Driven by a core strategic mandate for research, training and services, the Institute\u2019s work now spans a wide spectrum, covering biomedical and ecological sciences, intervention studies, health-systems research and policy translation.<b>\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n<div><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n<div><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div><b>Position: Statistician (1 post)<\/b><\/div>\n<div>Reports to: Project Leader<\/div>\n<div>Work station: Ifakara<\/div>\n<div>Apply by: July 15, 2019<b>\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><b>Position Summary<\/b><\/div>\n<div>IHI is looking for a Statistician to work with IHI research groups in designing, planning, and analyzing scientific projects within the KIULARCO, the existing research platform of the Kilombero and Ulanga antiretroviral cohort nested within St Francis referral hospital (SFRH) in Ifakara.<b>\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><b>Duties and Responsibilities<\/b><\/div>\n<div>\u2022 Collaborate with IHI research groups in the design, planning, and analysis of scientific projects within the KIULARCO.<\/div>\n<div>\u2022 Provide support the core data management facilities in the definition, set-up and description of analysis tables as well as data queries for quality control.<\/div>\n<div>\u2022 Contribution to the ongoing development and operation of the KIULARCO reporting tools<\/div>\n<div>\u2022 Processing of various short data analysis requests.<\/div>\n<div>\u2022 Assist with other projects at IHI based on discussions with the project leader or head of thematic unit.<\/div>\n<div>\u2022 Attend all compulsory cohort and scientific meetings at Ifakara Health Institute (IHI).<\/div>\n<div>\u2022 Contribution in planning, coordination and performance of research activities\/studies organised by IHI and other partners.<b>\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><b>Qualification and Experience<\/b><\/div>\n<div>\u2022 A Bachelor or Master\u2019s degree in Epidemiology or Statistics or related field.<\/div>\n<div>Skills and Competencies<\/div>\n<div>\u2022 Able to adhere to IHI core values, Integrity, Transparence, responsibility, Respect and initiative.<\/div>\n<div>\u2022 Self-motivated and team building.<\/div>\n<div>\u2022 Interest in TB\/HIV.<\/div>\n<div>\u2022 Good programming skills in Stata (preferred) or SAS.
