{"id":17611,"date":"2020-08-01T16:00:55","date_gmt":"2020-08-01T13:00:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unistoretz.com\/magazine\/?p=17611"},"modified":"2020-08-01T13:08:26","modified_gmt":"2020-08-01T10:08:26","slug":"jobs-at-nmb-bank-senior-specialist-systems-security-applications","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unistoretz.com\/magazine\/jobs-at-nmb-bank-senior-specialist-systems-security-applications\/","title":{"rendered":"Jobs at NMB Bank, Senior Specialist; Systems Security (Applications)"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"post-body-4632906515899254420\" class=\"post-body entry-content\"><b>\u00a0Senior Specialist; Systems Security<\/b>\u00a0(Applications)<\/p>\n<p><b>Job Purpose<\/b><\/p>\n<p>To plan, organize, and deliver cost-effective and efficient IT security controls to protect and defend the bank\u2019s systems against any internal and external threats (e.g. unauthorized access, cyber-attacks, etc.).<\/p>\n<p><b>Main Responsibilities<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Drive the secure application development strategy and roadmap of the bank by ensuring applications are securely designed and developed.<\/li>\n<li>Implement application security governance by defining, developing, implementing, and maintaining required policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.<\/li>\n<li>Provide ownership of security of all systems and applications developed and acquired by the bank.<\/li>\n<li>Establish security requirements and designs for all developed and acquired systems.<\/li>\n<li>Provide security assurance of all applications implemented by validating the implementation of security designs, conducting applications code reviews and security assessments to eliminate security vulnerabilities.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct periodic security assessments and review of implemented systems to ensure their continued compliance with security standards.<\/li>\n<li>Establish, maintain, and implement optimal security configurations of all servers OS, workstations OS, virtual environments, databases, middleware, and applications.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct research and make recommendations on systems security solutions, services, protocols, standards, and best practices in support of systems security continuous improvements.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain an inventory of security systems, hardware, and software used by the bank.<\/li>\n<li>Support continuous security monitoring efforts of all systems within the bank to detect and resolve security incidents and violations.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and maintain systems security documentation including security architecture and designs of systems and applications.<\/li>\n<li>Implement security improvements by continuously assessing the implemented controls, evaluating security risks and anticipating requirements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Attributes<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Knowledge of modern software development trends as well as in-depth understanding of software security practices.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of systems security standards and baselines in Operating Systems, Databases, middleware, and applications; Hands-on experience in implementing applications in a wide range of Operating Systems is mandatory.<\/li>\n<li>Hands-on experience in Application Security testing tools with SAST and DAST capabilities.<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with security standards such as OWASP Testing Guide, OWASP ASVS, NIST, and Sans top 20.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to communicate complex security concepts in an easy to understand business language.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated leadership and personnel management skills.<\/li>\n<li>Good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills in English and Swahili.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrable honesty, integrity, and credibility; ability to engender the trust and confidence of internal constituency and external partners.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Qualifications and Experience<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>At least a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Computer Science or related academic field.<\/li>\n<li>Preferred professional certifications such as CEH, CISM, CISA, CISSP, or any other relevant security certifications.<\/li>\n<li>At least 5 years of relevant work experience.<\/li>\n<li>Solid Hands-on experience in Computer Programming in either Java, PHP, and Python is mandatory.<\/li>\n<li>Solid experience in implementing applications in various operating systems is mandatory.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>NMB Plc is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.<\/p>\n<p>Please be advised that if you are not contacted within 14 working days of the advert closing date then you have not been shortlisted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNMB Bank Plc does not charge any fee in connection with the application or recruitment process.
