The CU therefore plays a supporting function to the key departments of the Institution, namely; CEO\u2019s Office, Research and Policy Department, and Executive Education Department in achieving this goal.<\/p>\n<p>The Communications Intern for UONGOZI Institute (UI) will therefore assist the Institute\u2019s communications team in the day-to-day operations of the CU. He\/She will work closely with the Institute\u2019s Communications Officer and report directly to Communications Manager.<br \/>\n<script async src=\"httpsss:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<!-- 2019 Links AD --><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4564014896468666\" data-ad-slot=\"9648899391\" data-ad-format=\"link\" data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><br \/>\n<b>Scope of the Assignment<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist in frequently updating the Institute\u2019s website.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in maintaining an online presence on the Institute\u2019s social media accounts: Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in updating the mailing list.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in drafting press releases, media briefs and other communications materials for external stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in maintaining internal communications.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in proofreading, fact-checking and editing communication materials.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in processing requisitions for goods\/services provided by different vendors.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in transcribing and translating audio and\/or video files for communication materials.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in planning and organising national and regional events (meetings, forums and workshops).<\/li>\n<li>Assist in taking newsworthy photos at events and functions.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in branding at different UONGOZI events.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in performing print, broadcast and online media monitoring.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in identifying, planning, and implementing new communication strategies, platforms and tactics.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in the compilation of stories for the Institute\u2019s newsletter(s).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>\u00a0Expected Outcome<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Up-to-date email database of UONGOZI Institute\u2019s stakeholders.<br \/>\nFrequently updated website and other online platforms such as UONGOZI Blog, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube.<br \/>\nBank of transcribed and translated audio and\/or video for communication materials.<\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0Qualifications<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must hold a bachelor\u2019s degree in Mass Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or any other related discipline.<\/li>\n<li>Strong verbal and written communication skills, both in English and Swahili.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to operate a semi-professional camera.<\/li>\n<li>Digitally savvy \u2013 online\/social\/mobile.<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in MS-Word, Excel and internet search tools.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.<\/li>\n<li>Volunteering experience is preferred, although not required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Duration<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The Intern will be provided with a three-month contract.
