One Young World European Commission Peace Ambassador Scholarship 2022 for young leaders (Fully Funded to Manchester, United Kingdom)

The One Young World Peace Ambassador Scholarship, delivered in partnership with the European Commission, aims to empower young people to build more cohesive and peaceful societies.

Scholarship recipients will participate in the One Young World Summit 2022, which will see 2,000 young leaders from 190+ countries descend on Manchester for the global forum for young leaders. During the Summit, delegates will present and debate solutions to our time’s most pressing issues alongside senior leaders. Scholarship recipients will join a community of over 200 Peace Ambassadors who have participated in the programme since 2017. The 2022 Peace Ambassador Programme will have a focus on the role of disinformation in fuelling hate speech, conflict and violent extremism.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Aged 18 – 30** by 5 September.
  • Candidates need to be actively engaged in the fields of peace building, conflict resolution, tackling disinformation, or countering violent extremism.
  • Available to join the programme full time between 4 and 8 September 2022
  • Nationals of countries considered to be ‘developing or emerging’ according to the International Monetary Fund’s World Economic Outlook and selected countries that are affected by conflict are eligible to apply. See ‘Eligible Nationalities’ below.

The Global Good Fund creates a better world by investing in society’s most innovative entrepreneurs. The Global Good Fund Fellowship is for innovators, entrepreneurs, and leaders of positive social impact organizations. This program is for emerging leaders, entrepreneurs who are 40 or under, with diverse ethnic, religious, economic, geographic and gender experiences. Requirements

  • The Global Good Fund Fellowship is open to social enterprise leaders based anywhere in the world, who are trying to make the world a better place through business.
  • Ideal Fellows are dedicated to their own self-discovery and development, under 40 years of age, hold a leadership position at their social enterprise, operating for 3-5 years and demonstate coachability.

Applicant criteria:

Phase II of the application has a video and written component.

You will be asked to record a short that addresses the following topics:

  •  – Your motivation to set-up your enterprise
  • – The mission and objectives of your enterprise
  • – The reasons why you and your enterprise are unique
  • and address a specific problem more effectively than other enterprises.

You will provide written answers to questions that assess your leadership, the enterprise, and social impact.
Each candidate’s video and written application will be reviewed and scored on a 1-5 scale, 1 being the lowest score and 5 being the highest score. Candidates with the highest cumulative scores will advance to Phase III.

PHASE III: INTERVIEW

October – November
Part III of the application consists of a 30-minute video interview. Candidates will be required to invite 1 attendee to their interview. This must be someone who knows the candidate and their work. It can be a colleague or a community member impacted by their work. Both the candidate and attendee are expected to be present throughout the  interview.

Ensure all statutory and mandatory checks are part of the asset care management system, are performed and all documentation completed and recorded.

Ensure that health, safety and housekeeping receive appropriate focus through regular checks and audits, with appropriate monthly/quarterly meetings.

Where unsafe work practices have been identified, the Maintenance Controller is responsible for correcting this.

Skills, Experience & Education The incumbent should have at least an Engineering degree (Mechanical or Electrical) and 5 years of experience in maintenance of packaging equipment. About the Role

The Senior Recruitment Associate is a key position within the GAIN HR Recruitment function.

Reporting to the Recruitment Manager, this is a pure recruitment role where the post holder will be working closely with the Recruitment team to deliver on a high volume of recruitment activity as well as supporting the HR team with general projects. This is an exciting opportunity to help contribute to the development of the recruitment function.

Specific Responsibilities include;

 

  • Leading GAIN’s full recruitment lifecycle activities across countries in Africa (and other designated areas as may be required), the post holder will be responsible for leading on a number of open vacancies at all levels
  • Maintaining consistent KPIs in speed/quality of hire and establishing strong business partnering standards
  • Managing the delivery of complex end-to-end recruitment processes in a number of international locations (primarily across the Africa regions) in a highly organised and efficient manner (including advertising, shortlisting, interview screening and scheduling and onboarding)
  • Building and maintaining a database of high-quality candidates to rapidly respond to recruiting needs
  • Establishing relationships with external service providers (recruitment agencies, job boards etc) ensuring the best cost to hire, in addition to the delivery of an effective and quality service
  • Collaborating with the Africa HR Business Partner, GAIN’s country office teams and the leadership team to understand current and future hiring requirements through workforce planning activity and conduct job evaluations in line with GAIN’s classification scheme
  • Developing innovative recruitment campaigns and strategies to support with niche hires
  • Providing specialist guidance/expertise on job design, pipelining and sourcing channels appropriate to GAIN’s in-country requirements.
  • Providing expert guidance and coaching to hiring managers and interview panels on the recruitment policies, recruitment and selection processes, design and delivery of competency / strength-based interviews and assessments

 

About You

You should be an experienced in-house recruitment specialist ideally having worked within the not for-profit, development or public sector. You should also have in-depth knowledge of the African recruitment space with the ability to work effectively within an international, matrix structure environment.

Alongside this, you must be experienced in 360 recruitment practices internationally and have strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Proven experience of applying job evaluation methodologies (Hay method, Birches etc) would be an asset and you will have a keen interest working in a standalone recruitment specialist role.

In addition to the above, you should be educated to at least Bachelor’s degree level in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field, or possess equivalent relevant work experience. Fluency in both written and spoken English is essential, as are excellent IT skills.

The starting salary on offer for this role is as follows:

Kenya – 2,849,328 – 3,259,800 KES per annum, dependent on experience

Tanzania – 25,325 – 28,959 USD per annum, dependent on experience

Ethiopia – 661,224 – 756,216 ETB per annum, dependent on experience

Duties

 

  • The incumbent assists the Community Liaison Office Coordinator(s) (CLO) in developing and maintaining key contacts and

Princeton Arts Fellowships 2023/2026

The Princeton Society of Fellows in the Liberal Arts, an interdisciplinary group of scholars in the humanities and social sciences, invites applications for the 2023-26 fellowship competition. Five fellowships are to be awarded:

Two or three Open Fellowships in any discipline represented in the Society
One Fellowship in Humanistic Studies
One Fellowship in East Asian Studies
One Fellowship in Race and Ethnicity Studies

Three to five postdoctoral fellows are appointed each year for three-year terms in residence to pursue research and teach half-time in their academic host department, the Program in Humanistic Studies, or other university programs. The fellowships carry with them an appointment as lecturer in a fellow’s academic host department.

Requirements

Applicants already holding the Ph.D. degree at the time of their application must have received their degree between January 1, 2021 and August 2, 2022. Priority will be given to applicants who have received no more than one year of research-only funding past the Ph.D. degree.

The receipt of the Ph.D. is determined by the date on which all requirements for the degree, including the defense and filing of the dissertation, were fulfilled.

Applicants with a Ph.D. will be asked to upload a document to the application site with evidence of completion of all requirements for the Ph.D. degree (either the formal Ph.D. certificate, an official transcript, or a degree confirmation letter by the advisor).

Applicants who are ABD (All But Dissertation) at the time of their application:  Applicants who do not meet the August 2, 2022 deadline for receipt of their Ph.D., but are expected to have fulfilled all conditions for the degree by June 15, 2023, including defense and filing of dissertation, may still apply for a postdoctoral fellowship, provided they have completed a substantial portion of their dissertation (at least half).

  • Fellows are expected to reside in or near Princeton during the academic year in order to attend weekly seminars and participate fully in the intellectual life of the Society.

5. Research Project for the Fellowship Term: two to three double-spaced pages; no bibliography necessary. We expect this research statement will usually take the form of a proposal for revising the dissertation in preparation for publication. However, if you have given serious thought to a second research project beyond the dissertation, and/or already prepared the dissertation for publication, you may devote some or most of the three pages to this new project.
