{"id":13517,"date":"2019-12-24T15:40:25","date_gmt":"2019-12-24T12:40:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unistoretz.com\/magazine\/?p=13517"},"modified":"2019-12-24T15:40:25","modified_gmt":"2019-12-24T12:40:25","slug":"eiffel-scholarships-in-france-for-international-students","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unistoretz.com\/magazine\/eiffel-scholarships-in-france-for-international-students\/","title":{"rendered":"Eiffel Scholarships in France for International Students"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"post_column_1\">\n<p><em>French Government<\/em><br \/>\nMasters\/PhD Degree<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"post_column_1\">\n<p><strong>Deadline: <\/strong>9 Jan 2020 (annual)<br \/>\nStudy in:\u00a0 France<br \/>\nCourse starts AY 2020-2021<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>Brief description: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Eiffel Excellence Scholarship Program was established by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs to enable French higher education institutions to attract top foreign students to enroll in their masters and PhD programs.<\/p>\n<p>It gives opportunity to the future foreign decision-makers of the private and public sectors, in priority areas of study, and encourages applicants up to 30 years old from developing countries at master\u2019s level, and applicants up to 35 years old from developing and industrialized countries at PhD level.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Host Institution(s):<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>French Universities and Academic Institutions<\/p>\n<p><strong>Level\/Field(s) of study:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Master\u2019s degree programme, in an Engineering programme, or in a PhD programme (in a cotutelle or joint doctoral thesis supervision, in partnership\u00a0with a foreign higher education institution) in four major fields:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0 law;<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0 economics and management;<br \/>\n\u2022 engineering sciences at Masters\u2019 level, sciences in the broad sense for the\u00a0Doctorate\/PhD level (engineering science; exact sciences: mathematics, physics,\u00a0chemistry and life sciences, nano and biotechnologies, Earth, space and\u00a0environmental sciences, information sciences and technologies and communication);<br \/>\n\u2022 political sciences<\/p>\n<p><strong>Target group:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>International students<\/p>\n<p><strong>Scholarship value\/inclusions\/duration:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For\u00a0Master\u2019s level studies, the Eiffel scholarship includes a monthly allowance of \u20ac1,181 (a maintenance allowance of \u20ac1,031 and a monthly stipend of \u20ac150) and can be awarded for 12-36 months. \u00a0For PhD level studies, the Eiffel scholarship includes a monthly allowance of \u20ac1,400 and is awarded for a maximum of 12 months.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the programme meets various expenses including international return trip, national and local transport, health insurance, and cultural activities. Scholarship holders may also receive an additional housing allowance, under certain conditions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tuition fees are not covered<\/strong> by the Eiffel Programme.\u00a0The French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs expects the educational\u00a0institutions, whose international influence is enhanced by this program, make sure\u00a0students receive the best financial support.\u00a0Students admitted to public educational institutions are, as French government\u00a0scholarship holders, exempted from enrolment fees.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligibility:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Nationality<\/strong>:\u00a0This programme is reserved for candidates of non-French nationality. Candidates with two nationalities, one of which is French, are not eligible.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Age<\/strong>:\u00a0For master\u2019s level, candidates must be not older than 30 on the date of the 2020 Call of Applications, that is, students born after March 1989. At PhD level, candidates must be\u00a0\u00a0not older than 35 on the date of the 2020 Call of Applications, that is, students born after March\u00a01984.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Origin of applications<\/strong>: Only applications submitted by French educational establishments are accepted. These establishments undertake to enrol scholarship holders on the course for which they have been selected. Applications submitted by any other means shall not be considered. Furthermore, any candidate nominated by more than one establishment shall be disqualified.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Courses of study:<\/strong>\u00a0Scholarships are for students wishing to enrol on a master\u2019s\u00a0course, including at an engineering school, and for PhD students. The Eiffel Programme does not apply to French-run master\u2019s courses abroad. It does not apply to training under an apprenticeship contract or a professional training contract either.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Combination with other scholarships:<\/strong> Foreign students who, at the time of\u00a0application, have already been awarded a French government scholarship under\u00a0another programme are not eligible, even if the scholarship in question does not include social security cover.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For Eiffel Master Scholarship:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0No application will be accepted for any student who applied previously but was rejected, even if the application is submitted by a different establishment or in another field of study. Students who have already been awarded an Eiffel scholarship at master\u2019s level are not eligible to re-apply at master\u2019s level.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For Eiffel PhD\u00a0Scholarship:\u00a0<\/strong>Establishments may nominate a candidate who was previously awarded an Eiffel scholarship at master\u2019s level for a scholarship at PhD level. Candidates who have already been awarded an Eiffel scholarship once during their PhD cannot be awarded it for a second time. No application will be accepted for any student who applied previously but was rejected, even if the application is\u00a0submitted by a different establishment or in another field of study.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Language skills:<\/strong>\u00a0When pre-selecting non-French-speaking candidates,\u00a0establishments must make sure that their language skills meet the requirements of the relevant course of study.<\/p>\n<p>Students undertaking a course of study abroad take priority over those already living in France.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application instructions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Applications are NOT accepted from students directly.
