See the complete <a href=\"httpss:\/\/dfat.gov.au\/people-to-people\/australia-awards\/Pages\/participating-countries.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">list of participating countries<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Scholarship value\/inclusions\/duration:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The scholarship benefits generally include: full tuition fees, return air travel, establishment allowance, contribution to living expenses (CLE), Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), Introductory Academic Program (IAP), Pre-course English (PCE) fees, etc. See the complete list of benefits at the official website.<\/p>\n<p>The scholarships\u00a0are offered for the minimum period necessary for the individual to complete the academic program specified by the Australian higher education institution, including any preparatory training.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligibility:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To be eligible to receive a Scholarship, applicants must:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>be a minimum of 18 years of age on 1 February of the year of\u00a0commencing the scholarship;<\/li>\n<li>be a citizen of a participating country (as listed on the Australia Awards website)\u00a0and be residing in and applying for the scholarship from their country of\u00a0citizenship;<\/li>\n<li>not be a citizen of Australia, hold permanent residency in Australia or be\u00a0applying for a visa to live in Australia permanently;<\/li>\n<li>not be married to, engaged to, or a de facto of a person who holds, or is eligible\u00a0to hold, Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency, at any\u00a0time during the application, selection or mobilisation phases (note: residents of\u00a0Cook Islands, Niue and Tokelau with New Zealand citizenship are eligible but\u00a0must apply for a Student visa [subclass 500]);<\/li>\n<li>not be current serving military personnel;<\/li>\n<li>not have previously received a long-term Australia Award unless they have\u00a0resided outside of Australia for twice the length of the total time that they were\u00a0in Australia (for example, a previous awardee who has been on an Australia\u00a0Awards Scholarship in Australia for four years will not be eligible to apply for\u00a0another Australia Awards Scholarship until they have resided outside Australia\u00a0for eight years);<\/li>\n<li>have satisfied any specific criteria established by the Program Area or the\u00a0government of the applicant\u2019s country of citizenship (e.g. having\u00a0 worked a\u00a0certain number of years in an appropriate sector);<\/li>\n<li>be able to satisfy the admission requirements of the institution at which the\u00a0award is to be undertaken (this may mean that Program Areas will need to\u00a0withdraw an award offer if the recipient cannot satisfy the institution\u2019s\u00a0admission requirements. This may not be known until Program Areas request a\u00a0placement at selected institutions);<\/li>\n<li>be able to satisfy all requirements of the Department of Home Affairs to hold a\u00a0Student Visa. This may mean that the Program Area will need to withdraw an\u00a0award offer if the recipient cannot satisfy the visa requirements;<\/li>\n<li>Not be applying for a scholarship for a course of study at an academic level lesser\u00a0than they have already achieved (eg be applying for a Master\u2019s scholarship when\u00a0they already hold a PhD); and<\/li>\n<li>Applicants must inform the Program Area of any connection or relationship to\u00a0staff employed at Program Areas (including locally engaged staff at post) or with\u00a0managing contractors so that the application may be properly and transparently\u00a0managed.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Read the complete eligibility criteria in the\u00a0<a href=\"httpss:\/\/dfat.gov.au\/about-us\/publications\/Documents\/aus-awards-scholarships-policy-handbook.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Australia Awards Policy Handbook<\/a> (PDF)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application instructions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Check the <a href=\"httpss:\/\/www.dfat.gov.au\/people-to-people\/australia-awards\/Pages\/australia-awards-scholarships-opening-and-closing-dates.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">open and close dates for your country<\/a>, and select your country of citizenship\/residency from the list of participating countries for specific information on eligibility, priority areas and how to apply. Deadline varies per country.
