Finance Assistance Jobs at USAID Project

The USAID PROTECT Project is a five-year project that is funded by USAID though March  2020 and is implemented by RESEARCH TRIANGLE INSTITUTE (RTI). The objective of PROTECT is to address the dynamics that threaten biodiversity conservation and inhibit private, sector-led growth in Tanzania’s natural resource sector. RTI is recruiting for a FINANCE ASSISTANCE.

Main Responsibilities:

The Finance Assistance will be responsible for assisting the Finance Manager and Administration Manager in ensuring the overall financial processes are adhered to and executed in timely and qualitative way. He/she will assist in ensuring that the internal finance processes are followed, cash flow and other financial forecasts are prepared.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation and submission of accurate and timely monthly financial reports and supporting financial documentation.
  • Assist in preparation and consolidation of Monthly Reconciliation packages
  • Manage and monitor payment for workshop/training and advances to staff
  • Receive and process all invoices and documents from the field offices.
  • Manage staff advance and ensure are accounted for per RTI policies and procedures, any cash not spent is deposited in a timely manner and issue receipt
  • Review of staff advance balances and remind staff to liquidate them before the end of the month.
  • Post data into QuickBooks by following established accounting techniques and procedures.
  • Ensure payroll statutory deductions and VAT claims are submitted in compliance with local laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

 

  • A Diploma / Bachelor in either in either Business studies or Accounting or Financial Management plus 6 years’ relevant work experience or a Master’s degree and 3 years’ experience
  • Proficiency in excel and knowledge in other accounting software packages such as QUICKBOOKS
  • Able to work effectively with minimum supervision
  • Able to work under strict deadlines with monthly and yearly closing procedures for accounting records
  • Good organization and administrative skill
  • Excellent communication, organization and reporting skills, team player, trustworthy and responsible
  • Excellent attention to detail
