Shared Scholarships<\/strong><\/a><\/span>\u00a0are for candidates from least developed and lower-middle-income Commonwealth countries, for full-time Master\u2019s study on selected courses, jointly supported by UK universities.<\/p>\n<p>Funded by the\u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"httpsss:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/organisations\/department-for-international-development\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>(FCDO) Commonwealth Shared Scholarships enable talented and motivated individuals to gain the knowledge and skills required for sustainable development, and are aimed at those who could not otherwise afford to study in the UK.<\/p>\n<p>These scholarships are offered under six CSC development themes:<\/p>\n<p>1.\u00a0 Science and technology for development<br \/>\n2.\u00a0 Strengthening health systems and capacity<br \/>\n3.\u00a0 Promoting global prosperity<br \/>\n4.\u00a0 Strengthening global peace, security and governance<br \/>\n5.\u00a0 Strengthening resilience and response to crises<br \/>\n6.\u00a0 Access, inclusion and opportunity<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>YOU MAY ALSO APPLY FOR:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: href=\"httpss:\/\/www.unistoretz.com\/magazine\/us-embassy-tanzania-foreign-language-teaching-assistant-program-flta\/\">US Embassy Tanzania : Foreign Language Teaching Assistant Program (FLTA)<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Eligibility Requirements<\/p>\n<p>To apply for these scholarships, you must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be a citizen of or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country, or be a British Protected Person<\/li>\n<li>Be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country<\/li>\n<li>Be available to start your academic studies in the UK<a href=\"httpss:\/\/www.unistoretz.com\/magazine\">,<\/a> or remotely if required, by the start of the UK academic year in September\/October 2021<\/li>\n<li>By September 2021, hold a first degree of at least upper second class (2:1) standard, or a second class degree and a relevant postgraduate qualification (usually a Master\u2019s degree).<\/li>\n<li>Not have studied or worked for one (academic) year or more in a high income country<\/li>\n<li>Be unable to afford to study at a UK university without this scholarship<\/li>\n<li>Have provided all supporting documentation in the required []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p>Value<br \/>\nShared Scholarships are jointly funded by the CSC and participating UK universities.<br \/>\nEach scholarship provides:<br \/>\n\u2022 Approved airfare from your home country to the UK and return at the end of your award (the CSC will not reimburse the cost of fares for dependents, nor the cost of journeys made before your award is confirmed) \u2013 arranged by the university; funded by the CSC<br \/>\n\u2022 Approved tuition fees \u2013 funded by the CSC<br \/>\n\u2022 Stipend (living allowance) at the rate of \u00a31,116 per month, or \u00a31,369 per month for those studying at universities in the London metropolitan area (rates quoted at 2020-2021 levels) \u2013 paid and funded by the university<br \/>\n\u2022 Warm clothing allowance, where applicable \u2013 paid and funded by the university<br \/>\n\u2022 Thesis grant towards the cost of preparing a thesis or dissertation, where applicable<br \/>\n\u2013 claimed from and paid by the university; funded by the CSC<br \/>\n\u2022 Study travel grant towards the costs of study-related travel within the UK or overseas<br \/>\n\u2013 claimed from and paid by the university; funded by the CSC<br \/>\n\u2022 Excess baggage allowance, up to an annual approved limit, when returning home<br \/>\n\u2013 claimed from and paid by the university; funded by the CSC<br \/>\n\u2022 Reimbursement of the cost of a mandatory tuberculosis (TB) test, where required for a visa application (receipts must be supplied) \u2013 claimed from and paid by the university; funded by the CSC<br \/>\n\u2022 If you are widowed, divorced, or a single parent, child allowance of \u00a3478 per month for the first child, and \u00a3118 per month for the second and third child under the age of 16, if you are accompanied by your children and they are living with you at the same address in the UK (rates quoted at 2020-2021 levels)<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Selection process<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Each participating UK University will conduct its own recruitment process to select a specified number of candidates to be awarded Commonwealth Shared Scholarships. Universities must put forward their selected candidates to the CSC in May 2021. The CSC will then confirm that these candidates meet the eligibility criteria for this scheme. Universities will inform candidates of their results in July 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Applications will be considered according to the following selection criteria:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Academic merit of the candidate<\/li>\n<li>Potential impact of the study on the development of the candidate\u2019s home country.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>How to apply<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><script async src=\"httpsss:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<!-- 2019 Links AD --><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4564014896468666\" data-ad-slot=\"9648899391\" data-ad-format=\"link\" data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><br \/>\nYou can apply for more than one taught Master\u2019s course and\/or to more than one university though the Commonwealth Shared Scholarships Scheme, but you may only accept one offer of a Shared Scholarship.
