{"id":5961,"date":"2018-04-11T16:26:53","date_gmt":"2018-04-11T13:26:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unistoretz.com\/magazine\/?p=5961"},"modified":"2018-04-11T16:26:53","modified_gmt":"2018-04-11T13:26:53","slug":"job-opportunity-at-east-african-community-senior-export-promotion-officer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unistoretz.com\/magazine\/job-opportunity-at-east-african-community-senior-export-promotion-officer\/","title":{"rendered":"Job Opportunity at East African Community, Senior Export Promotion Officer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The East African Community is a regional intergovernmental organization comprising the Republic of Burundi, the Republic of Kenya, the Republic of Rwanda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Republic of South Sudan and the Republic of Uganda with its Headquarters in Arusha, Tanzania.<\/p>\n<p>SENIOR EXPORT PROMOTION OFFICER (REF: EAC\/HR\/2017-18\/02)<\/p>\n<p>Organ : EAC Secretariat<br \/>\nGrade : P2<br \/>\nDirectorate : Trade<br \/>\nJob reports to : Principal Trade Officer (International Trade)<\/p>\n<p>MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:<br \/>\n<script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<!-- linkAD.2 --><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4564014896468666\" data-ad-slot=\"3390598296\" data-ad-format=\"link\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><br \/>\nTo coordinate implementation of EAC&#8217;s Export Promotion Strategy and programmes.<\/p>\n<p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/p>\n<p>Facilitate the implementation of joint EAC Export and investment Promotion Strategy;<br \/>\nHarmonise export strategies incentives in the region;<br \/>\nCarry out research on best international export promotion practices;<br \/>\nCoordinate the harmonization of Export incentives in the region;<br \/>\nImplement Council decision and prepare progress report on export promotion;<br \/>\nIdentify export capacity constraints in the EAC region and the Partner States and facilitate development of strategies for addressing the same;<br \/>\nCoordinate regional and international export promotion initiatives for Partner States, including the organization of export exhibitions in the region&#8217;s major export markets in liaison with Partner States;<br \/>\nReview export promotion incentives provided by other regional economic blocks globally and make recommendations for creation of sustainable export promotion incentives in the region;<br \/>\nPerform any other duties as may be assigned by Management from time to time.<\/p>\n<p>QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:<\/p>\n<p>A Master\u2019s Degree in Business Administration or Economics or Finance or Marketing or Trade or any other relevant Master\u2019s Degree.<br \/>\nAt least eight (8) years of relevant experience, 3 of which should be at a senior level.<\/p>\n<p>SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:<br \/>\nStrong interpersonal relations and communication skills, analytical, project management and negotiation skills, proficiency in Computer applications<\/p>\n<p>ELIGIBILITY FOR APPLICATIONS:<br \/>\nApplicants from all EAC Partner States are eligible to apply for the above positions.<\/p>\n<p>TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE:<br \/>\nThe above positions are tenable for a contract of five (5) years renewable once .<\/p>\n<p>FRINGE BENEFITS:<br \/>\nThe established posts offer attractive fringe benefits including housing allowance, transport allowance, education allowance, a medical scheme, and insurance cover. The terms and conditions for the project position will be determined as per agreement between EAC and Development Partner.<\/p>\n<p>EDUCATIONS QUALIFICATIONS:<br \/>\nAll candidates applying must have qualifications that are recognized by the relevant national accreditation body in their respective Partner State.
