What You’ll Do

    • Lead the development and production of all content and campaigns on Tujibebe’s platforms, supported by Girl Effect’s global creative team and a local agency.

Position Summary:

The Senior Water Engineer will monitor field-level water supply and sanitation construction activities. S/He will report to the Water Services Technical Lead and closely coordinate support activities with the engineering team, providing analyses and reviews of construction activities at key points in the construction management schedule. S/he will play a critical role in tracking and advising Winrock International to ensure successful and timely implementation.

This position will be approximately 30 hours/week and 75% travel. The position will require frequent travel to remote locations across Morogoro and Iringa Regions.Transport will be facilitated from Morogoro Town using project vehicles.

Role overview

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY

    • Chief Executive Officer of MTUWASA.
    • Planning, co-coordinating, directing, managing, and controlling the Authority’s activities of providing continuous supply of clean, safe and adequate water for domestic, commercial, industrial and related purposes and efficient removal and hygienic disposal and treatment of waste water.
    • Ensuring effective overall management and supervision of all the Authority’s activities so as to conform to the policy guidelines laid down by the Ministry of Water, the Board of Directors and all relevant legal requirements.
  • Overseeing the planning and execution of new water supply and sewerage projects. Directs the formulation of policy proposals for consideration by the Board in relation to physical and financial functions of the Authority.
  • Interprets policies laid down by the Board and issues, internal regulations and procedural instructions thereof.
  • Prepares annual budgets for the Authority and submits them to the Board for approval. Reviews regularly, actual performance against plans and budgets and submits reports to the Board detailing performance with recommendations for actions necessary to correct adverse variance.
  • Ensure that Authority’s activities are environmentally friendly and conform to the rules.
  • Acts as the final authority for management decisions within the Authority, safeguards the Authority’s financial position and ensures that it discharges its financial obligations.
  • Ensures all Authority’s financial transactions are authorized and controlled in accordance with the agreed procedures and those proper systems of internal controls are maintained.
  • Performing any other related duties as may be assigned by the Board of Directors and Ministry of Water.

Qualification

Muheza is one of the ten districts of Tanga Region in Tanzania. It is bordered to the north by Mkinga District, to the east by the Tanga and the Indian Ocean, to the south by the Pangani District and Handeni District, and to the west by the Korogwe District. The administrative capital of the district is Muheza town.
