(ii) Receives telephone calls and book outgoing telephones as required.
(iii) Handles incoming mails with personal attention of the officer and ensure that mails and any related correspondences are well managed and delivered personally to the intended officer.
(iv) Follows up outstanding correspondences.
(v) Receives visitors, ascertain the nature of their business and relay information to the boss concerned.
(vi) Answers routine correspondence such as acknowledgements and sending out reminders.
(vii) Performs any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
C. Qualifications
Form IV certificate ,CSEE) or Form VI certificate (ACSEE) with passes in English and Kiswahili plus Basic Technician Certificate in Secretarial Studies from a recognized Institution with a typing speed of 80 w.p.m; manuscript and tabulation stage III, Secretarial duties and office practice stage II, English or Kiswahili shorthand speed of 80 w.p.m. Passes of 100/120 will be added advantage. Computer operating Certificate in Microsoft Office Windows Platform is essential.
FOUNDRYMAN II – 1 POST
A. Reports to: Workshop Foreman
B. Duties and Responsibilities
(i) Operates melting furnace and charge preparation.
(ii) Operates shot blasting machine and other fettling duties.
(iii) Instructs Foundry man of lower grade in foundry shop practice.
(iv) Prepares sand, mould and core and should be able to operates sand

C. Qualifications
Form IV education with Trade Test grade I, plus six (6) years working experience in that grade in a reputable foundry. Knowledge in melting point temperatures and color code will be an added advantage.
FITTER TURNER II – 2 POSTS
A. Report to: Workshop Foreman Machineshop
B. Duties and Responsibilities
(i) Operates various machine tools and equipment’s in the workshop such as gear hobber, bevel gear generator, gear shaper etc.
(ii) Operates sophisticated machine tools such as CNC machines under supervision.
(iii) Design and supervises the manufacture of simple fixtures, jigs and tools for the job in hand.
(iv) Performs simple calculations required for setting up gear machines, differential indexing head, screw cutting taper turning, etc
C. Qualifications
Form IV education with Trade Test Grade I in Fitter/ Turner plus six (6) years of working experience as Fitter/Turner in a reputable Organization.
ASSISTANT WELDER II – 1 POST
A.Report to: Workshop Foreman Fabrication
B. Duties and Responsibilities
(i) Fabricates and welds special materials such as armored plates, stainless steel aluminum and copper
(ii) To inspect and recognize defects’ on work done by junior welders.
(iii) To identify workshop machines malfunctions and reports to Foreman.
(iv) Prepares and layout work pieces which requires special attention and accuracy before welding for junior welders.
C. Qualifications
Form IV education with Trade Test Grade II and working experience of at least three (3) years in a reputable organization. Knowledge of welding nonferrous materials like aluminum is an added advantage.

    A. Report to: Senior Accountant
B. Duties and Responsibilities
(i) Preparation of payment vouchers, journal vouchers, cheques, receipts and any other source of documents.
(ii) Assist in maintaining proper books of accounts and keeping off all records pertaining to income and expenditure.
(iii) Paty cash management and ensuring reimbursement is timely and accurately done.
(iv) Assisting on cash banking and cash office duties.
(v) Safe keep accounting documents and registers
(vi) Assist in all financial and accounting operations of the accounts department.
(vii) Performs any other official duties as assigned by supervisors.
C. Qualifications
Form IV education with NBAA Accounting Technician Certificate Level II (ATEC II) plus at least three (3) years working experience in a reputable firm.

POSITION OBJECTIVE: Responsible for execution of all electrical works/activities in the Power Plants, with objective smooth operational of power generating equipment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
a) Respond promptly to emergence calls during emergence breakdowns to ensure restoration of fault equipment within minimum time possible.
b) Attend the plant Maintenance works as schedule, keep maintenance records, equipment status updating and submit work reports after repairs or preventive maintenance.
c) Ensure all the control cubicles in control room, relay room and entrance building are locked, free from dust and cobwebs on the outside and inside, also make sure all the equipment in these cubicles are in a good order.
d) Reading arid interpreting all drawings and manuals necessary for smooth execution of the plants.
e) Execute properly preventive maintenance of electrical equipment in a planned time to ensure emergence breakdowns are avoided.
f) Responsible for going through the defect book in control room and attend defects recorded in the defect book.
g) Identify all faults/defects of the equipment and carry out necessary repairs.
h) ‘Also responsible for carrying out installation and testing of new electrical equipment.
i) Observe safety regulations when carrying out maintenance duties to ensure no accidents to people and equipment.
j) Maintain and keep in safe custody all equipment and working tools under your jurisdiction

1 POSITION OBJECTIVE
To ensure that all scheduled activities related to civil works at the plant are carried out effectively and efficiently.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
a) Prepare weekly maintenance Schedules and depict them on notice board for subordinates to realize the works has to execute daily.
b) Ensure preventive; maintenance of all civil structure is executed as per schedule and that emergency breakdowns are attended timely.
c) Make sure that maintenance record sheets are filled daily after execution of maintenance (both PM & Emergency breakdowns) works.
d) Ensure availability of adequate tools for civil maintenance.
e) Initiate RTPs and SIVs for regular needs of materials and spare parts. Also you will be responsible to initiate appropriate works orders (CWOs and R& M) as per approved budgets and forward them for approval and authorization.
f) Ensure high standard of cleanliness and good appearance of all plant buildings, i.e all plant offices, power house, staff houses and other related surroundings.
g) Observe safety regulations when carrying out maintenance duties so as to avoid injuries or fatal accidents.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) To drive company vehicles to support various business operations of the plant.
b) Maintains accurate, up-to-date records on trip sheets, transportation forms, vehicle maintenance, incident reports, accident reports, vehicle condition reports and other records for proper management of vehicle and management decision;
c) To operate assigned vehicle in a safe and courteous manner observing all traffic regulations to avoid accidents and loss to the company;
d) To maintain high standard of service to both internal and external Customers;
e) To perform minor maintenance works on assigned vehicles to ensure the vehicle is in good condition all the time to support business operations in the region;
f) To maintain fuel consumption of the assigned vehicle and reports all abnormalities to the relevant supervisors;
g) To monitor the schedule for minor and major vehicle maintenance to avoid service regular interruptions;
h) To keep vehicle clean, tidy and in good working condition at all times and readily available for any assignment in the business operations;

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Repair all plant machinery under the directives from the mechanical Technician.
b) Fabrication of all metal equipment and tools required for effective machinery operations.
c) Report to the Mechanical Technician any defects on the plant machinery for the purpose of securing the components, spares and accessories necessary for accomplishment of daily duties.
d) Execute all daily works as schedule and report all accomplished works to the mechanical Technician.
e) Involve in preventive maintenance of plants according to maintenance yearly calendar
KEY KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED FORTHE JOB
• Certificate of Secondary Education Form IV or VI

The University of Dodoma (UDOM) wishes to announce the call for application for The University of Dodoma Humanities Scholarship for undergraduate students for the 17/2018 academic year.

1.0 INTRODUCTION
The University of Dodoma Humanities scholarship aims to support the needy students who have been selected to join humanities degree programmes (BA in Literature, BA in Kiswahili Linguistics, BA in Kiswahili Literature, BA in English, BA in Theatre and Film, BA in Fine Arts and Designs, BA in History and BA in Cultural Heritage and Tourism), but could not be able to secure sponsorship from the Higher Education Students Loan Board (HESLB).

2.0 TYPE OF SCHOLARSHIP
Students who are nominated for this scholarship will pay only 60% of the tuition fee. 40% will be paid by the University of Dodoma. The scholarship will last for only three years of study at the University of Dodoma. Students failing to complete their studies within three years shall cease to be beneficiaries of the scholarship.

3.0 ELIGIBILITY
1. Undergraduate students who are not beneficiaries of Higher Learning Students
loan Board (HESLB).
2. Outstanding students admitted to pursue BA in Literature, BA in Kiswahili Linguistics, BA in Kiswahili Literature, BA in English, BA in Theatre and Film, BA in Fine Arts and Designs, BA in History and BA in Cultural Heritage and Tourism.
3. First year undergraduate Students.

The Role
To implement effective H&S arrangements, which includes H&S risk management, and provide
Oversee consistency of delivery of H&S matters within their area of responsibility, identify and pursue significant issues.
Evaluate & monitor H&S communication to validate their effectiveness for the level of risk in their area of responsibility.


Responsibilities
• Review and develop all aspects of the company health and safety policy and activity, and ensure that it is implemented consistently across the company.
• Monitor, evaluate and reviewing existing, new and upcoming Healthy and Safety legislation and ensure that the Company has systems and procedures in place to meet legal compliance.
• Work proactive with managers and other key staff to establish and maintain a programme of continuous improvement in the management of Health and Safety within their areas of responsibility, which in eludes conducting regular audits.
• Ensure that rigorous risk assessment and accident management systems are in place to .enable faculty and Resource areas, including outreach centres, to undertake risk assessment processes to identify hazards and to ensure that appropriate control measures are in place.
• Maintain a central record of all risk assessments and monitor recording within workplace
• Discuss areas for improvement with relevant staff and/or external bodies and agree appropriate corrective-action.
• Assist with fire risk assessments according to an agreed schedule and in line with legal requirements.
• Liaise with Occupational Health Service staff on health surveillance where a risk assessment has identified a need, including carrying out stress risk assessments when required. Maintain appropriate records.
• Design and deliver training sessions on key areas of the Company activity in relation to health and safety and support the delivery of other training programmes, including new staff induction and Duty Manager Training.
• Any other duties assigned by the Management.

Qualification
Bachelor Degree/Diploma Transport Management

Experience A minimum of 5 work experience as health and safety manager in logistic Company.
