Role overview
The Ideal Candidate primary responsibilities will be to drive passengers, run errands and undertake other logistical activities. Consistently ensure that Project vehicle and driving policies and good practice are followed at all times. Manage vehicles as requested, including cleaning; checking toolbox contents are complete also daily checks.

Skills, qualifications and experience
Essential:
Form 4 or 6 certificate, Full valid and clean driving licence and significant level of driving experience with minimum of 4 years and above.

Experience:

  • Familiar with and able to under-take basic 4WD vehicle check.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Country geography
  • Good understanding and Speak-ing English.
  • Holding of secondary School Certificate
  • Able to travel and spend time away from home for extended periods of time
  • Commitment to delivering excellent customer service
  • Flexibility to adapt to new situations, with a positive attitude to working in an international or-ganisation with progressive work standards
  • Commitment to VSO’s values and sensitivity to equal oppor-tunities particularly regarding HIV&AIDS, disability and gender

Desirable

  • Experience working with inter-national Non-Government Organisations

Project Officer

Role overview
The incumbent will support the Tanzania Local Enterprise Development (TLED) Project to reach its objective of facilitating delivery of Business Development Services (BDS) to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Mtwara Region. S/he will also take part in building capacity of the T-LED SMEs which includes selecting and making regular contacts with the SMEs, facilitating training and coaching on areas related to business development, marketing and financial management and organizing exhibition events for the SMEs among others. The project focuses on selected Value Chains related to Foreign Direct Investment (FDIs) in the areas of Oil and Gas, and gives priority to SMEs that show great potential to grow. Additional roles may include supporting day to day activities in the T-LED regional office activities as needed.

Skills, qualifications and experience

  • A bachelor degree in business, marketing, communications, Community Development, Sociology or related subject.
  • 2 years of work experience in a professional environment; preferably in a reputable company/organization. Report writing, monitoring and evaluation. Experience in conducting one-on-one business mentoring, facilitation and training. Commitment to team and building its capacity. Must possess strong written and spoken English and Swahili language skills. Ability to be proactive and use creativity to drive solutions and results. Excellent coordination and planning skills with experience of working under pressure. Time management skills.

Role overview
Ideal Candidate for this role will provide administrative and support to the volunteers on daily basis, coordinating arrival, departure, home country reality discussion, planning and organizing induction for new starters, responsible to respond on health and medical, security support, keeping volunteer personal files and upstate, provide support on processing Volunteer Visa and Work Permits, reporting and demonstrate duty of care to in-out of country Volunteers.
Skills, qualifications and experience

Essential:
Bachelor degree Public Relation, Public Administration, Business Management, Communication, Marketing, Human resource or relevant field.

Planning and Time Management:
Significant experience of an administrative role, managing and prioritizing a varied workload, achieving high quality results, meeting deadlines with minimum supervision.

Numerate:
Confident, experienced and accurate with financial in-formation.

Relationship Building Skills:
Ability to build strong working relationships and partnerships in a multi-cultural environment and work as a collaborative team member. Cultural sensitivity, commitment to diversity.

Communication Skills:
clear, sensitive oral and writ-ten communication skills, fluent in English, confidence in communicating across VSO and externally

Problem Solving:
Ability to develop multiple ideas, comparing and evaluating each to ensure best possible decision.

Flexibility:
Able to adapt to new and demanding situations.

Desirable:

  • Fluency in English languages
