STATEMENT OF WORK

The High Commission of Canada in Dar es Salaam is looking to contract a Coordinator for the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) Program.

The individual will be responsible for:

Carrying out project identification, project monitoring, and maintenance of files for Canada Fund projects in Tanzania, Comoros, and Zambia;
Preparing lists of project proposals for the CFLI Committee with recommendations for consideration by the Flead of Mission and rationales for those recommendations;
Preparation of appropriate Canada Fund approval documents and reports;
Plan, implement and administer effective systems and procedures, in accordance with CFLI and Global Affairs Canada regulations, enabling the CFLI to deliver its goals and objectives successfully; and
Monitoring project activities in accordance with the approved monitoring plan (which may require field visits), to ensure that funded projects are meeting their targets and fulfilling their reporting requirements.

Evaluation criteria:

Regional Manager, TANROADS – MOROGORO is looking for suitable qualified Tanzanian candidates for 13 available Posts at Morogoro Weigh Bridge stations and Regional Manager Office. Applications are invited from suitable qualified and competent Tanzanians to apply for the following positions:

POSITION TITLE: TECHNICIAN (4 POSTS)

POSITION RELATIONSHIP

The holder of this post who reports to the Head of Engineering will be responsible to inspect road and bridge maintenance works activities.

A: DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF TECHNICIAN

Inspects and reports on roads and bridge maintenance works;
Prepares work programme;
Supervises road and bridge maintenance works;
Measures and certifies works for payment;
Supervises Weighbridges;
Carries out in situ testing and takes site samples;
Undertakes all regional laboratory tests;
Records and reports on all test results;
Monitors test result and trends;
Maintain laboratory apparatus and equipment;
Prepare invoices for materials testing;
Performs such other related duties as may be assigned by the Head of Engineering.

B: KEY QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE TECHNICIAN

Holder of Certificate of Secondary Education, Ordinary Diploma/ Full Technicians’ Certificate (FTC)/Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualifications.
Must be Computer literate (at least Advance Certificate in Computer Applications);
Must be fluent in both written and spoken Kiswahili and English languages;
Must be a Tanzanian Citizen;
Not above 35 years of age
