It harnesses the experience, resources and reach of its more than 1,300 Member organizations and the input of more than 10,000 experts. IUCN is the global authority on the status of the natural world and the measures needed to safeguard it.<\/p>\n<p>IUCN is implementing a Project entitled \u201cIntegrating a Rights-Based Approach (RBA) to enhance social and economic inclusion in agricultural growth corridor development\u201d. The Project, funded by the Open Society Foundation (OSF), aims to mainstream RBAs in in sustainable natural resources management.<\/p>\n<p>IUCN Tanzania is seeking a motivated Project Assistant to support the implementation of the Rights based Approach Project.<\/p>\n<p><b>SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES;<\/b><br \/>\nAssist in the preparation and execution of the Project work plan and budget<br \/>\nAssist in the development of informative radio shows session on rights, accountability and inclusion based on NRGF study findings<br \/>\nParticipate in the dissemination of SAGCOT\u2019s IGG tools at landscape level<br \/>\nAssist in organizing and providing logistical support to project events including training workshops, meetings and field visits<br \/>\nParticipate in the documentation of lessons learned and best practices on IGG,<br \/>\nsustainable finance, rights and government<br \/>\nParticipate in the production and dissemination of communication materials (policy briefs, factsheets, brochures) on IGG, rights and governance for awareness raising, lessons sharing, policy influencing and improving IUCN visibility<br \/>\nProduce activity reports<br \/>\nRepresent IUCN at events as may be required<br \/>\nPerform other duties as may be assigned from time to time.<\/p>\n<p><b>REQUIREMENTS<\/b><br \/>\n<b><br \/>\n<\/b><b>\u2022 Work Experience;<\/b><br \/>\n<b><br \/>\n<\/b>At least three years of professional experience in conservation, forest and natural resources management and governance.<br \/>\nSolid knowledge of conservation, land tenure, natural resources governance and sustainable development issues<br \/>\nPractical experience in the implementation of field projects as well as in organizing and facilitating training and dialogue workshops.<br \/>\nExperience in developing radio programs and producing communication materials.<br \/>\nExperience in creating and facilitating dialogues, partnerships and synergies;<\/p>\n<p><b>\u2022 Education;<\/b><br \/>\n<b><br \/>\n<\/b>A University degree in a relevant discipline, including agriculture, forestry, water resources management, natural resources management, biodiversity conservation, environmental management, communication, natural governance or related fields.<br \/>\nKnowledge of Issues related to water resources management will be an added advantage.<\/p>\n<p><b>\u2022 Language Proficiency;<\/b><br \/>\n<b><br \/>\n<\/b>Fluency in English and Kiswahili (both written and verbal).<\/p>\n<p><b>\u2022 Functional competencies;<\/b><br \/>\n<b><br \/>\n<\/b>Adheres to IUCN ESARO core values of Transparency, Inclusiveness, Professionalism and Accountability<br \/>\nExcellent report writing skill<br \/>\nComputer literacy in relation to office applications (word processing, spreadsheets, power point) use of internet and online communication tools<br \/>\nHighly motivated and results driven<br \/>\nExcellent interpersonal skills<br \/>\nMust be a strong team player<br \/>\nCommitted to continuous learning towards self-development;<br \/>\nWilling to travel and work in rural areas frequently within Tanzania<\/p>\n<p><b>\u2022 Core Competencies;<\/b><br \/>\n<b><br \/>\n<\/b>Transparency: Able to build trust and contribute to informed and responsible decision making by carrying out the work of IUCN in a transparent manner; provides clear guidance to ensure that objectives and desired measurable results are understood by members of the team.<br \/>\nInclusiveness: Understands and accepts cultural diversity, and provide a tolerant, positive and supportive working environment that fosters respect for diversity, demonstrates ability to work in a multicultural, multi ethnic environment and to maintain effective working relations with people of different nationalities and cultural backgrounds.<br \/>\nProfessionalism: Promote the organization\u2019s interests, objectives and values in a diligent and professional manner.<br \/>\nAccountability: Takes responsibility of individual and collective actions, promotes the IUCN One Programme approach.<br \/>\n<b><br \/>\n<\/b><b>APPLICATIONS<\/b><br \/>\nApplicants are requested to apply online through the HR Management System, by opening the vacancy announcement and pressing the &#8220;Apply&#8221; button.<\/p>\n<p>Applicants will be asked to create an account and submit their profile information.
