JOB TITTLE:Quality Officer

The Quality Officer’s role is to coordinate and support the implementation of the Food Quality and Safety Management System (FQSMS) in UTTL.

Accountabilities

  • Implementation of Food Safety ISO standards certification in UTT where applicable
  • Implementation of the food safety and quality verification program
  • Support Estate and Factory production process to deliver quality tea products that meet customer and consumer requirements.

POLICY

  • To implement all company policies and procedures in the factory and ensure that all employees adhere to them at all times.

PLANNING

  • To participate in the implementation of the UTT FQSMS internal audits as scheduled, drive closure of actions to improve the FQSMS.
  • To Communicate any FQS related information in UTT
  • Coordinate implementation of FQSMS  in UTT and ensure documentation of the improvements.
  • Undertake other responsibilities as may be assigned by the line manager.

PRODUCTION

  • Implement Good Manufacturing practices in all sections of manufacture in the production shifts.
  • Collecting and monitoring of production process data, analyze and generate daily, weekly and monthly quality reports.

QUALITY & ISO

  • Support the Implementation Quality and Consumer safety Management System and ISO in the Field and Factory as per Unilever, legal and other requirements.
  • Support unit FSQMS reviews as per requirements.
  • Support field and factory teams in the process for production of quality made tea in line with customer and consumer specifications.
  • Support the Implementation the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) system in the units.
  • Review and Monitor CTT and TBO tea tasting report and close  gaps through scheduled reviews with factories, monitoring/measurement and documented corrective actions.
  • Initiates and implement quality improvement plans and activities in the units in liaison with the unit manager.

STOCKS & ASSETS

  • Monitor stock levels, approval, movement and use. Validate stock and non-stock items.

  • Responsible for the company assets in the unit of responsibility.
  • Flag redundant / obsolete assets to manager for disposal.

PROJECTS

  • Implement projects as agreed with Line manager.

  • Implement relevant aspects of the accounting manual.

PEOPLE

  • Implements employee establishment in QA.
  • To facilitate implementation of all company policies, regulations, guidelines and standards such as social, financial and Unilever Code of Business Principles among others.

SAFETY, HEALTH & ENVIRONMENT & RA

  • Implement of Safety, Health & Environmental management systems  as per Unilever standards and legislation within the area of responsibility.

  • Experience in Tea Tasting & Manufacture is an added advantage.

JOB TITTLE:Financials and Controls Officer

Business Context and Main Purpose of the Job.

To obtain maximum yield potential, consistent deliverance of crop volume with high quality standard while ensuring good agricultural practices are well implemented at all times.

Main Accountabilities.

  • Do business partnering with Procurement department in purchasing saving, improvement on credit terms and effective sourcing of suppliers.

  • Ensure receivables and stocks reconciliations are done on monthly, any variance is reported and re-solved.
  • Ensure monthly reconciliations are done for all Main suppliers and contractors and a Quarterly reconciliation is done for all suppliers and contractors.
  • Review provisions and accruals before posting into the ledger and ensure monthly reconciliations are done.
  • Validate a monthly sales forecast number ensure forecasted numbers do make sense and achievable within the month.
  • Project Appraisal and building the Business cases and ensure that all projects are being approved before spending.
  • Taking lead in Capex forecasting and external capex reporting.
  • Build capacity among all project teams and participate in regular project, meetings to track spend updatepartners.
  • Ensure UTTL internal and group controls/polices are being adhered and followed all the time eg. Fuel management policy, travel policy, medical, staff advances etc.
  • Conduct trainings on best practice accounting procedures to the finance team and accounts/store clerksat factories and estates. Do a spot audit on various items and ensure compliance of the procedures/controls.
  • Ensure Assets tagging and stock counting exercise are being done twice a year and reports are signed andapproved.
  • Ensure capitalization of assets are being done timely and a review of AR reconciliation is performed on monthly basis.

The Site Safety Operations supports the Site SHE Manager or Coordinator in managing Safety & Health improvement activities to achieve excellence at the site level. S/he works with site SHE teams to identify and implement improvement plans in order to achieve sustainable SHE excellence by reducing injuries and illnesses as measured in the core KPIs

  • Support the deployment of the global/cluster SHE strategy, policy and standards in the site to achieve excellent sustainable results.

The Eiffel scholarship program is a tool developed by the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs to enable French higher education institutions to attract the best foreign students to graduate courses at master’s and doctoral level. It helps to train future foreign decision-makers, from the private and public sectors, in priority fields of study, and to stimulate applications from students from emerging countries aged 25 years or less for the master’s level and from emerging and industrialized countries. aged 30 at most for doctoral level.

The Eiffel Program was established by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs to help French institutions of higher education in their efforts to attract top foreign students to their master’s and doctoral programs.

Its purposes are (i) to train future foreign decision-makers in the private and public spheres in priority areas of study and (ii) to attract applicants from developing countries to French master’s programs level and applicants from developing and industrialized countries to French doctoral programs.

The Eiffel Excellence Scholarship Program (Eiffel Program) has two
components:
• The master’s component offers 12 to 36 months of funding to enable scholarship holders to earn a master’s-level degree.
• The doctoral component supports up to 12 months of doctoral research in France as part of a joint doctoral program.

Fields of study for Master and Doctorial
The two spheres of Eiffel scholarships are available in the following seven fields:

  • Science and techniquesBiology and health
  • Ecological transition
  • Mathematics and digital
  • Science and engineering
  • • Human and social sciences
  • History, French language and civilization
  • Law and political sciences
  • Economics and management

Levels of study
French institutions nominating candidates for the Eiffel Program commit to admit
them to:
• a master’s degree program
• an engineering program
• a joint doctoral program (joint supervision of dissertation and/or dual degree), in partnership with a partner institution abroad

Duration of the scholarship
For both components of the program, the scholarship is awarded for the academic
year corresponding to the call for applications.
The funded study period must begin between September 1 and December 31 of the year in which the scholarship is awarded. The start date cannot be postponed.
The scholarship may be used solely for academic work performed in France, except in certain cases involving internships and exchange periods, as detailed further on.





Eligibility

Eligibility
Nationality. The Eiffel Program is reserved for non-French nationals. Candidates with two nationalities of which one is French are not eligible.
Age. Candidates for the master’s component must be 25 or under at the time of the 2022 competition—that is, they must have been born after the 31 of March 1996.
Candidates for the doctoral component must be 30 or under at the time of the 2022 competition; they must have been born after the 31 of March 1991.
Source of applications. Only applications submitted by French educational institutions will be accepted. These institutions commit to admitting awardees to the academic program specified in the application. Applications from any other source shall not be considered. Any candidate nominated by more than one institution shall be disqualified.
Academic levels targeted. Eiffel Program scholarships are intended for students seeking to enroll in a master’s-level program in France (including at a school of engineering) and for doctoral candidates. Only programs recognized by the French government are eligible. The Eiffel Program cannot be used at French-run programs abroad or in connection with apprenticeship contracts or professional training
contracts.
Scholarship conflicts. Applications nominating students who, at the time of application, have already been awarded another French government scholarship will not be accepted, even if the other scholarship covered only health insurance.
Master’s component. An application nominating a student rejected in a previous competition will not be accepted, even if the application was submitted by a different institution or in another field of study. Students who have previously received an
Eiffel master’s scholarship are not eligible to receive another at the master’s level.

Master’s component
The scholarship is awarded for:
• a maximum of 12 months for awardees entering the second year of a master’s program (M2)
• a maximum of 24 months for awardees entering the first year of a master’s program (M1)
• a maximum of 36 months for awardees entering an engineering program.
Each period of the scholarship is contingent upon the awardee meeting the academic requirements of the previous period.

Benefits

Master’s component
The Eiffel scholarship consists of a monthly allowance of €1,181 (a maintenance allowance of €1,031 plus a stipend of €150). In addition, the following benefits are provided:
• International air travel. Round-trip international air travel between the awardee’s home country and France. The student awardee has one year from the end of the scholarship to take advantage of the return trip benefit.
• Train travel within France. Campus France will provide a train ticket to the awardee’s first study location and a second ticket from the last study location to the airport from which the awardee will return to his or her home country.
• Local transportation. Reimbursement of up to €50 of the cost of travel via taxi or public transportation from the airport or train station to the first study location.
• Health insurance. For awardees from outside the European Economic Area, Campus France will provide health insurance coverage until the effective date of the awardee’s enrollment in the French Social Security system.
• Supplemental health insurance (“mutuelle”). Within 2 months of arriving in France, student awardees are required to subscribe to a supplemental health insurance plan, the cost of which is reimbursed upon presentation of proof of enrollment up to a maximum amount set each year by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The maximum is unrelated to the length of enrollment. Campus France may suspend payment of living expenses and related services if the student awardee does not provide proof of enrollment in a supplemental insurance plan within 2 months of his or her arrival in France.
• Cultural activities

Doctoral component
The Eiffel scholarship includes a monthly allowance of €1,700 (since 1 January 2021). In addition, it provides the following direct benefits:

SELECTION

  • The Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs appoints experts for the selection of scholarship holders for the program. Each expert is a research professor, and holder of an authorization to supervise research for the doctoral component, and has proven international experience. He is appointed for a non-renewable period of 4 years. Consult the jury list for the 2021 session .

Funding and management

This 5-year programme is initiated and funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and managed by Nuffic.





Scholarship Worth

  1. The scholarship is a contribution towards the costs of the course or programme and covers costs as specified in Annex 1: Fixed reimbursements. For master’s degree programmes: this applies to first academic year only (in case of programmes that are longer than 1 year). All other costs are the responsibility of the scholarship holder.
  2. Allowances and reimbursements only apply to the actual number of days or months the scholarship holder attended the course or programme within the Orange Knowledge Programme grant period. The Dutch institution determines how the reimbursements are paid (e.g. in cash, in kind, by bank transfer etc).
  3. The fixed reimbursements for subsistence allowance, study materials and if relevant e-learning facilities as stated in Annex 1: Fixed reimbursements are paid by the Dutch institution to or on behalf of the scholarship holder. The other fixed reimbursements are allocated by Nuffic to the Dutch institution.

Global Resource Alliance, Inc.(GRA) is a non-profit organization headquartered in Ojai, California. It was founded in April 2002 to provide financial and technical support to community organizations in the world’s least developed regions working for social, economic and environmental change. GRA’s local organization has partnered with Belgian NGO, WeForest, since 2011 to plant trees with institutions, such as schools and churches, and individuals and farmer groups, who have collectively planted over 1 million trees through their Tree Program throughout the Mara Region in Tanzania. These seedlings are grown in two nurseries, one in Utegi (Rorya) and one in Butiama. Majority of tree seedlings have been distributed to individual farmers who come to the nurseries to pick the tree seedlings at subsidized price as per species of their choice. Some of the seedlings have been distributed to institutions (schools, churches and other government institutions) for free. Beneficiaries are given basic training on transplanting and managing tree seedlings, and establishing their own tree nursery. The seedlings and trees are monitored over time to verify tree mortality rates and offer technical support to beneficiaries on how to best manage and benefit from their trees.

A Tree Program Trainer is needed to carry out training to the beneficiaries of the Tree Planting Program. Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

Project Responsibilities

  • Train groups, students at the schools and individual farmers in Butiama, Rorya,Tarime, Bunda and Musoma districts on tree planting and best silviculture  practices.
  • Train individual farmers and groups on best agroforestry practices
  • Distribute tree seedlings to customers including schools, churches, government offices, individual farmers and groups and keep proper records of all distributed tree seedlings
  • Organize campaign to educate community on the importance of tree planting and agro forestry
  • Conduct regular monitoring of planted trees and advice responsible persons accordingly
  • Participate in tree survival assessment exercises on regular basis
  • Supervise and coach nursery attendants on daily basis and ensure all nursery interventions are properly done
  • Manage tree planting database at you working station by fill in all required information regarding tree planting
  • Write project analytical report on weekly, monthly, quarterly basis
  • Document project success stories to describe project impact in your area of work
