Assistant Facilities Supervisor

Description

The International School of Tanganyika (IST) enjoys a reputation, developed since 1963, as a leading educational institution in Africa, 1ST employs 120 Teaching staff and 184 Support Staff, representing 19 nationalities. 896 students, of 64 nationalities, are currently enrolled at the school.

We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Assistant Facilities Supervisor.

Summary of the post
Alongside the Site Supervisor the post holder will organize, direct and control the daily operations of various facilities activities. The post holder will ensure high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and tidiness are maintained throughout the school and manage the housekeeping and department efficiently to ensure that standards and control costs are maintained. The post holder will have the overall responsibility for the day-to-day cleaning operations, assigning duties and follow-ups, inspect the quality of work of operations staff including guidance to the proper use of resources and materials and school maintenance procedures;
The post holder will routinely provide advice and assistance with completing relevant assignments.
The post holder will ensure that employees work in a safe and efficient manner.
The duties will cover both school and staff houses depending on the area of need/requirement.

Preferred skills/qualifications:

A University Degree.
-Three years of practical experience in Facilities and Maintenance
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; A must be able to speak and write in English and Kiswahili fluently.
Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel,) with the capability to master school specific software and databases and other software.
REMUNERATION
An attractive salary and benefits package within the support staff salary range will be offered to the successful candidate.

TCU: Wanafunzi hatarini kukosa Vyuo 2017/18 | Students at risk of missing college

Acting Executive Secretary of the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) Prof. Mwageni has issued a warning to students who seek to join universities for 2017/2018 educational year to be careful to avoid running out of space.

Prof. Mwageni today has said that if one day left before the close of the second phase of applying. He has explained how the first phase has been challenged where roughly 180,640 applicants had applied.

“The current system you need the applicant to be very careful because he played only a lost opportunity, the model is the first phase we received the names 180,640 from college but had many errors they repeated mistaking their names were we find names 77,756 that it still had shortcomings are mana we adopted names 44,627 and we gave some time to send the application correctly in the next phase “, said Prof. Mwageni.

Mzumbe University wishes to inform all applicants that the call for second round of application is meant for those who did not apply or complete the application process during the first round. For candidates whose applications were not successful in the first round of selection are ADVISED not to make a new application because the University has their details in the MU database. However, they should REGISTER their concerns by sending short text message (SMS) to only one of the following numbers: 0767086469, 0785164074, 0710805711 or 0629130221. In the SMS, please write your correct names as they appear in your form four certificates, your form Four index number (for all sittings) and express your interest to be considered in the second selection and the readiness to study in any of our campuses (Morogoro or Mbeya)

Graduate Degree Scholarships at Oxford University for Tanzanians (Africans)

Brief description:
The Louis Dreyfus-Weidenfeld Scholarship and Leadership Programme supportsoutstanding students from transition and emerging economies throughout Africa, Asia and South America to pursue a graduate degree at Oxford University. It is managed by the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Trust.

Scholarship value/inclusions/duration:
The scholarship will cover 100% of University and college fees and a grant for living costs (of at least £14,533). Awards are made for the full duration of your fee liability for the agreed course.
Eligibility:
You should be applying to start one of the eligible courses at Oxford. You must be ordinarily resident in one of the eligible countries (see the official website for the complete list). You should be intending to return to your country of ordinary residence once your course is completed.
Successful applicants must demonstrate an interest in serving the global community through their chosen field of work. You should be able to demonstrate a connection between your subject of study and your longer-term career objectives, explaining how you see your professional work contributing to the improvement of public life in your country of origin or at a wider regional or international level.
