{"id":15937,"date":"2020-05-03T12:00:44","date_gmt":"2020-05-03T09:00:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unistoretz.com\/magazine\/?p=15937"},"modified":"2020-05-03T11:31:24","modified_gmt":"2020-05-03T08:31:24","slug":"job-vacancy-at-danish-refugee-council-hygiene-safety-protection-assistant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unistoretz.com\/magazine\/job-vacancy-at-danish-refugee-council-hygiene-safety-protection-assistant\/","title":{"rendered":"Job Vacancy at Danish Refugee Council, Hygiene &amp; Safety Protection Assistant"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"post-header\">\n<div class=\"post-header-line-1\">Job title: <b>Hygiene Promotor\u00a0 Project Assistant<\/b>-GFD<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"post-body-8324950003495639617\" class=\"post-body entry-content\">\nEmployment category: E, L1<br \/>\nReporting to: Team Leader- GFD<br \/>\nTechnical line manager: GFD Project Manager<\/p>\n<p>Direct reports: N\/A<br \/>\nUnit\/department: GFD<br \/>\nLocation: Nduta\/ Mtendeli<br \/>\nAuthorization level: N\/A<\/p>\n<p>Overall purpose of the role: (1-2 sentences)<\/p>\n<p>The Hygiene Promoter\u00a0 Project Assistant -GFD is responsible for maintaining a direct line management of Cleaner incentive workers in Nduta \/ Mtendeli Camps, providing overall management and coordination at assigned Food Distribution Point (FDP) in addition to completing timely weekly reports.<\/p>\n<p><b>Responsibilities:\u00a0<\/b>(in bullet points)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Organize implementation of Hand washing campaigns in project target populations.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that water and soap is being provided for the hand washing.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that that the FDPs are clean including the rubbish being burnt at all times.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Responsible to train communities on good hygiene and sanitation practices (hold hygiene promotion sessions).<\/li>\n<li>Supervise and work hand in hand with the cleaner incentive workers.<\/li>\n<li>Plan activities according to the expected progress of the project based on program work plan (monthly plan and weekly).<\/li>\n<li>Participate in food coordination and camp meetings and reporting achievements\/constrains.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Undertake hygiene promotion campaign and other behavior change communication within the POCs.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Able to understand solid and liquid waste managements within the FDPs of Nduta and Mtendeli camps.<\/li>\n<li>Participate and support the communities and the beneficiaries undertaking hygiene campaign in the project area<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that cross cutting issues such as protection, gender, environment, PSEA are addressed and mainstreamed in the project.<\/li>\n<li>Keep daily record of materials used in the field.<\/li>\n<li>Experience and technical competencies: (include years of experience)<\/li>\n<li>Able to maintain cordial relations with other stakeholders like WFP, UNHCR, Plan international HelpAge international, MHA, zone leaders, food management committees, beneficiaries and other relevant stakeholders\/partners.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure efficient coordination with stakeholders relevant to the implementation of GFD project, including other humanitarian and development actors in the area.<\/li>\n<li>Experienced in the general food distribution and for a minimum of 2 years.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in hygiene promotion minimum(2years)<\/li>\n<li>Work experience with local communities, children and vulnerable people<\/li>\n<li>Experience in community mobilization and participation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Additional job responsibilities<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Identify and inform the team leader \/officer of any problems or constraints<\/li>\n<li>Participate in weekly report writing<\/li>\n<li>Provide support to the all program staff in the implementation of program activities.<\/li>\n<li>Submit reports on weekly, monthly and quarterly basis to the Team leader \/Information management Assistant<\/li>\n<li>Organize for implementation of Hygiene &amp; Sanitation campaigns<\/li>\n<li>Support program staff in collecting data and reports per project needs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Education: (include certificates, licenses etc.)<br \/>\nBachelor\u2019s degree in social sciences, Hygiene, community development or related to the field<\/p>\n<p><b>Languages:<\/b>\u00a0(indicate fluency level)<br \/>\nEnglish<br \/>\nKiswahili<br \/>\nKirundi<br \/>\nFrench<\/p>\n<p><b>Key stakeholders:<\/b>\u00a0(internal and external)<br \/>\nPOCs<br \/>\nMHA<br \/>\nUNHCR<br \/>\nWFP<br \/>\nHelp Age International<br \/>\nPlan International<br \/>\nPolice<\/p>\n<p>The Job description may not exceed two pages<\/p>\n<p>DRC as an employer<br \/>\nBy working in DRC, you will be joining a global workforce of around 8000 employees in 40 countries.
