{"id":15544,"date":"2020-04-04T14:02:48","date_gmt":"2020-04-04T11:02:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unistoretz.com\/magazine\/?p=15544"},"modified":"2020-04-04T07:05:33","modified_gmt":"2020-04-04T04:05:33","slug":"job-opportunity-financial-accountant-at-tanga-cement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unistoretz.com\/magazine\/job-opportunity-financial-accountant-at-tanga-cement\/","title":{"rendered":"Job Opportunity &#8211; Financial Accountant at Tanga Cement"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"post-body-4098584749288150694\" class=\"post-body entry-content\"><b>Financial Accountant\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Job Summary:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Assisting Financial Controller to develop financial analysis reports, ensure financial recording accuracy and compliance with established financial standards including policies and procedures.<\/p>\n<p><b>Principle Accountabilities:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Organize work of the financial accounting and accounts payable section to process all transactions of the company<\/li>\n<li>Capture statutory accounts \u2013 Prepare annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS, ensure that all audit issues are cleared, compare actual\u00a0 \u00a0figures against budget and analyze all variances and report to management<\/li>\n<li>Perform monthly reconciliation of transport and freight accounts<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Facilitate accurate and timely processing of supplier payment<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that all payments are processed based on the proper supporting documents as per payment procedure<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Ensure that tax policies which suit current needs are in place<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with the\u00a0 Financial Controller &amp; CFO on tax issues<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Ensure that all taxes are paid on or before their due dates, supported by accurate returns as required by the tax authorities<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Prepare and support both the internal and external audit processes<\/li>\n<li>Resolve\/implement\/correct audit recommendations timely<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Ultimately responsible for safe working practices especially in areas of responsibility.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Environment:\u00a0 Ensure environmental procedures are complied with, identify and manage the environmental aspects and impacts in his\/her area and instil environmental awareness culture in his\/her area.<\/li>\n<li>Any other duties as may be assigned by line management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Key requirements:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Education<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree in Commerce (Accounting &amp;\/Finance) or equivalent<\/li>\n<li>Certified Public Accountant\u00a0 (CPA Holder<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Experience<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>At least three (3) years\u2019 experience in accounting capacity, preferably in a multinational manufacturing company or auditing firms<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Knowledge &amp; Skills<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conversant with the preparation of financial statements (company and consolidation)<\/li>\n<li>Knowledgeable on working with the IFRS as well as Tanzanian Tax Law<\/li>\n<li>Excellent knowledge of local and international accounting practices<\/li>\n<li>Excellent knowledge of Group and local reporting requirements and accounting practices<\/li>\n<li>Excellent knowledge on internal controls environment as well as competence on the MS Excel, MS Word and MS Power Point and understanding of the computer based financial accounting systems especially SAP.<\/li>\n<li>Working knowledge of cost accounting\u00a0 principles<\/li>\n<li>Totally honest\u00a0 and trustworthy<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Meticulous attention\u00a0 to detail<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Take responsibility for adherence to company procedures<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Must enjoy routine and take pride in producing accurate reports to meet deadlines on a regular basis<\/li>\n<li>Positive and enthusiastic to improve financial accounting performance<\/li>\n<li>Able to respond to heavy demands and high work pressure<\/li>\n<li>Reasonably independent and able to resolve own difficulties.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Tanga Cement Plc is proud to be an Equal Opportunity employer.
