Background: about Doctors with Africa CUAMM Trustees

Doctors with Africa CUAMM Trustees is a health organisation that implement health projects to help availability of quality healthcare especially to the most vulnerable. CUAMM Trustees focuses on designing health system strengthening projects, with particular attention to the needs of women and children, and tailored to the specific needs of the countries where the organization carries out projects. Through its evidence-based approach, CUAMM works to remove the barriers preventing communities from accessing health services, and to improve the quality of the same services, to achieve accessible, quality and equitable healthcare for everyone.

CUAMM is currently carrying on a HIV Test & Treat Project in the Regions of Shinyanga and Simiyu, with the aim of implementing testing and counselling services in the two regions and supporting six Care and Treatment Clinics (CTC). One of the components of the project consists of a HIV Differentiated Service Delivery Model for PLHIV to decentralize the ARV treatment (CLUB model).
CUAMM is seeking qualified candidates to fill the following position:

Reporting to:

Position Summary

  • Contribution in clinical activities of the CLUBs
  • Report to Shinyanga Test & Treat Office for monthly medical supervision and data collection
  • Supervise the clinical activities of the CLUBs of RRH/Bugisi HC, collaborating with the CLUB’s staff
  • Support clinical work in RRH / Bugisi HC Wards with a special focus on HIV clients

Specific tasks

  • Organize weekly meeting with CLUB staff (CLUB nurse and CLUB responsible) in order to supervise CLUB activities and overcome challenges encountered at community level
  • Participate at monthly meetings with Treatment coordinator and data clerk for CLUB data collection and supervision
  • Support clinical activities in CTC and in the ward with focus on clients with HIV
  • Supervise CTC organization, clinical decision-making process for difficult HIV clients, prevention mother to child transmission (PMTCT), diagnosis of treatment and prevention of opportunistic infections among HIV clients
  • Support HIV children clinic activities in RRH/Bugisi HC CTC
  • Support data entering (CTC data clerk)
  • Support the Treatment coordinator in data quality supervision and managing
  • Support the Treatment coordinator in generating reports

Specific tasks per RRH duty station

  • Organize and supervise the donation of drugs to CTC pharmacy and internal medicine wards, collaborating with CUAMM nurse and hospital staff for RRH hospital

Specific tasks per Bugisi duty station

  • Support and guide the process of drug ordering (CTC pharmacy)

Required qualifications and experience

  • Medical school degreeExperience in CTC setting
  • Previous experience with international NGOs is preferred

General Description of the Job: He/She will be responsible for the interventions towards community health promotion and gender under the Bread for the World funded project “Adaptation to Climate Change for Improved Livelihoods in Semi – Arid Chemba and Kondoa Districts of Dodoma Region,Tanzania”.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Work under the general supervision of the Chief of Pedagogical Department and will require independent initiative in the preparation, and implementation of community health promotion and gender activities in the target areas.
  • Undertake gender analysis as to who plays a central role on community health in relation to access to resource and assessing community understanding of spread and control of communicable and noncommunicable diseases.
  • Develop and disseminate health, nutrition, and gender promotional materials for rural communities through use of varieties of media (banners, fliers, local radios, audios, mobile vehicles, etc.) is highly preferred.
  • Undertake community awareness raising and training sessions on management of non-curative diseases including COVID-19 and HIV/AIDS.
  • Conduct community dialogues on community health promotion and facilitate village health centres to undertake health afya check for non-communicable screening.
  • Conduct trainings on gender roles, household resource control and ownership.
  • Conduct training on women rights (Land and other assets).
  • Establish and work together with a network of LGA community development officers to raise awareness and coach community leaders on the importance adherence to health, gender and nutrition requirements.
  • He/She will establish women and youth peer groups to promote community health, high-nutrition diets and gender.
  • He/She will support establishment of household high nutritious traditional vegetable gardens.
  • Raise community awareness and consumption of diversified, nutrient dense and nutritionally adequate diets.
  • Work with the M&E officer to monitor beneficiary adoption of the new nutrition targeted practices and vegetable consumption methodologies.
  • Promoting food safety including appropriate methods of handling, preservation, processing, storage and utilization of foods.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by direct supervisor.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Major responsibilities of the Fundraising Coordinator are:

  • Manage and lead fundraising efforts and donor (both in country and across the CARE network) at country level including planning, managing and ensuring the delivery of an agreed target organizational budget.
  • Develop and roll out donor engagement strategies and support the Country Director and Assistant Country Director- Program in managing donor and potential donor relations Lead on fundraising strategy and implementation for CARE-TZ
  • Build capacity of the CARE- TEteam on fundraising, engage with donors, and support proposal development with partners.
  • Reporting to the Country Director, she/he will also work closely with the Evidence, Influence and Communication Coordinator to facilitate the documentation of promising practices and lessons learned in programme development, grant management and funds acquisition.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 0 years of work experience as a fundraiser or business development specialist.

Organizational Setting and Work Relationships

The Protection Associate will report to the Community-Based Protection Officer. The incumbent monitors protection standards, operational procedures and practices in protection delivery in line with international standards and provides functional protection support to information management and programme staff.

The Protection Associate is expected to coordinate quality, timely and effective protection responses to the needs of populations of concern (PoC) and identify opportunities to mainstream protection methodologies and integrate protection safeguards in operational responses in all sectors. S/he contributes to designing a comprehensive protection strategy and liaises externally with authorities and partners on protection doctrine and policy as guided by the supervisor

The Protection Associate also ensures that PoC are involved in making decisions that affect them, whether in accessing their rights or in identifying appropriate solutions to their problems. To achieve this, the incumbent will need to build and maintain effective interfaces with communities of concern, local authorities and protection and assistance partners.

All UNHCR staff members are accountable to perform their duties as reflected in their job description. They do so within their delegated authorities, in line with the regulatory framework of UNHCR which includes the UN Charter, UN Staff Regulations and Rules, UNHCR Policies and Administrative Instructions as well as relevant accountability frameworks. Duties:

NURSE ANAESTHETIST (6 POSITIONS)

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Perform pre-operative patients’ visits: explain procedures to patients and check whether they have any medical conditions that could create a problem under anesthesia.
  • Prepare operating room: check anesthesia machine, supplies, medicine and gases.
  • Observe condition of patients during surgical procedures, including skin color dilation of pupils and vital signs: initiate remedial measures to prevent surgical shock or other adverse conditions as required.
  • Document anesthesia notes on patients.
  • Helps wake up patients after the anesthetics.
  • Accompany patient to recovery area and remain until patient’s immediate condition is acceptable.
