The U.S. Mission Dar es Salaam will be accepting applications now and are \u00a0due by 11:59 pm on June 1, 2021 for the Ambassador\u2019s Special Self-Help Program.\u00a0 This program aims to support a wide variety of small-scale community-based initiatives that promote self-reliance, foster development through innovation, and promise an immediate and dramatic effect on local communities. The SSH philosophy is to help communities ready to help themselves.<\/p>\n<p>Each project is expected to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Improve basic economic or social conditions at the community or village level;<\/li>\n<li>Support high-impact, quick-implementation activities that benefit a large number of people within one year without requiring further SSH assistance;<\/li>\n<li>Involve a significant local contribution in cash, labor, or material, and be within the ability of the local community to operate and maintain;<\/li>\n<li>Be in direct response to the initiative and aspirations of the local community (the local sponsors of the project, who will also be its prime beneficiaries); and<\/li>\n<li>Not initiate, continue, or supplement technical assistance programs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><script async src=\"httpsss:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<!-- 2019-CreativeAD --><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4564014896468666\" data-ad-slot=\"8884173138\" data-ad-format=\"auto\" data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><br \/>\nFor more information check out our\u00a0<strong>Annual Program Statement<\/strong>\u00a0on how to apply.<\/p>\n<p>We are now accepting applications for the Ambassador\u2019s Special Self-Help grant!<br \/>\nProjects may be focused on Water, Health &amp; Hygiene, Environment, Education, and Income Generation.
