The WTO Young Professionals Programme (YPP) is a unique opportunity for qualified young professionals up to the age of 32 years, as at 1 January 2022, from eligible developing and least-developed country (LDC) WTO Members, to enhance their knowledge and skills on WTO and international trade issues. The Programme aims to widen the pool of professionals from these countries who can later be more competitive with respect to recruitment in the WTO and\/or other regional and international organizations.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>YOU MAY ALSO APPLY FOR<\/strong><\/h4>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"httpss:\/\/www.unistoretz.com\/magazine\/fully-funded-daad-german-government-development-related-postgraduate-scholarships-2022-2023-for-study-in-germany\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fully Funded : DAAD German Government Development-Related Postgraduate Scholarships 2022\/2023 for study in Germany<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>ALL APPLICATIONS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A COVER LETTER OF MOTIVATION, WHICH SHOULD INDICATE UP TO THREE AREAS OF WORK (SEE DETAILS UNDER GENERAL FUNCTIONS), IN ORDER OF PREFERENCE, THAT THE APPLICANT WOULD BE INTERESTED IN. Applications with no accompanying letter of motivation will not be considered. Please refer to instructions under Additional Information on how to add a cover letter on the WTO e-recruitment system.<\/p>\n<p>This is a limited programme that offers selected young professionals with the opportunity to gain work experience in the WTO. There is no guarantee of an extension of the programme or of a job offer after the one-year programme.<\/p>\n<p><strong>General Functions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The selected Young Professional will be placed in a specific Division of the WTO Secretariat in accordance with the needs and priorities of the Organization; and based on the identified areas of interest of the Young Professional. Each Young Professional may express interest in not more than three areas of WTO work; and in order of preference.<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"httpsss:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<!-- 2019-CreativeAD --><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4564014896468666\" data-ad-slot=\"8884173138\" data-ad-format=\"auto\" data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><br \/>\nThe areas of work may include, inter alia, the following (in alphabetical order):<\/p>\n<p>Accessions<br \/>\nAgriculture<br \/>\nCouncil and Trade Negotiations<br \/>\nDispute Settlement<br \/>\nEconomic Research and Statistics<br \/>\nGovernment Procurement<br \/>\nIntellectual Property Rights<br \/>\nMarket Access (tariffs and non-tariff barriers)<br \/>\nMedia and External Relations<br \/>\nSanitary and Phytosanitary measures<br \/>\nTechnical Barriers to Trade<br \/>\nTrade and Development<br \/>\nTrade and Environment<br \/>\nTrade Facilitation<br \/>\nTrade and Gender<br \/>\nTrade in Services and Investment<br \/>\nTrade Policy Analysis<br \/>\nTrade-Related Technical Assistance.<br \/>\nTrade Remedies (anti-dumping and countervailing duties)<\/p>\n<p><strong>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Education:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Advanced university degree in law, economics, or other international trade-related subjects relevant to the work of the WTO.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Knowledge and skills<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>General knowledge of the work of the WTO.<br \/>\nGood drafting skills in English. Ability to draft in French and\/or Spanish would be an advantage.<br \/>\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team, in a multicultural environment.<br \/>\nDemonstrated strong interest in international trade and the multilateral trading system.<br \/>\nCommitment and passion for trade or WTO-related work<\/p>\n<p><strong>Work Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Minimum two (2) years of professional experience relevant to the work of the WTO.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Languages:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Fluency in English.
