This is done through the provision of high-quality executive education, facilitation of policy dialogues, action-oriented research, and technical assistance for public and private institutions.<\/p>\n<p>Through its Internship Programme, the Institute seeks to engage a talented graduate with a genuine curiosity to work with the Finance and Administration Department. The Finance and Administration Department plays a vital role in ensuring that the Institute\u2019s planned activities are run and implemented smoothly within the allocated budget. The Department also ensures timely preparation of financial transactions as well as preparation of budget implementation report whilst providing other necessary support.<\/p>\n<p><b>Why join UONGOZI Institute?<\/b><br \/>\nOur intern\u2019s development is important to the Institute. You will have an opportunity to learn from the best.<br \/>\nThe successful candidate will report directly to the Finance Officer. They will assist the Finance and Administration Team with the day-to-day operations of the Department.<br \/>\nThe Intern will be mainly responsible for assisting to maintain efficient and accurate accounting functions of the Department. From the very beginning, they will:<br \/>\nPrepare payment vouchers and cheques.<br \/>\nUpdate the cashbook.<br \/>\nPrepare bank and petty cash reconciliation.<br \/>\nFile finance documents such as; receipts, vouchers etc. and ensure accurate record keeping.<br \/>\nRevise and verify staff imprest retirements.<br \/>\nPrepare financial reports.<br \/>\nProvide support in other relevant duties as directed by the supervisor.<\/p>\n<p><b>Duration and work schedule<\/b><br \/>\nThe selected Intern will be provided with a three-month contract with the possibility of extension, if necessary. Some assignments will require travel.<\/p>\n<p><b>Who are we looking for?<\/b><br \/>\nBachelor\u2019s degree in Finance and Accounting.<br \/>\nAbility to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.<br \/>\nProficiency in MS Excel.<br \/>\nAbility to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.<br \/>\nStrong verbal and written communication skills, both in English and Swahili.<br \/>\nVolunteer experience is preferred, although not required.<\/p>\n<p><b>How to apply<\/b><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"tr_bq\"><p>Join our Finance and Administration Department by submitting an application via\u00a0<b>recruitment@uongozi.or.tz<\/b>\u00a0with the subject line \u201cFinance Intern\u201d by August 30, 2020 at 1400 hours (EAT).
