Interacts with other teams within the function or work area, plans and controls resources required for delivery.<\/p>\n<p><b>KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES<\/b><br \/>\nCreate and execute merchant acquisition strategy (both online merchants and offline)<br \/>\nCreate and execute marketing strategy to increase customer adoption<br \/>\nCreate and execute e-commerce strategy<br \/>\nIdentify opportunities and develop new products, using data and insight to establish the consumer\u2019s problem or unmet need<br \/>\nOversee the attracting, recruiting, deployment\u00a0 and retention of\u00a0 \u201cA\u201d players for the department<\/p>\n<p><b>QUALIFICATIONS &amp; EXPERIENCE<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>5-10 years\u2019 relevant experience in a senior management role within an innovation department, having being exposed to all disciplines.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Relevant post graduate degree, commercial focus preferred<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0At least 3 years of experience in the GSM industry or financial services sector.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Project<\/li>\n<li>Swahili &amp; English (fluent)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>CORE COMPETENCIES<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Project Management \u2013 experience with management of project teams achieving deadlines<\/li>\n<li>Customer focused \u2013 passionate about delivery of results to internal and external customers<\/li>\n<li>Commercially astute \u2013 solid understanding of market, competitor, &amp; business<\/li>\n<li>Strategically Oriented \u2013 solid understanding of the integrated set of products and services included within the merchant business portfolio; able to identify opportunities for Vodacom and define and implement these opportunities<\/li>\n<li>Strong Analytical skills \u2013 able to assess reports, identify issues, root cause, and recommend solutions, expert spread sheet skills a distinct advantage<\/li>\n<li>Financial Management \u2013 develop and manage budgets, drive down costs wherever possible.<\/li>\n<li>Inspirational Leadership \u2013 develop and maintain great working environment throughout Merchant section<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Presentation and communication skills \u2013 superior, both written and oral.\u00a0 Experience in report writing an advantage, expert word processor and PowerPoint skills a distinct advantage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Skills<\/b><br \/>\nModern Marketing Leadership<br \/>\nBusiness Acumen<br \/>\nComplexity Management<br \/>\nSegment Strategy and Planning<br \/>\nAlways on Marketing<br \/>\nCommitment from Vodacom<\/p>\n<p>Vodacom is committed to attracting, developing and retaining the very best people by offering a flexible, motivating and inclusive workplace in which talent is truly recognized, developed and rewarded.
