Driven by a core strategic mandate for research, training and services, the Institute\u2019s work now spans a wide spectrum, covering biomedical and ecological sciences, intervention studies, health-systems research and policy translation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Position Summary<\/strong><br \/>\nIHI has partnered with the World Health Organization and SIKIKA to implement a study bearing the title: Community and Provider driven Social Accountability Intervention (CaPSAI) in Mbeya City, Chunya District, Iringa Municipality and Iringa District, Tanzania. The objective of the study is to show how a social accountability process in the context of Family Planning (FP) programs\/services influences contraceptive uptake and use.<\/p>\n<div class=\"jeg_ad jeg_ad_article jnews_content_inline_ads \">\n<div class=\"ads-wrapper align-center \"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>To accomplish this study, the Institute is looking for suitably qualified personnel to fill the posts of Field Interviewers in the CaPSAI study. The duration of the work is two months from October 1, 2018 to November 30, 2018. Successful candidates will be posted to various working stations as follows:<br \/>\n<strong>Chunya District<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Makongolosi, Matundasi and Upendo health facilities<br \/>\n<strong>Mbeya City Counci<\/strong>l \u2013 Itenda, Itensa, Ituha, Iyunga, Kiwanja Mpaka health facilities<br \/>\n<strong>Iringa Municipal Council<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Ipogolo, Mariestopes, Mkwawa, Ngome health facilities<br \/>\n<strong>Iringa Rural District<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Kalenga, Kimande, Migori and Kitwiru health facilities<br \/>\n<script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<!-- linkAD.2 --><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4564014896468666\" data-ad-slot=\"3390598296\" data-ad-format=\"link\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><br \/>\n\uf0b7 Conduct interviews with the selected type of interviewees according to the type of tool(s) allocated to you.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Ensure the availability of necessary equipment for data collection.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Responsible for safe keeping, maintenance and the return of project equipment rent to you for the purpose of the survey.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Collect information using tablets.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Ensure protection, rights, safety and well-being of the study participants.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Ensure the study is done according to the research ethical guidelines.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Ensure that participant\u2019s privacy and confidentiality are maintained.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Communicate with other study staff regularly at scheduled meetings and participate actively in all meetings.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Retain high level of public and community support and trust, e.g. in relation to research ethics and effective communication.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Respond to queries, concerns and issues raised by the Supervisors\/Coordinator \/Principal Investigator\/Investigators.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Undertake any other tasks that the Supervisors shall reasonably require from time to time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Qualifications and Experience<\/strong><br \/>\n\uf0b7 Form Four\/Six graduates, preferably with a certificate in community health, social sciences or related fields.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Prior field experience or work in public health projects will be an added advantage.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Competences<\/strong><br \/>\n\uf0b7 Ability to work successfully in a team.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Fluent in Swahili, literate in English.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Numeracy skills.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Interview skills \u2013 Moderation\/facilitation.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Basic computer application skills.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Communication skills\u2013 oral and written.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Organizational \u2013 time management.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Listening skills.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Report writing skills.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Remuneration<\/strong><br \/>\nAn attractive and competitive remuneration package will be offered to a successful candidate as per IHI salary scales.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Equal Opportunity<\/strong><br \/>\nIHI is an equal opportunity employer.
