SENIOR REGULATORY SERVICES OFFICER II (LICENSING) &#8211; 1 POST<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Qualifications<br \/>\nGraduate in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or its equivalent from a recognised institution. At least three (3) years of work experience in a supervisory position in a Licensing institution in Tanzania.<\/p>\n<p>Duties and Responsibilities<br \/>\nMajor<br \/>\nAssisting the Director of Regulatory Services in fulfilling the licensing and registration functions of the Board.<\/p>\n<p>Specific<\/p>\n<p>Preparing annual work plans for the provision of licensing services.<br \/>\nPreparation of memorandum and other documents for the purpose of issuing regulations orders and rules that may be made.<br \/>\nPreparing terms of reference and contract terms for engagement of cane grower registration agents and monitoring the registration process.<br \/>\nRegistering producers, industrial users and importers of sugar.<br \/>\nMaintaining up-to-date registers of cane growers, sugar producers, industrial users of sugar and importers of sugar.<br \/>\nDetermining maximum quantity of sugar requirement.<br \/>\nKeeping proper records of licenses issued as per the Sugar Industry Regulations.<br \/>\nPreparing evaluation reports and recommendations on registration and licensing activities concerning the sugar industry.<br \/>\nPerforming any other duty as may be directed\/ assigned by the Principal Regulatory Services Officer.<\/p>\n<p><b><br \/>\n<\/b><b>2. REGULATORY SERVICES OFFICER II &#8211; 2 POSTS<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Qualifications<br \/>\nGraduate in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Chemical and Process Engineering, Sugar Technology, Business Administration, Economics or its equivalent from a recognised institution. Demonstrated knowledge of both local and global sugar industry is an added advantage.<\/p>\n<p>Duties and Responsibilities<br \/>\nMajor<br \/>\nParticipating in regulatory activities (licensing, registration, and compliance).<\/p>\n<p>Specific<\/p>\n<p>Supporting preparation of annual work plans for provision of regulatory services.<br \/>\nImplementing approved regulatory services work plans in line with the Sugar Industry Act and Regulations.<br \/>\nProcessing applications for sugar importation, sugar exportation and sugar manufacturing licenses.<br \/>\nMaintaining up-to-date registers of cane growers, sugar producers, industrial users of sugar and importers of sugar. Preparing evaluation reports and recommendations on registration and licensing activities concerning the sugar industry.<br \/>\nKeeping proper records of licenses issued and monitoring the use of licenses as per the Sugar Industry Regulations. DEVELOPMENT, PLANNING &amp; LIAISON OFFICER II &#8211; 1 POST<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Qualifications<br \/>\nGraduate in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Rural Economics or Sugar Technology from a recognised institution.<\/p>\n<p>Duties and Responsibilities<\/p>\n<p>Developing and maintaining links between SBT and stakeholders of the sugar industry.<br \/>\nAssists the Senior Development Planning and Liaison Officer in all sugar industry development and liaison issues.<\/p>\n<p>Specific<\/p>\n<p>Monitoring implementation of the National Development Plan (Sugar sub-sector), the Sugar Industry Development Plan and the SBT Strategic Plan and reporting to the Senior Development, Planning and Liaison Officer .<br \/>\nUndertaking pre-investment studies\/surveys and soliciting for strategic investors for identified projects.<br \/>\nCollaborating with the Sugar Industry Development Trust Fund, Monitoring implementation of agreements between the government and investors in relation to agreed investment plans or programmes.<br \/>\nSpearheading the development of Small scale and Household sugar processing projects nationwide.<br \/>\nPromoting development and expansion of sugarcane cultivation, production and marketing of sugar and use of sugar by-products.<br \/>\nCarrying out Research studies with a view to introduce quality low cost sugar production.<br \/>\nCarrying out research in pricing policy for sugar, sugarcane and related products as per Sugar Industry Act.<br \/>\nPerforming any other duties as may be directed\/assigned.<br \/>\n<b><br \/>\n<\/b><b>4.0 LEGAL SERVICES OFFICER II &#8211; 2 POSTS<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Qualifications<br \/>\nHolder of Bachelor Degree in Law (LL.B) from any recognized institution. Registered as an Advocate will be an added advantage.<\/p>\n<p>EXPERIENCE<br \/>\nAt least 3 years in similar position in a reputable organization.<\/p>\n<p>Duties and Responsibilities<\/p>\n<p>To compile evidence relevant for court cases involving the Board.<br \/>\nTo assist in taking charge of documents and correspondences of already assigned cases.<br \/>\nTo assist in dealing with legal routine correspondences addressed to the Board.<br \/>\nTo file and appear for proceedings in courts<br \/>\nTo assist in administering compliance to the terms of agreements and contracts.<br \/>\nTo compile a list of amended legislations, regulations and rules.<br \/>\nTo maintain an updated database of court decisions.<\/p>\n<p><b>5. DRIVER II &#8211; 2 POSTS<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Qualifications<br \/>\nHolder of Certificate of Secondary Education with passes in Kiswahili and English must have a valid class C driving license of not less than three years without causing accident and should possess Trade Test Grade III or above\/Drivers Grade II Certificate from a recognized Training Institutions.<\/p>\n<p>Duties and Responsibilities<\/p>\n<p>To drive vehicles towards approved destinations and in accordance with traffic regulations;<br \/>\nTo undertake minor mechanical repairs,<br \/>\nTo take vehicles due for routine maintenance\/repair to the appointed service agent;<br \/>\nTo maintain motor vehicle log books;<br \/>\nTo make pre-inspection to the assigned vehicle prior travelling and report mechanical damag-es\/defects;<br \/>\nTo ensure safety and cleanliness of the vehicle at all times;<br \/>\nTo ensure that valid documents and permits are acquired prior commencement of any journey;<br \/>\nTo report promptly accidents or incidents involving the vehicles to the relevant authority;&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>6. BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES<br \/>\n\u2022 Clear understanding of work ethics in public organisations,<br \/>\n\u2022 Customer focus, and<br \/>\n\u2022 Ability to work within a team, independently, and to interact with superiors, peers and subordinates.<\/p>\n<p>7.
