The award covers programme fees, flights, accommodation and living costs. Eligible master\u2019s level programmes in Ireland commence in August or September each year and, depending on the programme, will run for between 10 and 16 months. The Ireland Fellows Programme promotes gender equality, equal opportunity, and welcomes diversity.<\/p>\n<p><strong>APPLY FOR MORE SCHOL<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"httpss:\/\/www.unistoretz.com\/magazine\/fully-funded-university-of-the-witwatersrands-who-tdr-2022-postgraduate-training-scholarships-in-implementation-science\/\">Fully Funded University of the Witwatersrand\u2019s WHO\/TDR 2022 Postgraduate Training Scholarships in Implementation Science<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The aims of the Programme are to nurture future leaders; to develop in-country capacity to achieve national SDG goals; and to build positive relationships with Ireland.<\/p>\n<p>The Programme is intended to support graduates on their return home, through the skills they develop, to contribute to capacity building in their home countries and to become one of the next generation of leaders in their respective fields. It is also envisaged that they will contribute to building enduring positive personal and professional relationships with Ireland, promoting institutional linkages.<\/p>\n<p>The Ireland Fellows Programme is fully funded by the Irish Government and is offered under the auspices of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA). The Programme aligns with the Irish Government\u2019s commitments under<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>\u00a0<a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"httpsss:\/\/www.ireland.ie\/global-diaspora\/stories\/global-ireland---irelands-global-footprint-to-2025.php\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Global Ireland<\/a><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0and the national implementation plan for the<strong>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"httpsss:\/\/www.un.org\/sustainabledevelopment\/sustainable-development-goals\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)<\/a>,\u00a0<a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"httpsss:\/\/www.dfa.ie\/media\/dfa\/alldfawebsitemedia\/ourrolesandpolicies\/ourwork\/global-island\/the-global-island-irelands-foreign-policy.pdf\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><em>The Global Island: Ireland\u2019s Foreign Policy for a Changing World<\/em><\/a><em>,<\/em>\u00a0<a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"httpsss:\/\/www.irishaid.ie\/media\/irishaid\/aboutus\/abetterworldirelandspolicyforinternationaldevelopment\/A-Better-World-Irelands-Policy-for-International-Development.pdf\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><em>A Better World: Ireland\u2019s Policy for International Development<\/em><\/a>, and\u00a0<a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"httpsss:\/\/www.education.ie\/en\/Publications\/Policy-Reports\/International-Education-Strategy-For-Ireland-2016-2020.pdf\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ireland\u2019s International Education Strategy<\/a><\/span>.<\/strong> The programme is managed by the\u00a0relevant Embassy\u00a0responsible for eligible countries. Programme implementation in Ireland is supported by the Irish Council for International Students (ICOS).<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"httpsss:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<!-- 2021 --><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4564014896468666\" data-ad-slot=\"9068680313\" data-ad-format=\"auto\" data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p>Eligible Countries:<\/p>\n<p>Djibouti, Eswatini, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Malawi, Liberia, Lesotho, Kenya<\/p>\n<p>Eligible Courses:<\/p>\n<p>Eligible courses are in areas such as agriculture, health, education, human rights, computer science, engineering, business and more, and are listed in a<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>\u00a0<a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"httpsss:\/\/www.irishaidfellowships.ie\/sites\/default\/files\/are-you-eligible\/ireland_fellows_programme_directory_of_programmes_2022-23.pdf\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Directory of Eligible Programmes<\/a>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Eligibility<\/h3>\n<p>To be eligible for an\u00a0<em>Ireland Fellows Programme \u2013 Africa<\/em>\u00a0scholarship commencing at the beginning of the academic year 2022\u00a0applicants must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be a resident national of one of the following countries: Djibouti, Eritrea, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia,\u00a0Malawi, Mozambique, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Somalia,\u00a0South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.<\/li>\n<li>Have a minimum of two or three years\u2019 work experience that is directly relevant to your proposed programme(s) of study, depending on the country (see the Guidance Note for Applicants).<\/li>\n<li>Hold a bachelor\u2019s level academic qualification from an accredited and government-recognised higher education institution, with a minimum grade point average of 3.0 (4.0 scale) \u2013 i.e<a href=\"httpss:\/\/www.unistoretz.com\/magazine\">.<\/a> a first class honour, or second class honour, Grade 1 (in some cases a second class honour Grade 2 may be accepted, if the applicant has sufficient directly relevant work experience). It must have been awarded in 2010 or later (i.e. within the last 12 years).<\/li>\n<li>Not already hold a qualification at master\u2019s level or higher. Not currently undertaking a programme at master\u2019s level or higher, or be due to start a programme at master\u2019s level or higher in the academic year 2021\/22.<\/li>\n<li>Be applying to commence a new programme at master\u2019s level in Ireland no sooner than August 2021.<\/li>\n<li>Be able to demonstrate the following: leadership abilities and aspirations; a commitment to the achievement of the SDGs within your own country; and a commitment to contribute to building positive relationships with Ireland.<\/li>\n<li>Have identified and selected three programmes\u00a0<strong>relevant to your academic and professional background<\/strong>\u00a0from the Directory of Eligible Programmes.<\/li>\n<li>Have a clear understanding of the academic and English language proficiencies required for all programmes chosen.<\/li>\n<li>Must not have applied to the Ireland Fellows Programme on more than one previous occasion.<\/li>\n<li>Be in a position to take up the Fellowship in the academic year 2022\/2023.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>In addition, please note that applications in the following participating countries are\u00a0by invitation only:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Djibouti<\/li>\n<li>Eritrea<\/li>\n<li>Eswatini<\/li>\n<li>Ethiopia<\/li>\n<li>Kenya<\/li>\n<li>Liberia<\/li>\n<li>Malawi<\/li>\n<li>Rwanda<\/li>\n<li>Sierra Leone<\/li>\n<li>Somalia<\/li>\n<li>South Sudan<\/li>\n<li>Sudan<\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Tanzania<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Uganda<\/li>\n<li>Zambia<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This means that fellowships in these countries are restricted to the staff of government departments and NGOs which work in partnership with Irish Aid, and to personnel of organisations that are aligned with Irish Aid\u2019s development strategy in their country which have already been identified by the Embassy of Ireland.\u00a0<strong>Applications from outside these partnerships will not be eligible.\u00a0<\/strong>To find out if you are eligible to apply, please\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"httpsss:\/\/www.irishaidfellowships.ie\/contact\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">contact the relevant Embassy of Ireland<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>or your employer.<\/p>\n<p>Benefits<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It offers selected students the opportunity to undertake a fully funded one-year master\u2019s level programme at a higher education institution (HEI) in Ireland.
