\nThe ideal person for this job is a candidate who is passionate about and skilled in Health programme design and delivery in a development context as well as capacity building to people. In this role, you will mainly be involved with leading the development of the health signature programme. In addition, you will provide technical support and advice to the Project leads for two existing maternal and neonatal health projects (Accelerated care and treatment Project -ACT) and Volunteers for International Cooperation and Empowerment Project \u2013 VOICE) related to project management as well effective project closure. You will also provide input into development and positioning towards new health proposals. Skills, qualifications and experience required
\nMaster\u2019s degree in public health or otherwise Bachelor\u2019s degree in the same areas with additional relevant courses or training.
\nExperience
\n\u2022 Minimum of 3 years\u2019 experience of developing and delivering MNCH and ASRH health programmes;
\n\u2022 Proven experience of developing health programme strategies
\n\u2022 Extensive experience and knowledge of MNCH and ASRH health programming
\n\u2022 Proven record in providing technical advice and mentoring and coaching
\n\u2022 Evidence of understanding the challenges of donor and contract management and the implications for programme management
\n\u2022 Able to develop multiple ideas to solve an issue or situation and take a swift decision, including in a high risk situation;
\n\u2022 Proven experience in financial management;
\n\u2022 Effective verbal and written communication skills and experience of compiling donor reports.<\/p>\n

Role overview
\nThe incumbent will support the Tanzania Local Enterprise Development (TLED) Project to reach its objective of facilitating delivery of Business Development Services (BDS) to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Lindi Region. S\/he will also take part in building capacity of the T-LED SMEs which includes selecting and making regular contacts with the SMEs, facilitating training and coaching on areas related to business development, marketing and financial management and organizing exhibition events for the SMEs amongst others. The project focuses on selected Value Chains related to Foreign Direct Investment (FDIs) in the areas of Oil and Gas, and gives priority to SMEs that show great potential to grow. Additional roles may include supporting day to day activities in the T-LED regional office activities as needed.<\/p>\n

Skills, qualifications and experience required
\nA bachelor degree in business, marketing, international relations, communications or related subject.<\/p>\n

2 years of work experience in a professional environment; preferably in a reputable company\/organization. Report writing, monitoring and evaluation. Experience in conducting one-on-one business mentoring, facilitation and training. Commitment to team and building its capacity. Must possess strong written and spoken English and Swahili language skills. Ability to be proactive and use creativity to drive solutions and results. Excellent coordination and planning skills with experience of working under pressure. Time management skills.<\/p>\n

Allowance and accommodation<\/p>\n

All volunteers have an allowance paid in local currency. The allowance meets reasonable living expenses in country, but will not be enough to send money home.<\/p>\n

VSO works with some of the poorest communities in the world which means accommodation varies and will be basic.<\/p>\n
