{"id":13507,"date":"2019-12-24T15:20:43","date_gmt":"2019-12-24T12:20:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unistoretz.com\/magazine\/?p=13507"},"modified":"2019-12-24T15:20:43","modified_gmt":"2019-12-24T12:20:43","slug":"job-opportunity-at-nmb-bank-specialist-card-settlement-reconciliation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.unistoretz.com\/magazine\/job-opportunity-at-nmb-bank-specialist-card-settlement-reconciliation\/","title":{"rendered":"Job Opportunity at NMB Bank, Specialist; Card Settlement &amp; Reconciliation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Specialist; Card Settlement &amp; Reconciliation<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Job Purpose<\/b><\/p>\n<p>To perform clearing and settlement of incoming and outgoing files of various card associations;<br \/>\nAttend queries raised by finance recon team, effect merchant payments &amp; recognize income;<br \/>\nPerform customer refunds and managing pool accounts for credit and prepaid cards.<br \/>\nEnsure compliance with international card associations operational procedures in settlement process to avoid any financial and\/or revenue loss.<\/p>\n<p><b>Main Responsibilities<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure daily clearing files are well processed and sent to MasterCard VISA and UPI as required<\/li>\n<li>Workout on outgoing and incoming files for Visa, MasterCard and UPI to investigate rejected files\/discrepancies<\/li>\n<li>Ensure Settlement files are downloaded correctly from MFI and Edit package (EP) systems<\/li>\n<li>Ensure daily settlement process for Visa and MasterCard and UPI are performed correctly.<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with Treasury and Finance departments to ensure there are enough funds before settlement due date.<\/li>\n<li>Advise Card Operation and Card Accounts to work on rejected settlement entries<\/li>\n<li>Ensure timely processing of Visa, MasterCard transaction and UPI fees and charges<\/li>\n<li>Prepare Settlement voucher for Issuing and acquiring Business for onwards posting at finance department<\/li>\n<li>Manage NOSTRO settlement account and mirror account, and ensure similar entries are reflected on both accounts<\/li>\n<li>Manage BOT settlement accounts for domestic\/intra country settlement<\/li>\n<li>Manage reconciliation of all settlement and card business accounts<\/li>\n<li>Ensures business rules on mirror and suspense accounts are adhered<\/li>\n<li>Ensure Merchant payments are done timely and correctly processed<\/li>\n<li>Process chargeback payments to card holders and recover funds from Merchants for failed chargebacks.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure thorough checks are done before refunding any cardholder<\/li>\n<li>Prepare Voucher for cardholder refund and merchant debit\/credit payment.<\/li>\n<li>Manage and reconcile prepaid pool account; Ensure pool account for credit card has been timely replenished<\/li>\n<li>Ensure all customers who have requested for credit are funded timely<\/li>\n<li>On the 20th-30th of each, ensure the DD files are downloaded from CMS system and have been passed in flex cube to collect funds from customers\u2019 account and fund pool account.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure VAT and Withholding Tax calculations are done timely and the posting voucher are prepared correctly<\/li>\n<li>Ensure all adjusted and unsettled transactions are posted timely and in correct General Ledger (GL)<\/li>\n<li>Ensure all unmatched transactions from Finance are processed timely<\/li>\n<li>Ensure highest level of customer service is provided to network and internal customers<\/li>\n<li>Provide coaching and training to branch staff and call center staff for all issues related to Card operations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Skills and Knowledge<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bank Card Business knowledge obtained from Visa or MasterCard<\/li>\n<li>Must have good communication skill both oral and written<\/li>\n<li>Must have good computer application knowledge \u2013 Advanced level of Excel<\/li>\n<li>Teamwork\/Personal Effectiveness \u2013 clear and concise communication, time management, adaptability<\/li>\n<li>Interpersonal skills \u2013 develop relationships with colleagues within the bank, cardholders and merchants<\/li>\n<li>Coaching, presentation, and training skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Qualifications and Experience<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Business Administration\/ Accounts\/Finance\/Banking or any other related field.<\/li>\n<li>At least 3 years\u2019 working experience in Banking mainly in Card Business Operations<\/li>\n<li>NMB Bank Plc is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please be advised that if you are not contacted within 14 working days of the advert closing date then you have not been shortlisted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNMB Bank Plc does not charge any fee in connection with the application or recruitment process.
