TANZANIA NATIONAL ROADS AGENCY (TANROADS) is a Semi \u2013 Autonomous Agency under the Ministry of Work, Communication and Transport established on July 1st 2000 and is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Tanzania Mainland\u2019s Trunk and Regional roads Network. Its primary functions include the Management of Maintenance and Development Works, Operation of the Network and Axle Load Control. The Implementation of Road Safety and Environment Measures, Provision of advice on the strategic framework, policies and plans for the road sector.<\/p>\n
The TANZANIA NATIONAL ROADS AGENCY (TANROADS) on behalf of the Government of United Republic of Tanzania entered into a Contract for the Upgrading of Kaliua \u2013 Malagarasi \u2013 llunde Road (156 KM) to Bitumen Standard LOT 2: Kazilambwa \u2013 Chagu Section (36KM). The contract period is 24 months and Defect Liability period of 12 months.<\/p>\n
The Regional Manager\u2019s Office TANROADS \u2013 Tabora, on behalf of the Chief Executive, TANROADS, intends to recruit qualified and competent Staff to fill the following vacant posts specific duties short-term contract within the Region.<\/p>\n
Successful applicants must be ready to work for considerable length of time in Kaliua and Tabora Districts within the project area if situation warrants.<\/p>\n

POSITION TITLE: STRUCTURE\/DRAINAGE ENGINEER<\/b> (1 POST)<\/p>\n
Educational\/Professional Qualifications;<\/b><\/p>\n
Must be a Bachelor Degree in Civil, Bridge or Structural Engineering or equivalent from any recognized Higher Learning Institution\/Colleges;
\nMust be registered with ERB as Professional Engineer;
\nA postgraduate qualification in Civil Engineering or Highway Engineering and experience in contract administration under FIDIC\/PPRA Condition of contract is an added advantage;
\nComputer literate;<\/p>\n
Work Experience<\/b><\/p>\n
At least 10 years cumulative experience related to road\/bridge design and construction;
\nServed as a structure\/drainage Engineer for at least two (2) years road project of similar magnitude and complexity in the last ten (10) years;
\nHe\/She must have working experience of at least three (3) years in Sub \u2013 Sahara countries;
\nShall be responsible for ensuring the drainage structures are constructed according to design and conform to the contract specifications;
\nSelf-motivated, able to work under pressure outside working hours with minimum supervision;
\nProficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory;
\nMust be Tanzanian Citizen;
\nAge Limit; 30 years and above;<\/p>\n
