Conduct appraisals, select suppliers, confirm terms of payment, prepare<br \/>\npurchase orders, and ensure receiving authorization by the RMO \/ Chief of Mission.<br \/>\n5. Follow up on purchase orders (PO) status and keep the head of unit and respective project<br \/>\nmanagers abreast of estimated time of delivery or any changes that may affect or modify the<br \/>\npre-determined delivery conditions. Ensure all expected merchandized is received in<br \/>\naccordance with PO specifications and in good conditions.<br \/>\n6. Coordinate with the Global Procurement and Supply Unit and MAC for all mission purchases<br \/>\nabove USD 75,000.<br \/>\n7. Ensure that appropriate funds are available for purchase. Ensure receipts are received when<br \/>\npayment is conducted in cash and request authorization of the head of unit regarding bank<br \/>\ntransfers.<br \/>\n8. Create internal control mechanism to safeguard the organization assets and prevent fraud,<br \/>\nand ensure that appropriate record is kept on assets disposal, ensure assets are located<br \/>\naccordingly and used in IOM\u2019s best ineptest; regularly upgrade inventory list.<br \/>\n9. Assist in the adherence to stockroom management practice to ensure there is no undue<br \/>\noverstocking or loss. Control supply stocks and monitor consumable materials to provide staff<br \/>\nwith ready access to commonly used items and replenishment.<br \/>\n10. Monitor the maintenance and repair of office facilities, including preventive maintenance.<br \/>\nEstablish maintenance agreements with competent services providers, when it is feasible and<br \/>\ndetermined to be cost effective.<br \/>\n11. Undertake field travel to Programme sites to perform procurement and logistics evaluations<br \/>\nas necessary, upon request from the Head of Sub-Office \/RMO\/ Chief of Mission.<br \/>\n12. Maintain and update databases of preferred suppliers.<br \/>\n13. Represent IOM in inter-agency for a, including the procurement working group and the<br \/>\nlogistics cluster.<br \/>\n14. Undertake frequent duty travel to field locations in order to supervise and train field staff.<br \/>\n15. Perform any other duties as may be assigned.<\/p>\n<p>Required Qualifications and Experience:<\/p>\n<p>Education<br \/>\n\u2022 Master\u2019s degree in Social sciences, International Relations, Humanitarian Affairs,<br \/>\nDevelopment Studies or a related field from an accredited academic institution with five years of<br \/>\nrelevant professional experience; or<br \/>\n\u2022 University degree in the above fields with seven years of relevant professional experience.<br \/>\nExperience<br \/>\n\u2022 Experience in managing diverse procurement and logistics operations;<br \/>\n\u2022 Excellent level of computer literacy and good knowledge of SAP\/PRISM required;<br \/>\n\u2022 Demonstrated experience in training and managing large items of co-workers, managing<br \/>\nvendors and suppliers;<br \/>\n\u2022 Extensive knowledge of IOM or UN internal procurement and financial rules and corresponding<br \/>\nERP components (preferably SAP \u2013 based).<\/p>\n<p>Languages<\/p>\n<p>Fluency in English is required.
