The Leiden University Excellence Scholarship Programme (LExS) is open to outstanding\u00a0 Non-EU\/EEA students enrolling in\u00a0a full-time master\u2019s degree programme at Leiden University.<\/p>\n

All Masters programmes\u00a0(with the exception of\u00a0regular LLM (non-advanced) programmes) in the following Faculties: Archaeology, Humanities, Medicine\/LUMC, Governance and Global Affairs, Law, Social and Behavioural Sciences, Science, Interfacultair Centrum voor Lerarenopleiding, Onderwijsontwikkeling en Nascholing (ICLON), African Studies Centre, International Institute for Asian Studies<\/p>\n

The number and type of award of the scholarship depends on the budget available for each Faculty department.<\/p>\n

The Leiden University Excellence Scholarship programme has 3\u00a0awards:<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0 \u20ac 10.000 of the tuition fee
\n\u2022\u00a0 \u20ac 15.000 of the tuition fee
\n\u2022 Total tuition fee minus the statutory tuition fee<\/p>\n

Eligibility:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Students must have achieved excellent study results in their previous education, this being relevant to the Master\u2019s programme for which they are applying.\u00a0As an indication, the student is amongst the top 10% of graduates in his\/her previous study programme.\u00a0Note: proof of ranking is not required \u2013 this information is purely to indicate the level of competitiveness.<\/em><\/p>\n

Applicants must have a non EEA* passport and may not be eligible for support under the Dutch system of study grants and loans (Studiefinanciering).<\/p>\n

Application instructions:<\/strong><\/p>\n

You must first apply online for admissions to a Master\u2019s programme at Leiden University.<\/strong> In your application, you must indicate clearly that you would like to apply for the LExS scholarship and upload\u00a0your letter of motivation for the LExS scholarship on the scholarship page. The deadline for programmes starting in September is\u00a01 February <\/strong>(exception \u2013 LLM Advanced Studies programmes: 1 March) while programmes starting in February has a deadline of\u00a01 October.<\/strong><\/p>\n
