It works to improve brand recognition trough both conventional and non-conventional avenues of communication to appeal to as wide an audience as possible.<br \/>\n<b><br \/>\n<\/b><b>KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES<\/b>\u00a0(not all-inclusive)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Translate from English to Kiswahili and vice versa<\/li>\n<li>Assist with media events including photography, videography and logistics<\/li>\n<li>Produce content for print and social media, including Twitter and Facebook<\/li>\n<li>Scan local newspapers daily for coverage of relevance to WFP<\/li>\n<li>Track local and international news on issues of relevance<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with other UN communication officers for joint activities<\/li>\n<li>Respond to information requests from various sources<\/li>\n<li>Compile donor and other reports<\/li>\n<li>Assist with administrative tasks<\/li>\n<li>Assist with the dissemination of publications<\/li>\n<li>Travel up country as needed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Education:\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Masters degree in journalism, Political Science or Mass Communication.\u00a0 Bachelors degree in the same areas will be considered if the candidate has relevant work experience.<\/p>\n<p><b>ELIGIBILITY:\u00a0<\/b><br \/>\nBe currently enrolled in an undergraduate programme (for example, Bachelor\u2019s degree) from a recognised university and have completed at least two years of the programme. Candidates should have attended classes in the past 12 months;b. Be currently enrolled in a graduate programme (for example, Master degree) from a recognised university and have attended classes in the past 12 months; c. Be a recent graduate from an undergraduate or graduate programme (within six months prior to the application to the internship programme) from a recognised university and have attended classes in the last 12 months of enrolment in the university.<\/p>\n<p><b>DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Experience:<\/p>\n<p>Work experience in journalism or public affairs will be an advantage.<br \/>\nProven experience in translation from English to Kiswahili and vice versa<br \/>\nExperience in writing, editing and proofreading will be an advantage<\/p>\n<p><b>OTHER SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Excellent knowledge and understanding of social media trends.<br \/>\nProven writing and editing skills (report, creative writing, media) in English and Kiswahili.<br \/>\nPhotography and videography skills. Demonstrated working knowledge of Windows computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher).<br \/>\nKnowledge of social and political situation in Tanzania and East African region. Ability to perform multiple tasks.
