{"id":5176,"date":"2018-02-14T17:58:35","date_gmt":"2018-02-14T14:58:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unistoretz.com\/magazine\/?p=5176"},"modified":"2018-02-14T17:58:35","modified_gmt":"2018-02-14T14:58:35","slug":"university-student-among-people-held-for-sh33-million-tusks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unistoretz.com\/magazine\/university-student-among-people-held-for-sh33-million-tusks\/","title":{"rendered":"University \u2018student\u2019 among people held for Sh33 million tusks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Police in the region here have arrested three people, including a Saint Augustine University of Tanzania (Saut) student, over claims of being found in possession of four tusks worth Sh33 million.<br \/>\n<script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<!-- linkAD.2 --><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4564014896468666\" data-ad-slot=\"3390598296\" data-ad-format=\"link\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"httpss:\/\/www.unistoretz.com\/magazine\/nafasi-ya-kazi-fashion-designer-tailor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CLICK TO APPLY: Nafasi ya kazi Fashion Designer\/Tailor<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mbeya Regional Police Commander Mohammed Mpinga told reporters on Wednesday, February 14, that the three suspects, who are Mbeya residents, were arrested at Mwanjelwa with the government trophies that they were carrying in their car.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter they were arrested, police inspected the car the suspects were driving in only to be found with four pieces of tusk weighing 5 kilograms and worth Sh33 million,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Commander Mpinga said preparations were going on to take the suspects to court so that they would face the charges.<\/p>\n<p>However, Saut authorities at Mbeya Campus have explained that the said student was not admitted to the university in the 2017\/2018 academic year.<br \/>\n<script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block; text-align: center;\" data-ad-layout=\"in-article\" data-ad-format=\"fluid\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4564014896468666\" data-ad-slot=\"3464335665\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"httpss:\/\/www.unistoretz.com\/magazine\/nafasi-12-za-kazi-management-and-development-for-health-mdh\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>READ: Nafasi 12 za Kazi Management and Development for Health (MDH),<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Saut vice chancellor responsible for academic affairs, Dr Makilika Venancy, said \u201ca person bearing that name was admitted to the campus in the previous academic years. He is missing from the list of continuing students for 2017\/2018 academic year.
