production and post-production techniques
- Creative flair, with strong writing skills and the ability to structure a narrative
- A willingness to experiment with new technologies to create compelling, high-quality digital content with minimal supervision
- Experience of working independently and within a team
- A good understanding of managing an online production process to deliver content on time and to budget
- Highly organised, with a proven ability to prioritise, manage a workload and deadlines and maintain attention to detail

Scope of Work
SHOPS Plus Tanzania is currently seeking qualified consultants to complete the specific objectives and deliverables outlined below in providing remote, teleservice reporting support for Accredited Drug Dispensing Outlets (ADDOs) in Tanzania who report data through Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) system.
The consultants will be expected to: Make outbound calls to ADDO partners to provide mentorship, build capacity and demonstrate how to report through Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD)
Act as primary remote contact for ADDO partners to provide them with record keeping skills, reporting skills and provide required clarifications on issues related to reporting
Analyze and maintain a written record of each telephone interaction with ADDOs in regard to the USSD reporting system
Analyze ADDO reporting efficiency and accurateness within the reporting platform and make follow-up calls to improve reporting amongst ADDOs with gaps
Support ADDOs to achieve a 60% reporting rate
Travel: within mainland Tanzania
Deliverables
1. Meet daily target for outbound calls
2. Submit summary notes on each outbound call made to ADDOs
3. Submit reporting form for remote, teleservice USSD reporting support on a weekly basis
Qualifications
Minimum of one year experience in Customer service and customer support
Knowledge in IT and mobile techno systems
Experience dealing with customers on the phone and responding to customer complaints and inquiries
Sufficient skills using Microsoft word and Excel
Certificate in IT, Business Administration or any other related field
Fluency in spoken and written English and Swahili is required
