The programme conducts biomedical research, Supports health care, Advocacy and Training. The Sickle cell Programme is currently having a volunteer position for highly motivated and result driven individual interested in working in the health sector.<\/div>\n<div>LABORATORY SCIENTIST VOLUNTEER (1 POST)<\/div>\n<div>Reports to the Programme Coordinator of the programme.<\/div>\n<div>ROLES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES<\/div>\n<ol>\n<li>Prepare items and Perform phlebotomy when need arise.<\/li>\n<li>Perform pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical procedures on all specimens and control material received including but not limited to registration, separation and storage.<\/li>\n<li>Perform testing in Serology, Haematology, Chemistry, Clinical microscopy, PCR and micro nutrients<\/li>\n<li>Reporting abnormal results to the Lab Manager or Programme Coordinator.<\/li>\n<li>Checking and completing all the laboratory results in Laboratory Information System or register book before validation\/verification by a laboratory manager\/Programme coordinator.<\/li>\n<li>Archive all the source documents after testing in the appropriate files.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure accurate sample coordination and delivery.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare specimen for shipping on the samples received according to the SOPs.<\/li>\n<li>Documentation of daily operation, recalibration, preventive maintenance service and repair of the machines\/analyzers in the operational, reagent, calibration, maintenance and corrective action logs.<\/li>\n<li>Archive all the source documents after testing in the appropriate files.<\/li>\n<li>Adhere to stock control procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare summary reports of the machines\/analyzers at the end of every month.<\/li>\n<li>Troubleshoot any technical faults of the machine using operator\u2019s guide manual.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that the Lab Manager\/ Programme Coordinator are advised of any problems with the equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Any other duties as assigned by but not limited to the Lab Manager\/ Programme Coordinator.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div>QUALIFICATION SKILLS &amp; EXPERIENCE<br \/>\n\u2022 Bachelor in Medical Laboratory Sciences<br \/>\n\u2022 Strong computer Knowledge in Microsoft office<br \/>\n\u2022 At least 1 year of working experience in the laboratory field<br \/>\n\u2022 Good work ethics and a desire to make a difference<br \/>\n\u2022 Goal driven with strong attitude and commitment towards clinical research work particularly in Sickle Cell Disease.<br \/>\n\u2022 Prioritizing of tasks and good time management<br \/>\n\u2022 Excellent report writing skills<br \/>\n\u2022 Ability to multi-task and handle pressure well<br \/>\n\u2022 Flexibility and ability to work within a multi- cultural environment<\/div>\n<div><b>APPLY ONLINE THROUGH<\/b><\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block; text-align: center;\" data-ad-format=\"fluid\" data-ad-layout=\"in-article\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4564014896468666\" data-ad-slot=\"3836292876\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<div>scpjobs@blood.ac.tz<\/div>\n<div>This position will be on full time basis.
