You can choose to apply as an\u00a0<strong>individual<\/strong>\u00a0or an\u00a0<strong>organisation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>British Council accept \u2018early stage\u2019 applications, meaning you don\u2019t necessarily need a working prototype when you make your application.<\/p>\n<p>You don\u2019t need to be working in the digital or technology sector to apply.<\/p>\n<p>To help, British Council recommend thinking carefully about the following before you apply:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The need your idea addresses<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 be clear about which one of The Global Goals you are focusing on and the problem your idea could help to solve.<\/li>\n<li><strong>How people will benefit<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 tell us why your idea matters to the people it is designed for and how it has the potential to positively impact thousands of lives.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Why it\u2019s compelling<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 we need to feel that you really care about making a difference so tell us the story behind your idea.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The competition<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 show us you have a clear understanding and awareness of any competitors who may be working on similar products and tell us why your idea is different.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The tools and resources needed to turn it into a product<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 it doesn\u2019t matter if you haven\u2019t worked with technology before. They will be asked to make a short video and develop a business model to showcase their idea.<\/p>\n<p>In\u00a0<strong>March 2020<\/strong>, we will announce our finalists who will then be interviewed by our judging panel.
