Community Concern of Orphans and Development Association

Community Concern of Orphans and Development Association (COCODA) is a non-governmental organization established in 2000. COCODA’s establishment as its name suggests, resulted from intensifying concern among community members in Njombe over the surging number of orphans, mainly as a consequence to swelling amount of people infected by HIV and dying from AIDS, majority being adults leaving behind young children without parents. This trend had a negative impact on social and economic development. Hence COCODA envisioned to offer effective response to the situation through providing education to local community on HIV/ AIDS, supporting orphans and most vulnerable children, providing vocational skills to youth and establishment of small-scale income generating groups for community sustainable economy.

Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) is a global project funded by the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) which is dedicated to achieving and maintaining HIV epidemic control. It is led by FHI 360 as prime and has a five-year period of performance from April 15, 2019 to April 14, 2024.

EpiC provides strategic technical assistance (TA) and direct service delivery to break through barriers to 95-95-95 and improve HIV case-finding, prevention and linkage to treatment among key and priority populations (PP). In Njombe region the project is implemented by COCODA in 6 councils (Njombe TC, Njombe DC, Makambako TC, Wanging’ombe DC, Ludewa DC and Makete DC) to address critical gaps and bottlenecks in the response to HIV among key and vulnerable populations (KVP) and adolescent girls and young women (AGYW). The EpiC project works closely with the Government of Tanzania (GoT) at national and sub-national levels to deliver HIV and other services tailored to the needs of these groups.

Roles & Responsibilities

Data Officer will be expected to perform the following data duties;

  • Enter all Community engagement and biomedical data on a program database on daily bases.
  • Ensure that all files are arranged in a convenient system so that they can be retrieved quickly.
  • Master all M&E tools and provide orientation to project staff for proper data monitoring to ensure good quality data are collected
  • Provide on job training on data management to Peer Educators and Providers

Position overview

The Procurement Engineer ensures proper alignment of inbound supply chain for products and
raw materials across our business units. In addition, this role drives continuous improvement of our cost position and takes an active part in product improvement and development in support of business strategies. Reports to Procurement Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, lead, and implement business cost reduction strategies through Sourcing to improve our cost position without sacrificing quality.
  • Evaluate, coordinate and support sourcing opportunities in US and low cost regions. Support product development and improvement teams by sourcing new technologies from qualified suppliers while leading the qualification process.
  • Challenge existing suppliers to recommend more cost effective and/or more reliable products that will improve our competitive position. Assist in the evaluation and coordination of these recommendations.
  • Lead vendor initial qualification through the First Article Process, ensuring vendor products meet legislative, customer and ABC Company Engineering requirements.
  • Once qualified, drive supplier actions to verify part and process quality at the supplier’s location to reduce the need for incoming inspection.
  • Work with Sourcing, Engineering and Quality to develop procedures and processes to qualify potential suppliers.

POSITION TITLE: MATERIALS ENGINEER (1 POST)

  • She/he must be a registered Professional Civil Engineer with a degree in Civil Engineering or Pavement or Materials Engineering. Postgraduate qualification in Pavement or Materials Engineering is an added advantage.
  • She/he must have a minimum of seven (7) years of specific experience in Pavement/Materials matters related to road works.
  • She/he must have served in at least two (2) road projects of similar nature, magnitude and complexity in the Last 7 years.
  • She/he shall be responsible for ensuring the quality of all materials to be incorporated in the works, as well as the completed works, conform to the Contract Specifications.
  • In addition, he/she must have a working experience of at least 3 years in Sub-Sahara Countries. Proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory.
