It was established under the Tanzania Communications Regulatory Act No.12<br \/>\nof 2003 to regulate the electronic communications and Postal services and, management of<br \/>\nthe national frequency spectrum in the United Republic of Tanzania. The Authority became<br \/>\noperational on 1st November 2003 and effectively took over the functions of the now defunct<br \/>\nTanzania Communications Commission (TCC) and Tanzania Broadcasting POSTS)<\/b><\/p>\n<p>1.1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<br \/>\n(i) Conduct content monitoring of licensed broadcasters (Radio and Television<br \/>\nstations);<br \/>\n(ii) Inform Content Analysts on any illegal operators detected or any harmful content<br \/>\nduring monitoring activities;<br \/>\n(iii) Maintain daily log book on status of the facilities used for content monitoring<br \/>\nactivities;<br \/>\n(iv) Provide daily report on the performance of licensed broadcasting stations and online<br \/>\nPage 2 of 6<br \/>\nmedia as shall be guided by Content analysts;<br \/>\n(v) Retrieve any Radio and Television programs requested by the Content Analysts for<br \/>\nofficial consumption;<br \/>\n(vi) Perform any other related duties as may be assigned from time to time.<\/p>\n<p>1.1.2 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Diploma either in Journalism or Mass Communications<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Minimum of THREE (3) years post qualification working experience in a reputable<br \/>\norganization;<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Skills in computer applications especially application of different computer software\u2019s<br \/>\nsuch as Microsoft Excel, Adobe Premier Pro, Adobe Audition and Final Cut;<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Previous service in Communications Sector and understanding of Broadcasting<br \/>\nLaws and Regulations will be an added advantage.<br \/>\n1.1.3 REMUNERATION:<br \/>\nAn attractive remuneration package will be offered to successful candidates.<\/p>\n<p><b>1.2 BROADCASTING AFFAIRS OFFICER \u2013 LOCAL CONTENT ANALYSIS (2 POSTS)<\/b><\/p>\n<p>1.2.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<br \/>\n(i) Collect and compile reports for making analysis on local content (Radio and<br \/>\nTelevision) broadcasted by licensed broadcasters;<br \/>\n(ii) Ensure broadcasters submits program lineup on time before commencement of any<br \/>\nquarter as prescribed in Content Regulations;<br \/>\n(iii) Ensure compliance by broadcasters to the approved program line-up;<br \/>\n(iv) Produce reports and related statistics for Radio and Television stations which<br \/>\nindicate compliance to Content Regulations with regard to percentage of local against<br \/>\nforeign content;<br \/>\n(v) Analyze and provide monthly report on the radio programs (Entertainment,<br \/>\nEducation and Current Affairs) aired by licensed broadcasters;<br \/>\n(vi) Analyze and provide a monthly report on appropriate usage of language (Kiswahili<br \/>\nand English) by licensed broadcasting stations;<br \/>\n(vii) Ensure adherence to water shed and children program as prescribed in the Content<br \/>\nRegulations;<br \/>\n(viii) Perform any other related duties as assigned from time to time by supervisor.<br \/>\nPage 3 of 6<\/p>\n<p>1.2.2 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Bachelor\u2019s degree either in Journalism or Mass Communications;<br \/>\n\uf0b7 A minimum of FIVE (5) years post qualification working experience in areas of<br \/>\nbroadcasting, journalism, content development, TV and radio programmes production<br \/>\nin a reputable organization;<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Proven experience on Media\/Communications Research especially on broadcasting<br \/>\ncontent analysis;<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Skills in computer applications especially different computer software\u2019s such as<br and<br \/>\nsponsored programs broadcasted by licensed broadcasters;<br \/>\n(ii) Ensure adherence by licensed broadcasters to Codes of Advertisement and<br \/>\nSponsorship;<br \/>\n(iii) Analyze and produce reports on commercial adverts and sponsored programs aired<br \/>\nby licensed broadcasters;<br \/>\n(iv) Produce monthly statistics on as required on number of commercial adverts and<br \/>\nsponsored programs aired by licensed broadcasters;<br \/>\n(v) Produce monthly statistics on average minutes used for commercial adverts and<br \/>\nsponsored programs aired;<br \/>\n(vi) Perform
