JOINING INSTRUCTIONS FOR STUDENTS IN CERTIFICATE, DIPLOMA AND BACHELOR DEGREE PROGRAMMES FOR THE 2017/2018 ACADEMIC YEAR.
1.0 IMPORTANT
Every student admitted to a programme of study tenable at the Institute of Finance Management must carefully read, understand and abide by the instructions stated below. Failure to do so will not be accepted as an excuse for breach of part or any of the instructions, rules and regulations proclaimed by the Institute in the Prospectus or any other document.

2.0 REGISTRATION PROCESS
The registration process will start on Monday 16th October, 2017. Students may come to
register and return home until the week of orientation. Before registration all student are required to pay the minimum amount as shown in the appendix B.

3.0 DATE OF ARRIVAL
All students’ are required to report officially at the Institute on Monday 23rd October, 2017 for
orientation. New entrants will attend an orientation week from 23rd October, 2017 to 27th October, 2017. Registration of students and payment of tuition and other fees must be completed as soon as possible to secure their places. Details of the orientation programme will be provided to new entrants on arrival. Take note that it is mandatory for each student to register within the first week of commencement of each semester.

Regional Program Manager One Position Tabora
Knowledge:
Management Support field staff in identifying and documenting best practices/success stories from Sauti-TZ activities.
Required Qualifications
  • Graduate degree in medicine, nursing or other relevant field. Public health degree or related advanced degree also a plus.
  • Five years’ experience in managing health programs including planning, designing, supervising, and evaluating healthcare programs.
  • Acknowledged skills in one of or more of the following areas: , HIV/AIDS , STls and Family Planning related health services
  • Extensive knowledge of the local health systems from the national to the local levels. Previous experience and understanding of policies of international and US donor agencies and private sector foundations preferred.
  • Experience of working in KVP programs, and also working with sub-grantees is an added advantage
  • Demonstrated ability in managing teams to achieve health results
  • Ability to develop productive working relationships with counterparts in other agencies and organizations worldwide.
  • Aware of and sensitive to working in multiple socio-economic settings and with multi-cultural/behavioral groups
  • Proven leadership skills, as well as skills in facilitation, team building and coordination
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills in English and Kiswahili
  • Availability and willingness to travel up to 40% time
Position: Deputy Program Manager one position Based in Kahama
Required Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in program management (e.g. MBA), “healthcare management or other relevant field. Degree in clinical medicine or nursing desirable.
  • At least 5 years demonstrated experience implementing and managing healthcare programs (This includes human resources, procurement and sub-grantee management, development of regional strategies, budget and work plans)
  • Experience in managing a mid-sized office and professional staff
  • Proven leadership in team building, and demonstrated ability to achieve results
  • Extensive knowledge of the local health systems
  • Previous experience and understanding of USG funded programs
  • Experience of working with KVP or related programs
  • Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: HIV/AIDS, STls and/or Family Planning
  • Demonstrated ability to develop working relationships with local government, key stakeholders and other agencies Demonstrated experience in writing quarterly and annual report, as well as documentation of program results
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills in English and Kiswahili
  • Ability to travel up to 60%
Position: Clinical Program Officer one position – Shinyanga MC, Kahama TC, lramba DC, Tabora MC, Moshi MC, and Mbarilli DC
Required Qualifications
  • Medical Doctor, Assistant Medical Officer, Clinical Officer or nurse
  • Master in public health will be an added advantage
  • At least 5 years demonstrated experience working in HIV care and treatment (required) HIV Testing Services, TB and TB/HIV, PMTCT, Community Based HIV Services and family planning programs and/or voluntary medical male circumcision.

The University of Arusha, a Chartered Seventh-day Adventist institution of higher
learningsituated about 30 km from Arusha city, off the Arusha-Moshi highway, is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified individual to fill, with immediate effect, a vacant position in the Directorate of Finance.
JOB TITLE: DIRECTOR OF FINANCE AND ACCOUNTING (DFA)
The Director of Finance and Accounting (DFA) of the University shall be appointed by the
University Council in consultation with the Vice Chancellor and the Chair of Finance and
Development Committee of the Council.
(a) Qualifications
Holder of full Accountancy qualification and must be registered with NBAA as Certified Public
Accountant i.e. CPA (T), ACCA, ACA or equivalent plus at least 5 years work experience in a
similar position.
(b) Remuneration
This will depend on whether the person recruited is employed on church terms or on fixed-term
contract terms. Nevertheless, an attractive package awaits the right candidate for the job.
(c) Work Relationship:
Holder of this position is responsible to the Vice Chancellor through the Deputy Vice
Chancellor for Planning, Administration and Finance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(i) Head of the Finance Directorate of the University.
(ii) Ensuring efficient and economical administration of the directorate.
(iii) Prepares and consolidates the University’s Financial Budget and Cash Flow projections.
(iv) Consolidates the University’s projected Financial Statements.
(v) Preparation of detailed monthly and quarterly Financial Statements and sources and
application of funds statements.
(vi) Custodianship and controller of the University funds and physical resources.
(vii) Custodianship and controller of the University income generating projects.
(viii) Ensuring that accurate and comprehensive information pertaining to finance is promptly
compiled and submitted as required by superiors.
(ix) Maintaining and controlling expenditure within the Approved Budget.
(x) Maintains proper records of all University incomes and expenditures.
(xi) Responsible for and supervises the implementation of on-going University projects.
(xii) Advising the Chief Executive Officer (VC) on the implementation and status of all
University projects.
(xiii) Advising the Chief Executive Officer (VC) on optimum insurance cover on University
funds, physical and Human Resource.
(xiv) Maintaining an up to date University’s assets register.
(xv) Ensures the maintenance of all records pertaining to the University’s accounts to
facilitate the auditing or University’s books by the Internal Auditors, External Auditors,
and other relevant regulatory authorities.
(xvi) Ensures timely payment of Creditors, Salaries and Statutory obligations and maintaining
books of accounts on the basis of accounting principles.
(xvii) Appraises staff performance in Finance and Accounting Directorate.
(xviii) Advises the Administrative Committee on University income and expenditure on a
weekly basis.
(xix) Keeps the Chief Executive Officer well informed about all Financial and Accounting
matters.
(xx) Does any other duties as may be assigned by the superior office from time to time.
