Head, Finance &#038; Reporting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jobs at NMB Bank Plc &#8211; Head, Finance &amp; Reporting<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"httpsss:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<!-- 2019 Links AD --><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4564014896468666\" data-ad-slot=\"9648899391\" data-ad-format=\"link\" data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><br \/>\n<b>Job Purpose<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>To ensure financial control, cost management, recording, and reporting of the bank\u2019s financial position and safe custody of all funds and assets of the bank.<\/p>\n<p><b>Main Responsibilities<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Finance<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage the departmental budget to ensure that expenditure is in line with the plan.<\/li>\n<li>Manage and optimize the overall bank\u2019s operating expenses.<\/li>\n<li>Manage and ensure timely and accurate reporting to the regulator.<\/li>\n<li>Manage negotiations with key suppliers and ensure that payments to suppliers are made in line with the contractual terms.<\/li>\n<li>Manage fixed assets of the bank.<\/li>\n<li>Develop the financial and operating expenses policies of the bank and update the same regularly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Risk<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage the requirements of internal and external auditors in order to ensure a full and rigorous audit of NMB accounts and take action to implement recommendations.<\/li>\n<li>Attend to BOT examiners in order to conduct effective examination of the bank.<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with tax consultants in order to ensure thorough corporate tax assessment.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure remediation of control issues raised by the external auditors, internal auditors and regulators.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that risk and control self-assessments are performed within the department in line with the relevant policies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><script async src=\"httpsss:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<!-- 2019-CreativeAD --><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4564014896468666\" data-ad-slot=\"8884173138\" data-ad-format=\"auto\" data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p><b>Processes<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage a system of accounts for banking transactions in order to enable accurate and timely reporting on the financial performance of bank operations.<\/li>\n<li>Manage a system of accounts for goods and services in order to enable accurate and timely reporting of NMB expenditure on goods and services.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Customer<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage a system of financial accounting that ensures accurate and timely reporting of the NMB financial position to management, the Board and Bank of Tanzania.<\/li>\n<li>Engage with various stakeholders including cost owners to ensure that costs are well managed and provide timely, accurate, and complete reports.<\/li>\n<li>Engage with external stakeholders where necessary.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>People<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure that staff understand the context of their roles in relation to the department and NMB\u2019s strategy.<\/li>\n<li>Manage the performance of all staff in the Finance department including contracting, reviewing, and appraising performance.<\/li>\n<li>Assess and monitor training and development needs of the staff.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that staff have the resources they require to perform their work.<\/li>\n<li>Engage with staff to assess and report on the level of staff engagement.<\/li>\n<li>Identify and retain talent within the department.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Knowledge and Skills<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Business understanding of financial control, regulatory requirements, Financial Reporting Standards, and the application of Bank\u2019s loan products, policies and procedures.<\/p>\n<p><b>Technical<\/b>: Financial management and reporting, understanding of Procurement systems and Standard computer applications (Excel, Word and Access),<\/p>\n<p><b>Behaviourial<\/b>: Building a successful team and developing others, Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, Customer Focus, Formal Presentation, Strong business acumen and leadership.<\/p>\n<p><b>Qualifications and Experience\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree or equivalent in Accounting, Auditing, Business Administration, Economics, Finance;
