Driven by a core strategic mandate for research, training and services, the Institute\u2019s work now spans a wide spectrum, covering biomedical and ecological sciences, intervention studies, health-systems research and policy translation.<\/p>\n<p><b>Position Summary<\/b><\/p>\n<p>IHI is looking for Field Workers to fill vacant positions in the Broad One Health Endectocide-Based Malaria Intervention in Africa (Bohemia) project. The project will evaluate the potential of Ivermectin on reducing malaria transmission. The Field Workers will collect data\/demographic information on census from households in Rufiji and Kibiti.<\/p>\n<p><b>Duties and Responsibilities<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conduct initial census of all households in a respective study area.<\/li>\n<li>Document vital demographic events (Fertility, Migration, Mortality etc) of all household members residing in a study area.<\/li>\n<li>Track and conduct interviews with the selected type of interviewees.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure the availability of necessary equipment for data collection.<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for safe keeping, maintenance and the return of project equipment rent to you for the purpose of the survey.<\/li>\n<li>Collect information using tablets.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure the study is done according to the research ethical guidelines.<\/li>\n<li>Communicate with other study staff regularly at scheduled meetings and participate actively in all meetings.<\/li>\n<li>Retain high level of public and community support and trust, e.g. in relation to research ethics and effective communication.<\/li>\n<li>Respond to queries, concerns and issues raised by the Supervisors\/Coordinator \/Principal Investigator\/Investigators.<\/li>\n<li>Supervise field interviewers and perform data quality checks.<\/li>\n<li>Perform data entry.<\/li>\n<li>Undertake any other tasks that the supervisors shall reasonably require from time to time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><script async src=\"httpsss:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<!-- 2019 Links AD --><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\n     style=\"display:block\"\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4564014896468666\"\n     data-ad-slot=\"9648899391\"\n     data-ad-format=\"link\"\n     data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p><b>Qualification and Experience<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Certificate or Diploma in Nursing from recognized institution, registered with the Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council (TNMC).<\/li>\n<li>Prior experience of working in clinical research is an added advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Prior field experience or work in the Rufiji Health and Demographic Surveillance System will be an added advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Applicants from Rufiji and Kibiti will be given first priority.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Skills and Competencies<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to work successfully under minimum supervision but also within a team.<\/li>\n<li>Fluent in Swahili, Literate in English.<\/li>\n<li>Numeracy, interviewing, moderation\/facilitation skills.<\/li>\n<li>Basic computer application skills.<\/li>\n<li>Negotiation skills\/Communication \u2013 Oral and written.<\/li>\n<li>Building rapport\/Interpersonal \u2013 People skills.<\/li>\n<li>Organizational \u2013 Time management.<\/li>\n<li>Listening and report writing skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Mode of Application<\/b><\/p>\n<p>All candidates who meet the above job requirements should send their application letters together with their detailed curriculum vitae (CVs) showing contact addresses including email, telephone\/cell phone numbers and copies of academic and professional certificates to the address below.
