A total of 4 Certificates, 3 Diplomas and 65 Undergraduate Degree Programmes are offered at various academic units of the University of Dar es Salaam these include Evening Study programmes designed to offer opportunities to mainly the working people although any interested person who have requisite entry qualifications can apply.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>1. General Regulationsis allowed between Universities only.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>1.1 Student credit transfer<\/p>\n<p>1.2 Credit transfer applies to both undergraduate and postgraduate degree<br \/>\nprogrammes.<br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-format=\"fluid\" data-ad-layout-key=\"-gy-e+2o-2k-38\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4564014896468666\" data-ad-slot=\"9768410247\"><\/ins>\u00a01.3 Credit transfer can only be allowed if such credits have been obtained within<br \/>\na period of not more than two years.<br \/>\n1.4 Students discontinued from other universities are not allowed to transfer<br \/>\ncredits to the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM).<br \/>\n1.5 Students will be required to undertake at least 2\/3\u00b8 of degree programme<br \/>\ncredit units at UDSM. Maximum credit allowable for transfer, therefore, is 1\/3<br \/>\nof the required credit units of a UDSM degree programme.<br \/>\n1.6 UDSM students on study-abroad programmes shall be allowed to transfer<br \/>\ncredits obtained from the other University to UDSM.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong>HOW TO TRANSFER???? Conditions governing credit transfer from other Universities to UDSM<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n2.1 The Higher Education institution from which a student wants to transfer credit<br \/>\nfrom must be a University with full accreditation by a recognized body in the<br \/>\ncountry assigned to deal with such matters and the accreditation status of the<br \/>\ninstitution shall be independently verified by UDSM and the Tanzania<br \/>\nCommission for Universities (TCU). If in doubt, UDSM reserves the right to<br \/>\ngive any applicant a performance verification test or reject the application.<br \/>\n2.2 The applying student must have an active degree programme registration at<br \/>\nhis\/her institution.<br \/>\n2.3 The applicant\u2019s academic entry qualifications in the previous University shall<br \/>\nbe similar to that required by UDSM including the respective programme\u2019s<br \/>\ncut-off point in the relevant year.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>3. Conditions governing credit transfer from UDSM to other Universities<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n3.1 Transfer of credits from UDSM to other universities will be governed by the<br \/>\nregulations of the receiving University.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>4. Criteria for Establishing Equivalency of Courses<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n4.1 The course must be from a programme of the same level as that of UDSM<br \/>\ni.e. Bachelors degree course for undergraduate and postgraduate degree<br \/>\ncourses for postgraduate. Courses at intermediate levels such as Advanced<br \/>\nDiploma or Higher Diploma levels are not acceptable.<br \/>\n4.2 The course must have a theoretical component i.e. involving final<br \/>\nexamination, excluding clinical-based courses.<br \/>\n4.3 Course content must be at least 75% similar to that of the UDSM course.<br \/>\n4.4 The number of teaching hours used to cover the course must not be less<br \/>\nthan 75% of those used at UDSM.<br \/>\n4.5 Once a course has been accepted as being equivalent to a UDSM course as<br \/>\nper the criteria, the course shall be given the same number of units as that of<br \/>\nthe course at UDSM regardless of the units in the other University.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>5. Rules for Grades Conversion<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n5.1 Conversion of grades shall be done by anchoring the pass mark of the other<br \/>\nuniversity to that of UDSM and accordingly determining the range of marks in<br \/>\nthe other University for the UDSM grades.<br \/>\n5.2 In the case where only grades (and not scored marks) are available, the<br \/>\nlower equivalent grade shall be assumed.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>6. Procedures and Administration of Student Credit Transfer<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n6.1 Applications for credit transfer should be submitted to the Deputy Vice<br \/>\nChancellor (Academic), in writing, and attaching copies of all required<br \/>\nsupporting documents.<br \/>\n6.2 All applications shall be scrutinized by relevant committees responsible for<br \/>\nadmission at the Department, Faculty\/Institute\/School\/College and the<br \/>\nDirectorate of Undergraduate Studies or Graduate School (for Postgraduate<br \/>\napplicants) levels before reaching Senate for approval.<br \/>\n6.3 Students transferring from other universities to UDSM shall apply for credit<br \/>\ntransfer at least three months before the beginning of the semester they want<br \/>\nto join.
