{"id":7326,"date":"2018-07-13T01:19:09","date_gmt":"2018-07-12T22:19:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unistoretz.com\/magazine\/?p=7326"},"modified":"2018-07-14T10:15:51","modified_gmt":"2018-07-14T07:15:51","slug":"college-of-business-education-cbe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unistoretz.com\/magazine\/college-of-business-education-cbe\/","title":{"rendered":"College of Business Education (CBE)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The origin of the College of Business Education (CBE) is closely linked to the history of the Nation itself.\u00a0\u00a0It was soon after Independence on 9th December 1961, that the newly independent state found itself in need of trained personnel to Commercial and Industrial activities.\u00a0\u00a0At that time there were very few nationals with commercial education and expertise. The need to train nationals for the commercial sector therefore gave birth to a business training institute in the country.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">His Excellency,<strong>\u00a0J.K. Nyerere<\/strong>, the first President of the United Republic of Tanzania officially opened the new College in Dar es Salaam &#8211;\u00a0<strong>January 1965<\/strong>. The College was officially named the \u201cCollege of Business Education\u201d (CBE).<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block; text-align: center;\" data-ad-layout=\"in-article\" data-ad-format=\"fluid\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4564014896468666\" data-ad-slot=\"3464335665\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Over the years the College has grown in size and a second campus was opened in\u00a0<strong>Dodoma in October, 1983.<\/strong>\u00a0This campus was also officially opened by the then President\u00a0<strong>Mwalimu J.K. Nyerere<\/strong>. The College opened another campus in\u00a0<strong>Mwanza in December, 2007<\/strong>. Recently, in 2013 the College established another campus in Mbeya which currently offers Ordinary Diploma and Basic Certificate courses.<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<!-- linkAD.2 --><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4564014896468666\" data-ad-slot=\"3390598296\" data-ad-format=\"link\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The number of programmes has increased from one (1) in 1965 to ten (10) in 2018. These programmes are offered in Postgraduate and Undergraduate levels across all campuses.
