{"id":17230,"date":"2020-07-09T11:00:40","date_gmt":"2020-07-09T08:00:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unistoretz.com\/magazine\/?p=17230"},"modified":"2020-07-09T08:28:02","modified_gmt":"2020-07-09T05:28:02","slug":"job-vacancies-at-project-zawadi-tenda-teacher-training-coordinator","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unistoretz.com\/magazine\/job-vacancies-at-project-zawadi-tenda-teacher-training-coordinator\/","title":{"rendered":"Job Vacancies at Project Zawadi, Tenda Teacher Training Coordinator"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"post-body-8929172976579752227\" class=\"post-body entry-content\">Job Title:<b>\u00a0Tenda Teacher Training Coordinator<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Job Description: Project Zawadi\u2019s mission is to partner with communities, schools, and teachers to support quality education for Tanzanian children and youth.\u00a0 Project Zawadi (PZ) is a small non-profit organization that provides support via three programs: Student Sponsorship, School Support (Model Schools), and Teacher Training (Tenda Teachers).The Tenda Teachers Training Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the Tenda Teacher Director and the Tenda Teachers Professional Development Program.<\/p>\n<p>The Tenda Teachers Professional Development program promotes active teaching and learning techniques where students discuss what they are learning, ask questions, apply their knowledge, and actively participate in class. We offer intensive teacher training workshops locally for teachers to learn and practice these skills. The program provides teacher training using video lessons. The electronic platform will allow teachers to access training almost anywhere and the plan is to make these trainings available across the country.<br \/>\n<b><br \/>\n<\/b><b>Major Duties and Responsibilities<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist in the development of teacher training resources.<\/li>\n<li>Organizing, coordinate, and facilitate teacher training workshops<\/li>\n<li>Work in a range of schools and with colleagues to assist with the implementation of the Teacher Professional Development Program<\/li>\n<li>Conduct Learning Walks at participating schools<\/li>\n<li>Conduct teacher observations and record what is observed<\/li>\n<li>Inspect teachers\u2019 and school records to monitor the program\u2019s implementation<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with Head Teachers and provide them with support and encouragement<\/li>\n<li>Perform all duties in a timely and accurate manner<\/li>\n<li>Perform additional responsibilities as assigned<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Qualifications for the Job:A<\/b>\u00a0Bachelor\u2019s degree in Education or related field or experience teaching primary school in Tanzania.\u00a0 Preference given to candidates with experience in: educational pedagogy, teacher training and professional development, workshop facilitation, curriculum development, public speaking, programmatic evaluation and the curriculum and structure of the Tanzanian education system is a must.\u00a0 Work is done primarily in and near Nyamuswa Village, Bunda District, Mara Region but may require substantial travel in Tanzania.<\/p>\n<p><b>Key Competencies:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Strong oral and written communication skills in both English and Swahili<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Ability to engage in clear and empathic communication<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Professional behavior with integrity and flexibility as job changes and grows<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Detail oriented, organized, and able to manage priorities for multiple projects<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Ability to work independently<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Coaching and mentoring skills<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Solid computer and social media skills with fluency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint<\/p>\n<p>To Apply: Send ONE email and up to two attachments (cover letter and CV) with the subject line \u201cTenda Coordinator\u201d to\u00a0<b>adrian@projectzawadi.org<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0<b>bsinger@projectzawadi.org<\/b>.
