Since 2015, as part of the Burundian Refugee Response in Tanzania, DRC works in the sectors of camp management, Community-Based Protection, livelihoods, protections, WASH, General Food Distributions and shelter\/ small infrastructure in Nduta &amp; Mtendeli camps. And starting from January, 2020, DRC will be implementing Camp management, Community Based Protection and Livelihoods projects in Nyarugusu refugee camp.<\/p>\n<p>Name of the Position: \u2013<b> Livelihoods Assistant<\/b><br \/>\n<b><br \/>\n<\/b> Reports to: \u2013 Livelihoods Officer<br \/>\nSupervise: \u2013 Incentive staffs and\/or Village Agents.<br \/>\nDuty Station: \u2013 Mtendeli, Nduta, Nyarugusu Refugee Camps &amp; Host Community.<\/p>\n<p>A Livelihoods Assistant, under the management and supervision of the Livelihoods Officer and in close collaboration with UNHCR and the camp-based government coordination bodies will be responsible for supporting the implementation of livelihoods activities in the refugee camp and host community. The Livelihoods Assistant is therefore expected to be flexible to work in different locations over the course of the programme.<\/p>\n<p><b>Tasks and responsibilities of the position<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Participate in ensuring targets are met under DRC\u2019s agreement with donors, in order to be accountable to the stated goals of the programme.<\/li>\n<li>Support in provision of trainings and technical support to programme participants with specific focus to Agricultural, Vocational skills development, business development, Basic computer literacy interventions among others.<\/li>\n<li>Support in ensuring comprehensive documentation and provide inputs for reporting on implementation progress.<\/li>\n<li>Provide inputs for program Development (Proposals writing and budgeting).<\/li>\n<li>Support in Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting Arrangements.<\/li>\n<li>Work with established community-based structures in the community and be solution oriented in terms of challenges arising from individual activities and the programme as a whole.<\/li>\n<li>Provide inputs for new sustainable livelihoods initiative\/proposals and fundraising relating emergency and longer-term response.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute in documentation of lessons learned and ensuring that are reflected in program planning and decision making.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Ensure implementation of livelihoods activities are in compliant with the Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS) and the DRC\u2019s Code of Conduct (CoC);<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Provide timely and quality inputs for project narrative reports in accordance to donors\u2019 requirement.<\/li>\n<li>Foster and maintain excellent working relationships with key humanitarian actors \u2013 local and international, including government authorities and non-state Actors, private sectors.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Liaise closely with other DRC\u2019s sectors such as; Community Based Protection, protection and camp management to ensure productive coordination and smooth implementation of the programme activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Requirements<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>University Degree in Agriculture, Project Planning and Management, Community Development, Social Science and other related fields.<\/li>\n<li>1-2 years relevant work experience.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge and experience in implementing programmes in agriculture, Vocational\/technical skill development, financial inclusion and business development programmes.<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience working with refugees or IDPs and Host communities\u2019 members.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Computer literacy (Microsoft Word and Excel).<\/li>\n<li>Ability to communicate in English and Swahili.\u00a0 Ability to communicate in Kiha and\/or Kirundi is a plus.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well ability to engage with community members in an open manner, maintain confidentiality and respect.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Terms of Employment:<\/b><br \/>\nSalary and conditions in accordance with DRC\u2019s Terms of Employment for National Staff in Tanzania and based on UNHCR Tanzania\u2019s salary scale for IP National Staff.<\/p>\n<p><b>Application Instructions:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Interested candidates should submit their application including cover letter and updated CV in English only, online through www.drc.ngo.\u00a0 No hardcopy application will be accepted<\/p>\n<p>Deadline for applications is 20th of December, 2019<\/p>\n<p>We encourage all qualified candidates to apply irrespective of origin, gender or age.<\/p>\n<p>For further information about Danish Refugee Council, please go to www.drc.ngo<\/p>\n<p><b>DRC as an employer<\/b><\/p>\n<p>By working in DRC, you will be joining a global workforce of around 8000 employees in 40 countries.
